Is there a setting that permenantly collapses splashes? I've tried using the collapse button and it works just like it does with collapsing forums and other things only once you navigate away the next time you view it's displayed again. (Using the new Sun theme with reduced images enabled)

Might be that splashes can hold important information (maybe not in all forums lol) that makes it a bad idea to allow permanent collapsing of them.
If a particular splash bothers you, you could ask the moderator if they could make it smaller or less distracting?
