Ok, Halloween is coming and I wanted you're opinion on the creepiest Pokemon. There are many contenders but my favourite is Cofagrigus. Ok, so if 14 year old boys or 30 year old girls being forced to remember life as a human as they are forced to fight and breed with other creatures wasn't horrifying enough, it's evolution is the icing on the cake. So get this, you're wandering in the forest when you see a box. When you get closed to it you're thrown inside. You can't move as you're brain, eyes and organs are ripped out and the last thing you feel is fabric being wrapped around you're now bloody torso!

I'm gonna move this on down to Pokemon General, since this isn't specific to X/Y.

    Moves.

But Cofagrigus swallows 14 year old boys and 30 year old women whole and rips their organs out? Glad I'm not a 14 year old boy or a 30 year old woman.

Also Parasect is creepy. Punch "cordyceps fungus" into Youtube and you'll see why.

Hmm, this is a fitting topic for the season.

I absolutely love the creep factor of Barbaracle's design. It seems inspired by the monster from Pan's Labyrinth.

Other creepy pokemon include cubone. The background story, wearing a bone structure of its deceased mother is an eerie one.

There is one very clear winner of this thread:

    Spoiler:

Look at that face. That's the stuff of nightmares. I've read some disturbing Pokedex entries - Lampent, Cacturne, Gorebyss and so on - but nothing I have seen comes close to being as creepy as that. That is a prime example of being born evil.

...oh, and there was that one Teddiursa as well, but to be honest that was creepier when it evolved into Ursaring and tried to pull off the cute look anyway. xD

Dis i must agree with. Ever seen togepi in the anime sure it looks cute but when it takes a walk alone wat is it really doing? Hehe

Shedinja! That Pokémon creeps me to no end. The fact that it cannot move and cannot breathe is creepy. Not only that, but knowing that it can steal people's spirits by looking into the crack on its back is terrifying. It's certainly a Pokémon I would run away from if it were real. Plus, its design looks kind of scary.

Drifloon. It's so cute, but I was creeper out when I read its pokedex entry in D/P about luring little kids and trying to yank on them to take them away. Jeeze.

    Easy.

    Throws you into hypnosis and eats your dreams and kidnaps you and whatnot. ;;

(it's Hypno, in case that wasn't clear)

Usually I find Pokemon creepy when they are in the "Humanoid" group (like Jynx for example), but eventhough I like Alakazam, Mega Alakazam is creepy in a way... lol

But in general; Lopunny, Drowzee, Hypno, Dusknoir, Honchkrow and Lickylicky creep me out for sure! xD

Also Parasect is creepy. Punch "cordyceps fungus" into Youtube and you'll see why.

I'm gonna agree with this. Parasect is really creepy... it was creepy even before I found out that it's actually a parasite that's taken Paras' body over.

Cubone's backstory is more sad than creepy.

I mean, Haunter straight up murder people, and Golbat sucks both human and pokemon blood.
Jellicent have 'territories' where ships and swimmers vanish. "A castle made of ships it sank..."
    Honedge's whole family.

    Yemask, hands down.

Chesnaught is apparently strong enough to flip a 50-ton tank (Oddly specific. Why not a 50 ton rock?)

    Meowstic can psychically vaporize trucks
Beedrill swarms, secrets a powerful poison from its stingers, is territorial, and is 3 feet tall.

Shroomish: "This POKéMON's spores are so toxic, they make trees and weeds wilt."

Elektross: They crawl out of the ocean using their arms. They will attack prey on shore and immediately drag it into the ocean (Creepy eel with claw arms and nasty teeth.)

Frillish: "They paralyze prey with poison, then drag them down to their lairs, five miles below the surface."
Vullaby: As the time approaches for it to evolve, it discards the bones it was wearing. (That is clearly a humanoid skull around its bum)

Mandibuzz: It makes a nest out of bones it finds. It grabs weakened prey in its talons and hauls it to its nest of bones.

Lampent: The spirits it absorbs fuel its baleful fire.
It hangs around hospitals waiting for people to pass on.

    o_o

Ghost pokemon aside, I think that Hypno and Drowsee are both awfully creepy dude to what they're know to do via the anime and their pokedex entries

Yes, this is the one I immediately thought about.

I am also creeped out by Pokémon that grow extra heads as they evolve, how does THAT work in terms of consciousness, or "soul" if you will? Does one of the heads retain the pre-existing Pokémon's consciousness? Does the original consciousness go away, and the body is taken over by two new ones?

On top of having evolved by growing another head, Zweilous' case features another rather dark twist: the Pokédex explicitly states that only one of Hydreigon's three heads has a brain, so basically in order to evolve, one of Zweilous' two heads has to slowly lose its mind and then die.
