For the first question, there's still time to enter. For the second question, yes. That's all that is required you can put pictures though if you want to.
 
Definitely going to take part in this. I have a whole folder full of half-finished fakemon (as, I suspect, do most Pokefans...) My question is, can we enter more than one fakemon?

I just want to remind people of some things:

  • Generally, the highest Base Stat Total a non-legendary Pokemon has is 540. The exceptions to this are pseudolegendary Pokemon like Salamence, Garchomp and Dragonite
  • Look at your art and descriptions and ask yourself - "Is that what a Pokemon would REALLY look like?"
  • Look at their movepools - are they balanced? Do you have about 10 level up moves with a base power of 80 and above
  • The point of this is that some of your Pokemon are definitely broken - too high of stats, too strong of a movepool, too powerful of an ability - balance is key everyone
  • Some of your designs are rather weak or generic as well - try to be creative. If you can't draw, try to type out an awesome description

I'm going to give you guys a "tier list" of Pokemon's Base Stat Totals. When you're designing your Pokemon, try to think of which of these Pokemon you would consider it similar to:

720- Arceus. If your Base Stat Total is this high, you're doing it wrong. Consider balancing out your Pokemon's stats more
670-680- Legendaries like Palkia, Groudon and Mewtwo. If you're going for this level, you better be damn descriptive. Have an awesome backstory and everything. The design should be awesome too. It'll be hard to win with this sort of Pokemon without them. If you make a non-legendary Pokemon in this tier like Slaking, it better have a huge drawback to it like Slaking's ability.

580-600- Pseudolegendaries like Tyranitar and lower level legendaries like Latios and the Registeel.

520-540- Magmortar, Gardevoir, Snorlax and other powerful two-three stage evolutions.

470-500- Poliwrath, Alakazam, and Kangaskhan.

420-450- Jumpluff, Seaking and Sandslash.

Generally no non-fully evolved Pokemon that is part of an evolutionary line has a higher Base Stat Total than 400. Sometimes Pokemon will have an extreme stat like Alakazam with its Special Attack and Speed that is counterbalanced by its terrible HP, Defense and Attack stats.

The key to a winning Pokemon is definitely balance and creativity. So look over your entries everyone and ask yourself: "Is this Pokemon good enough?"

I was going to change my art but I figured that it has the simplicity of the old Pokémon :laugh:

I think I do have to revise the moveset and some other stuff. Some people went all out for a Bulbapedia article, I'm not sure if I should do the same. I only met the requirements of the Rules Post which is fine by me ^__^
 
I'll be revising my entry once again. There were some changes I wanted to make, but mysteriously, 7 of my 15 posts vanished, so I was unable to change it.
