Customized User Titles for PC Supporters

Um... That's not how it was supposed to sound. I said that because there isn't really a solid way to go "Ah okay, this supporter deserves it." Nor is it as much of a responsibility or major privilege, or like Erica said, add to the PC experience. (Blogs & Modship, both which have a way to judge if they deserve such) 'Cept you could say because of the Tier, but Erica already crossed that off the board earlier due to effectively doubling the trouble of it all. So what other method could there be to "you deserve a custom usertitle"? With the responsibility of moderating, you have various angles to look at; review, discuss, etc. With simple usertitles, you don't really... have that. ._. Thus, why I said favoritism. Just seemed like it to me with no valid way to judge whether someone deserves it. XD And now I'm just rambling, so... yeah. Maybe I'm wrong, but that's just how I thought of it all. *shrugs*

When you're giving out frivolous things that really don't add anything to the PC experience (unlike, say, blogs) to random people, it does sound like favouritism. At least with modding and such, we go through pros and cons for the user--why it would be good for them to have it, how it wouldn't be abused, etc.--but you can't do that with a mere user title. XD;

I for one don't think it's that big of a deal. I mean....sure, it would be nice, but like everyone said, it's way too much work for the admins to constantly monitor the changes. Colored use titles aren't worth having people quite their jobs =P
 
So the answer is no. We can't have our own custom user titles. It would be nice, but you gotta look at it from the staff's point of view too; way too much work...

Which is what I think Lighting has been trying to say all this time. So, I don't mean to sound "high and all mighty" here, but let's seriously just stop pestering the admins. If they change their mind and decide to give us the privilege, then great. But for now, let's just leave it, shall we? I mean, it's not like we've lost anything from not being able to have custom user titles.

I don't think anyone was "pestering" them...just asking a question. The answer was simple, but for some reason it got dragged out to two pages of posts....

And that reason was that people just couldn't let it go. You're right, the answer was simple. I'm not blaming anyone for pestering though. Hell, I was the one who started the thread; if anyone should be blamed, it should be me. All I'm saying is that we should stop "dragging it out" and let it be.
 
But enough is enough. Let us let well enough alone. It's just going to have to remain a staff only perk. I dont really mind since coming up with a usertitle is hard enough as it is, without thinking of all the ways you could have it formatted. XD

Sooner or later, the programmers who write vB will come up with a way to allow safe formatting of usertitles by regular users. Personally if there were a plugin for vB that enabled BBcode in usertitles, I'd be all for it.

You can't copy and paste html into your usertitle. o_o
 
I wouldnt really care whether we get it or not, but i would use this feature.

But the easiest way to get coloured usertitles without giving cs's html access is with a drop down menu listing a few colours like blue, green, red, yellow, and purple and what we select is it.

But i doubt we can get a feature like that because the staff would have to make it themselves (which costs and wastes alot of time and money and stuffed up forum pages due to its beta use.)

Dream high, but make do :)
