It's really nice. It's got a fully equipped kitchen so I can cook my own meals and not have to buy a meal plan and eat cafeteria food all the time. It's very convenient, especially on nights like tonight where I'm not gonna be eating until 9:30 or so. :B

We have a kitchen in our dorms, too, but we still have to buy the meal plan. It doesn't affect me, since I have a grant, but it does annoy many people.

Our dorms have one kitchen for the entire building. And the meal plans don't have any healthing alternatives, so it really sucks.

It depends on the dorm on how many kitchens there are. My dorm is three-story, and only has one kitchen. There is another that has one every so many floors. Probably the most healthy thing on campus the meal plan covers is Subway. I sometimes can't stand it. The really good thing, though, is we can have pizza delivered to our dorm using the meal plan.

My dorms sucked. they were almost primitive in contrast to most new dorms today. I might post a picture later, but for the most part there was 2 twin beds that could be bunked if you had the right metal dowels for connecting the posts, the most basic desks made for writing and homework (not very computer friendly) and a double wardrobe for you and your roommates' clothes. You had to provide everything other than a space heater and a ceiling lamp. as for the meal plans, they were mandatory and you usually had a choice of some halfway decent deli sandwich or spam-burgers and 'cardboard' pizza. (regular pizza joints got a lot of business because they were healthier and got better health Dept. scores than my cafe.

Wow, that's almost how our dorms are. They are pretty pathetic. We can't have a heater in our rooms (well, there's a large unit on the ceiling, but that's beside the point). Anything that could be a fire hazard is prohibited in our rooms. They are extremely strict.
As for the meals...we have actual pizza, luckily. However, the pizza in food area (it's not what I would call a cafeteria...we do have one, but it's only open for a few hours a day) is nowhere near as good as the pizza they deliver (and yet, they are both made by the same restaurant).

Hmmm...well, maybe you could say how crappy/awesome/average your bedroom is? I dunno...just trying to give you an idea.

My room is alright. It has three different color blue walls. I have two book cases, a desk, a high bed with drawers, a dreeser, 4 tac boards full of pictures, and a television. Tis my sanctuary.

Yeah, there we go. Not as left out now, are you? That's what a room is good for. You get to get away from everything. I've always spent all of my time in my room (both before and during college). I don't know why.

Guess not XD
I do, too. There's just something so relaxing about my room, almost reassuring?

Maybe. It could be all sorts of things. I think I spent so much time in mine because it's my place, nobody else's (excluding my dorm room, anyway). As for why I spend so much time in my dorm room...that's where my laptop is, and I don't feel like going anywhere. XD (Plus, I get the most privacy.)

My favorite thing in the entire world is sitting in my room at 3:00 a.m., enjoying the peace of the night while I write or watch television or play video games or do whatever.

I wish I could say that...sometimes, the people in the hall here get pretty noisy. I like staying up late as much as the next college student, but they really need to learn to respect those that are sleeping. It doesn't happen that often, though.
Whenever it is peaceful, I enjoy it (though, I'm usually listening to music...so I don't always enjoy the peace). I sometimes hate the quiet, though, but that's due to ringing in my ears (ugh...very annoying).

sounds nothing like my freshman year at college. almost every night it seemed, especially during exam weeks, that something was always going on. whether it was some moron setting off firecrackers, playing some sport, or just running drunk in the upstairs hallways. I was lucky enough to be on the best terms with the dorm super. I got special treatment like never getting searched in random drug searches and not having to leave during scheduled fire drills.

Ugh....FIRE DRILLS!!! We had one recently, and all it was was a ploy to get us to go to the hall-wide meeting. I'm till ticked off at them over it. Oh, and here lately, people have been vandalizing the place and....well...doing stuff I can't say here on PC. It started out really well, but it seems people are now starting to act like college idiots. At least they aren't that noisy...(I actually forgot all about that, which is why I didn't mention it earlier.)

Why are coolege students so rowdy? Way to fit the stereotype?

I wish I knew...there are a lot that aren't, but it seems there are even more that are. Just like the reason I enjoy college so much, I think it's because they finally have some freedom and can do whatever the heck they want (although, all I do is sit in my room...I don't go out and party or anything like that). I never can understand some of these people here on campus.

Partying never really appealed to me. I'm sure they're fun, but they just never seemed like that big a deal to me.

Yeah, I know what you mean. It's never appealed to me, either.

My only "college" experience is that game where you toss the ping-pong ball into the cups of beer....I didn't drink the beer, though. I specifically said that if they wanted me to play, that I wouldn't be drinking any of it. Surprisingly, they were okay with it. That game is amazingly fun, but it would have been even more fun without the beer (I would have actually drank something if they had Coke instead).

Anyway...so that we can avoid a beer/alcohol topic....
I'm also wondering why the heck college students go so crazy during spring break (ours isn't until next month). It's like they act even more stupid than usual during that time. Partying more and more. I just don't get them... Those people give college students a bad name.
