I mean, I imagine that they would toss some really creative people/artists in the room, and the creative people would think up some concepts for new Pokemon, and the artists would attempt to capture that concept and if Nintendo likes it, then boom, a new Pokemon is born!

i think that's how it works kinda....only minus the room, i think they probably have artists that collect ideas over time in a handy lil sketchbook they carry with them everywhere just in case inspiration hits them like a brick...the room probably comes in when they're ready to present their ideas. i imagine it takes lots of time and effort, a lot of perfecting ideas and elaborating on them.

I miss Hoenn, but it would be great to see a remake of it for the DS. I'm only saying DS because not everyone would have a 3DS straight away.

....I also miss my mudkips.

I played a lot of Gold and Crystal because they were my first games ever. XD;; For me, it just relates to my childhood a lot. And I always used to imagine more in them and now... when I played HG, it was nothing like I imagined, which is what I get for high expectations (and dreams of the games).
 
Hoenn was pretty sweet. I loved how much water there was, and the overall diversity of the region.

yeh nostalgia contributes a lot to the perspective of each generation, but i look at those earlier pokemon and i see true creativity, true effortless innovation, true authenticity...whereas these later generations don't seem to compare. i could be blinded by nostalgia, but i stand my ground! 8o)

i think i make more noise in my house when i'm trying to be quiet than any other time > _ >
 
nica you've played B/W? :0 i've heard really good things about the storyline. im really looking forward to that. i haven't gotten to play hg/ss yet i am cry ;-c
 
High expectations of B/W? When they were first announced I thought they'd be the worst games ever. XD;;;

I'm trying not to spoil myself though, so from what I ~do~ know, they have covered my expectations. And yeah I was thinking of memorising the Japanese names but they are different depending on whether people go by one translation, the other, or romanisations, so I'm just going to call them what I've called them all along, even though everyone says "Tsutarja", I still say "Tsutaaja". :D

And nooo I haven't played. I want to though. ;;
 
hard not to spoil'r urself when you're modding the BW section xD

the only japanese name i've memorized is mijumaru because i obsessed over the 'dorable thing for a bit...other than that, i can picture the pokemon but their names are all scribblies. :s mijumaru better get a suitable english name

And well, I'm avoiding spoilers from skim reading so all is good. :D
 
I never really played GSC much, either. The music was nice (and it makes me feel nostalgic, haha, for a game I never really played) but the Pokemon seem meh and far away to me.

I will attempt to not learn the Japanese names for anything so I learn the English names instead. After all, that is what they will be called further past the English releases and I don't want to be bothered changing.

I'm getting attached to the fan-names though...wotter, smugleaf and pignite...and DIALGA NARWHAL...

A lot of the threads in B/W talk about your favorite place, your favorite pokemon, favorite generation V cries, stuff that was meant for people that already obtained the game and stuff. :( It's pretty much what I feared. D: The only speculation that's going on nowadays is the third game speculation...and thats all that comes to mind at the moment. The other threads are geared towards those that already have the game, sadly. :( I sorta feel left out.

i don't think i've ever even touched the BW forum (i mean 'NO OFFENSE' nica i just..havent) so i wouldnt know about the goings-ons.....or going ons or goings on there

but ive come across opportunities to view previews/walkthroughs on youtube, i'm avoiding them like the plague...like nica i dont want to spoil the game for myself :X
