Lookin' good, TCG forum. I used to be an avid Pokemon card collector up until 3rd gen and was wondering if y'all would like to share some of your more interesting, rare, old, or strange cards, as well as give your thoughts on mine.

Favorites of my old collection include:

    Japanese Shiny (shining?) Mewtwo
Movie promos like Ancient Mew, M01 Pikachu, M02 Articuno, and some from the VHS cases like Unown J, Jirachi, and "Tiger" Pikachu
Tournament promos like Igglybuff, Pichu, and Cleffa
    Pokemon Snap Pikachu
    Surfing Pikachu
    Balloon Pikacku
Promo? Mew (the one that was in the Japanese Fossil set)
Dark Arbok with some sort of gold WOTC insignia on it (?)
The entire Southern Islands set, unopened
    GB Meowth
    Vending machine series cards

At elementary school we'd have like 30+ people come in with their binders and trade all morning, which is probably how I got a good deal of these. I don't figure they're all that rare, but they're cool to still own after all these years.

Ah, I entirely forgot that I own the whole Southern Islands set, still unopened, as well as the GB Meowth you mentioned and a Clefairy from the Vending Series. Good stuff!

I've never seen the Southern Islands set at any stores, so I never got it (haven't really thought about buying it online). The Mew card came from one of those re-packaged blisters as one of the extra cards in back (you couldn't see it before opening). I was super psyched when I got it as a kid. I wouldn't mind owning the whole set, though. I got some of the other Southern Islands cards from trades, but maybe I'll try to find the Japanese set whenever I have the money.

I love the Vending Machine cards! Some of the cards have such gorgeous artwork that other sets can't even compare to (plus, they're super glossy). Then again, some of them have really silly artwork.

EDIT: Ah, I forgot to mention the old quarter machine Japanese foil sticker cards. I know they're bootlegs, but I still like them and find them very nostalgic. Some of my favorites, perhaps the most nostalgic, are Magikarp (Rocket), Dark Alakazam, Sabrina's Slowbro, Sabrina's Mr. Mime, Erika's Clefairy, Ledyba (Southern Islands, though it has the Japanese Gym expansion symbol), and Donphan (Neo Genesis). I used to have the Southern Islands Wartortle like this, but I traded it during elementary school... I kind of regret that now.

EDIT 2: There's also the Japanese Aquapolis Slowbro (official). I love the artwork so much!

I don't know how elusive it is anymore, if it was at all, but I have the ancient Mew card from the Pokémon 2000 movie. Most of my favorite cards are of my favorite Pokémon with really good artwork. Most of my collection is from Gen I, too, the really old school cards.

Lol, that Southern Islands set is something my parents never let me live down. They wouldn't get it for me so I threw a fit and had to get carried out of the mall. I somehow got it like a week later, though. Can't believe it's still on a shelf in my closet unopened, but man was I a dumb 6 year old some times. To think I'm turning 22 now... o 3o

My best older card is Base Set Charizard. I didn't get it till like 2012 though.

I also have the full Southern Island Set, however misplaced the postcards or whatever was also included. The card set is still mint.

My favorite cards are any that have clay figures as picture, I just think that is so cool. It forces the artist to think of the Pokemon in a third dimension and it adds so much.

I also love the Politoed card, a lot of the e-cards were really cool, like the Holo Mew I used to have. I keep buying and selling them to find cool new ones. And I only keep about 5-10 for every 2000 or so cards I buy at a time.
