Calling Infernape out as a Counter.

As Infernape switches in, Honedge uses Swords Dance.

Infernape then uses Flare Blitz, which does a maximum of 90.4% to Eviolite Honedge. Honedge responds with +2 Sacred Sword that does 69.6% minumum.

Honedge can then get the KO with priority +2 Shadow Sneak, which does 46.4% to Infernape (69.6 + 46. 4 = 116%).

So, countering Honedge (though I guess this counters Infernape too)

Hippowdon @ Leftovers
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 252 HP / 144 Def / 112 SpD
Impish Nature
- Earthquake
- Stealth Rock
- Slack Off
- Stone Edge

Hippowdown can 3HKO and recover any health lost. Honedge can barely muster a 5HKO against Hippowdown (same with Doublade who I think was the original intention of Aaron).

Changing to include a Doublade just in case...

Swampert @ Leftovers
Ability: Torrent
EVs: 240 HP / 252 Def / 16 SpD
Relaxed Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Earth Power
- Scald
- Roar

Swampert 2HKO's with Earth Power. Doublade/Honedge can only 3HKO at +2 (not possible if Swampert switches in and EP's twice).

Swampert also beats Infernape. It 2HKO's and while Infernape can 3HKO, it can only do so with Close Combat, leading to defence drops that then change Swampert's attacks into a OHKO.
