    We all know what they are. They served no important to the main storyline, but they're a nice sidequest.

    Did you enjoy this feature? Did you ever manage to get to the master rank and complete it? What was your preferred category?

    I liked the contest feature, it was a nice time killer <: I could never get past the Super Rank >__> I enjoyed doing the Beauty category the most, because most of my Pokemon usually had beauty moves! <:

    I loved the R/S/E contests :) They were so stressful, but they were awesome.
    I especially did the Cool Contest, simply 'coz my Pokemon had the moves for. And I already managed to the Master Rank, but I didn't complete it, unfortunately... Foes were too strong.
     
    The contests were great. I think the furthest I got was Ultra Rank in the Beauty category with my Milotic. I only tried (and failed) Master Rank once after that.
    I found the contests were a nice break from training and catching pokemon.
     
    I liked the contests as a side-challenge and could usually get past Super Rank before I lost. I actually did beat Master Rank once with Castform in the Beauty Category, but I couldn't get anyone else that close.
     
    I actually won the Master Rank competition with my Swellow, using combos like Double Team - Agility & Quick Attack. I was really proud since I learned everything from the game. Couldn't really bother starting from scratch with another Pokemon though.
     
    I hated them. They were the worst extra feature/side quest included in the game imo. Probably because I could never win one.
     
    I quite enjoyed RSE contests - I beat them all (to the point have having pictures made in each section) and found them more enjoyable than dppt's 'Super Contests', which I also beat but found the dress-up part boring and the dancing addition merely okay, and the main section to be worse than RSE's version. I hope that will stay the same if they are to be remade but at any rate, I enjoyed the originals.

    I only won like, one or two contests. They were pretty fun once you finish the game. I just chose a category that was best for my Pokemon.
     
    I think at one time I had beaten Master on three of them and Hyper on the other two. They were an intersting diversion, and certainly better than 4th gen Super Contests that followed in 4th gen - I liked how you could try and mess with your opponents' appeals in these contests. Of course that also meant lots of yelling and screaming when they messed with my appeals :P

    5th round Explosion = win.
     
    Although I never won any of the master rank contests, I do thing that the contests were a welcome addition. Not only did they require a good strategy, but were also a good way (Emerald only) to see new pokemon.

    I think they were over-saturated in Gen IV though.
     
    The only thing I did not like about the Pokemon Contest was getting Jammed all the time (especially in the Smart and Tough Contest). However, I did love jamming people though, it was so fun. I did wish that they bought back the same exact contest in D/P/Pt but also adding the dancing too....but they didn't and that made me sad.

    It was something to do after the Elite 4, apart from the Battle Frontier. I thought of it as a nice "vacation". I dedicated myself more to it, beating all the Master Ranks to the point where the museum had all the paintings of the Pokémon. I was sad to see combos removed in Gen IV though....
     
    I never really cared for contests, but whenever I did compete in them, I used my old Swampert in the Beauty department. Got to the master rank with that Pokemon :D
     
    I liked 'em a lot, much better than DPPt's. I got up to Master on Cool, Tough, and Beauty (I believe). Always liked them~ I kind of wished there had been a battle-type section in them like the anime, though.
     
    I enjoyed them alot, I actually finished all contests on master rank, but like the person said above me, Pokeathlon is way better, It has prizes at least!
