    B/W Weekly Poll #8
Do you like the idea of more cutscenes than in the other mainstream games?

Apparently in B/W, there are a lot more cutscenes than in other games (a few of which many of us who haven't played saw during the pre-release period). By the way, cutscenes are basically those animated sequences outside of normal gameplay, like for example when N talks (as seen in the pre-release shots).

★ If you've played already, what are your thoughts on the cutscenes? Could they have been improved in any way?
★ How much of an extent do you think cutscenes add to realism of a game (with keeping B/W in mind)?
★ Do you think the third game will have more cutscenes, considering the storyline will somewhat change in those games (and how much do you think they'll look better than in B/W?) Or just discuss your expectations for the third game cutscenes.

If you have any poll ideas, feel free to PM Kaori or myself with them. We may not use them the following week after you have suggested them, but we're likely to consider them in the near future.

    - well it would have been nice to understand what was being said exactly in the ones with talking in them. XD But overall they were entertaining, and neat to watch (even if some of them, along with the 3D angles on bridges partly seemed an excuse for GameFreak to show off their high graphicalllll powerrrrrrr!)

Some were a bit unnecessary though IMO (like the Ferris Wheel one - there was nothing terribly exciting about it and I felt N could have talked about all that stuff without the need for said Ferris Wheel showing-off). Technically speaking none were needed at all, but some did look nice after all and some did add to the atmosphere of the moment and whatnot. ;p

Third game having more/at least different cutscenes is nearly a given, I would think, as the plot would be slightly different for the 3rd version and hence certain cutscenes would need changing/additions I feel. Tbh I don't think said changes would will be necessarily 'better' than what is in b&w though = if so, minorly (like say the third dragon may be in place of others in cutscenes or added in - not that exciting =p).

I don't really mind cut scenes, but some of them were totally unnecessary and a waste of time. Eg. Ferris Wheel one.
Overall they are quite good, especially the ones focusing on N and the legendary Pokemon. ^^

I don't really care about or mind cutscenes at all. Except I didn't play B/W yet so I can't give any feedback about the cutscenes.

And yeah the 3rd game most likely will have cutscenes. :3 Like in Platinum, there was that one at Spear Pillar.

Yay! Weekly Poll! I look forward to them :)

I like cut-scenes and I look forward to the ones in BW because they'll look amazing.

Wow, don't hate on the Ferris Wheel. My date with N was by FAR my favourite moment in the entire game. Hahaha, seriously. I died of happiness.

I love the cutscenes, but there definitely wasn't enough of them. I expected more =(

For the cut scenes that were in the game, I thought they were spectacular!! The ending of the game
    Spoiler:

Basically, the cutscenes really really helped make the storyline of Pokemon B/W to be the greatest of all Pokemon games! I pray that there's even more cutscenes in the third game and future games. (Give me more 3-D N!!!!!!!!)

I loved them and if you ask me there wasn't enough.

After seeing how GameFreak pulled off cutscenes in these games, I wholly expect they'll make more use of them. The 3D cutscenes were amazing, though I wish they could use the towns' city models and somehow meld the cutscenes into them.

Giving N all the visual novel-style cutscenes weren't enough, though (and nor was the limited use of the Livecaster cutscenes). There could've been a heck of a lot more use of those scenes.

They're also pretty awkward without voice acting.
Yeah I was wishing for them to have Voice acting myself :(
Though maybe (and this is kind of unlikely) the American or International releases of BW have Voice acting :)

After playing B/W I found out that some of the cutscenes are long.

Never played Metal Gear Solid? XD

Anyway, I like the cut scenes in the previous games; they were a nice break from the game that you don't really see.

However, I might condem them if they are just randomly thrown in for no real reason. If they support main story events and the likes, sure, they would be cool. But if they are just every time you enter a mildly important location or what ever, it will get annoying quickly.

I usually love cutscenes because I'm big on the lore behind the story. This game will be no exception I expect. :)

I think more cutscenes is good, as it's not like the game is too overloaded with them, so it's just a nice touch ^_^ Either way, what's the harm? I don't see any problems, so it's just a case of whether you feel ther'e nice, or whether you don't care for them, in my opinion.

I'm probably one of the few people that like cutscenes in games as sometimes it gives more plot and character development, although too much of the cutscenes would make the games be more like movies/shows than games themselves. From the videos and such of B/W I have seen so far, the cut scenes are great. There wasn't too much to deteriorate the gameplay, and the ones that were shown gives some plot development.

I gotta say they did a good job on the cutscenes. Everything looks so... real almost. They should make these for the Ruby/Sapphire remakes too!
OMG, YES! This is probably me a huge fan of Sapphire, but that would be totally awesome if that happens. :3

I agree, I loved the cutscenes I have seen so far (I have tried to not look at all of them to save some for when I play the game in person)
Yeah they should totally have them for R/S remakes :D

In any game I've ever played, I await the cutscenes with bated breath. I love 'em. They add a different, television-like feel to the story. It could be as if you're playing the game at one point, then watching the events unfold in the next scene without playing.

Graphics for me, are a huge factor in cutscenes. They have to look interesting. There's nothing worse than a dreary cutscene with three characters who look like real human beings and who're all wearing the same color etc etc etc.

Cutscenes have to have color, life, and they have to be either relevent to gameplay/emotional/exciting or an epic climax. I feel that realistic games like Red Dead Redemption, although they did cutscenes very well, were just not up to scratch. I find that having a different look or a different feel graphics-wise or color-wise is the key to interesting looking gameplay and cutscenes.

I am thrilled that there are more cutscenes in B/W because I can see that the gameplay style is unique, and no other game looks like a Pokemon game, plus all the color in each Pokemon game has made it bearable and interesting to look at each generation!

So, most cutscenes appela to me if they have some degree of interest with them, but if they're done completely wrong, then shame on the developers!

I loved the cutscenes. They gave the storyline a much more solid and complete feel, raising the quality of presentation.
