I hope that wasn't meant in an offensive remark. Most of the time, when people say something like that, it is.

It wasn't really, if it offended you then sorry D: But it wasn't said for that reason. Just not the best with words and bam! Smart person stererotype, makes my life easier :>

I didn't think it was. It's just I'm one of those people that almost fits a typical "computer nerd" description, that's why I was wondering. (No, it didn't offend me.)

XDude isn't a nerd.. he's just, incredibly good with technology. XD;

XDUDE ARE YOU THE NEXT BILL GATES?

Ew, no Will. I'm not a big fan of Microsoft products. (Even if I am using a few of them at the moment.)
Technology is awesome. That's why I'm trying to become a computer engineer.

Ohhh, have fun doing that :D Buut, whatever you do. Don't give computers human like qualities D: That would ruin the world.

Giving computers any human-like emotions would definitely be stupid. They've already tried that once and failed. (I'm not going into robotics, though, but a friend of mine is.)

They tried to give a robot the ability to love, and that didn't go too well. (I think Blazichu linked to it in a group convo a while back. Don't quite remember when.)

Apparently I don't remember this. XD;;

Computers having attitude? They'd hate us. They're like our slaves.

Wow, for a second I thought we were in 2006 D: I was like, "That's only like, 2-3 years old..." But nooo we're in 2009, thanks for leaving me behind D: Stupid calender

Scanners are not scary. Old Epson printers are scary. Seriously, the noises they make would intimidate anyone. They're like crazy people with guns. Stay away, because they're really no help at all.

Okay, creativity? Problem. The only way stuff gets onto a computer is by people. Either programmers or users use their own creativity to give the computer a way of reproducing it. That's not creativity. Unless they are made to teach themselves and learn from a function, it would take so much time and the right random factors to get anywhere near a personality or creativeness. Even then, due to the lack of unique experiences, it's still the result of human construction.

Guys (and gals), very few people actually fit totally into the nerd stereotype. We're on a pokemon forum, right? Have a look at how many people are perfectly normal people. I don't think any stereotypes are valid, but from another 'nerd' it would be endearing term, no?

EDIT: This is what happens when I write long posts. I get left behind.
