College Students

I am currently in my 3rd year doing a Bachelor of Arts Degree with a Major in Sociology!^^

University is awesome, and I love love love it! Obviously it's school and I'd rather be doing other things like playing Pokemon or watching cartoons...but it's pretty kick-ass.

I live in Canada and our tuition is pretty inexpensive. A bachelor's degree is about $25,000 as opposed to the expensive tuition in the United States. So that's one great thing.

I don't really know what I am going to do once I graduate though, haha, I am hoping R&D (Research and Development) in the entertainment/media sector. It would be fun to work for Nintendo or Sony or something along those lines doing research. Yep yep!

Are law schools free even if you're from the United States? Do you know if room and board is free as well? I'm curious.

I highly doubt it, usually if they're free it's because the people attending are citizens of the country. Most schools will still require you to pay as an international student. *also looked at international schools*

my friends and I talk about that sometimes, how tuition in canada is so much lower than over here in the US. I mean 25k for a whole degree sounds like a fantasy dream hahaha. my tuition is around 30k per YEAR (it is a private school, but still, making a point). it used to not be as high, but we just got an increase in tution the past couple of years so it's still rising yaaaay.

Figured I might as well post. :D
I'm currently attending the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities pursuing a B.D.A./B.S. in Architecture, with a currently goal of going on to a M. Architecture as well. Not too sure what I actually want to do with those potential degrees, but I'm interested in Architecture and Design in general. So we'll see what ends up happening.

I have a few friends that go there :) and they really like it.

Currently studying Information Technology. I have this semester, summer, and the next semester left to graduate with a certificate, alongside certifications in Microsoft and COMPTIA +. After this, I might take a break, then I'm planning to further my studies at a tech school to pursue an Associates Degree in IT with an emphasis in Programming.

Wow sounds like a lot of you guys are doing great for yourselves. I've always be interested in what college life is like. Can't wait to get there myself.
How hard was it to pick your major? I know for me, not even there yet, but I have like 4 majors that really interest me. Too bad you can only do one and/or double major or major in one and minor in the other.

Here's my random advice/anecdote, take it as you wish.

Ever since like sophomore/junior year of highschool I knew I wanted to do something related to Design, and I had managed to narrow it down to Graphic Design or Architecture (my current major) and really, I just went from there, I though Architecture was really cool and something I'd enjoy, despite the time commitment. I briefly thought about double-majoring in Architecture/G. Des. but due to how studio classes are, I would most likely die if I tried to go that route. So I gave up on G. Des and am looking at a minor in Design to augment my Architecture degree (which is already heavily design based) so that I'm hopefully not pigeon-holed into on Architecture as a career, but also other design related professions.

I had a gap year, and then decided to start studying. I jumped from wanting to be an interpreter, to being a counsellor, then finally, a psychologist. It's rare to be clear-cut in exactly what you want to do. I don't know how college works.

Some major subjects can be studied as minors, so you could pick out of the four which you like the most, or a the most interested in, and start from there. If you decide one of the minors are more interesting, you can swap your majors. Once you're in, there's a lot of free reign. Again, I'm speaking as an Australian student, so I have no idea how the tertiary system in your country works.

I also recommend speaking to the a school counsellor; generally they help a lot. =)

I've been in college since fall of '07. I started out majoring in Graphic Design, but just a year ago I changed majors to Animation. In truth I love both, as well as illustration and fine arts, but there is no minoring or double-majoring here (The Art Institute of Atlanta). I plan to finish my BFA in animation, and will be out at the end of next year - ready to take the creative world by storm, hopefully alongside the man of my dreams (who graduated from here in December) ♥

I'm not sure, you could migrate as long as your university has some links with the one in Brazil you wish to come for. Honestly, I'm not sure about how it works.

My tuition is 50k+ a year ): Fortunately for me, I'm dirt poor so I literally get paid to go here, because my income is low enough that I got maximum federal aid, as well as a ton of aid from the school itself.

Oh my word you're at a fancy school haha, and that's actually really nice that you were still able to go and get a lot of federal aid. A lot of my friends don't grasp that concept. They think that because they don't have a lot of money and because they're paying college by themselves, that they won't be able to get any kind of assistance. Which is kinda the opposite :/ my friend's mom went to school that way too.

Yeah, I go to Notre Dame, so. Private, high-end kind of thing. xD; The people I feel worst for are middle class people that want to go to a nice college. They usually get little to no financial aid because they own houses and have a car or two in the family and aren't struggling to survive, but they still can't afford 30-50k tuition every year. I'm super poor so I get a ton of financial aid, but other people I know who aren't as poor had to give up on the college of their dreams because they didn't get enough aid.

First time being poor worked out for me 8D

Here in Denmark, things are a little different, but I guess I'm attending the Danish equivalent to a College. I'm attending a Danish Gymnasium, which is sort of a secondary education following our primary education, ("Folkeskole") and it offers a (if i may quote wikipedia) "3-year general academically-oriented upper secondary programme", which imo sounds very fancy, hahah.

Anyway, in short, I mainly study Music, English and Math.

As I like to tell people that I meet, I'm taking the slow scenic route through college. Mainly due to financial strains, I'm limited to taking only 2-3 classes a semester. XD

I'm planning to major in civil engineering and minor in architecture. With those academic credentials, I should hopefully be making some good money once I graduate. XD

This semester saw me taking "General Chemistry II" and "Calculus II" and last semester I had "Mechanics and Heat" and "General Chemistry I"...everything before that was just basics like English, History, and Government, and like one drafting class. XD

Hey, your post is way too good. I am also a law school student and my graduation will be completed soon. I want to try for the Bar Exam as well as soon as my graduation is completed. Is there anyone who has taken the Bar exam? If yes, please share your experience with this test.
