Rumor has it the movie's actually quite good. And's midnight showing numbers were ridiculous, like 20 million.

Now playing in my head: Rumour Has It - Adele.

I hate you.

I tend to stay away from popular books.

The more obscure, the better.

One of my friends got to see an employee's screening at a local theater. She got to see it before anyone did at the first midnight showings. lol

Not only that, she didn't have to pay a dime because employee screenings are free. lol I was kinda jelly but yeah.

That's kinda rocking my world right now. I think i'm gonna drop out of college to work at a movie theater.

<3 I'm going to see the 10:30 showing with my mom tonight. We're very excited. Gonna go line up for it at 9 because we have no life hahaha. We both read the book last year and finished off the series in January so we're still pretty into it. I kind of wanted to read the book again before seeing this but I lent it to my roommates to read instead so I can go see the movie again with them if I want to. :'D

:( I understand this to some extent but a lot of books become popular for a reason. Why purposely miss out on things that a lot of people feel are good? (I realize this argument goes both ways because a lot of people think Twilight is good.)

I haven't read the book. So, that's partly why I don't feel compelled to watch the movie.

But, I also don't really want to read the book. What little I know about the concept just seems so outlandish to me. I don't think I could suspend belief that much to feel absorbed in that world. I'm sure it's good. But, idk, just not that intrigued by it

Does anybody actually think that Twilight is good? I thought it was more that they thought the boys were hot...

I don't, but of course I never read it, merely caught a glimpse of the movie here and there.
Yeahh, I just went ahead and judged the book by it's cover on that one.

Yeah but I meant they thought the guys in the books were hot too. It's the reason the actors were chosen as they were lol. I've read the books and the romance and sexual tension... it's basically porn for 15 year old girls.

Just because something's mainstream, that doesn't automatically make it bad. And vice versa. Things gain notoriety (This kind of notoriety) for a reason.

I wouldn't say it's so much s the fact that something's mainstream, rather it's the fact that everybody talks about it to the point of where you're sick of it.
I probably wouldn't be so opposed to the Twilight series if every women in my life didn't talk my ears off about it. God, I even used to date a girl who would shove the books down my throat every time we spoke, to the point where I wanted to burn every copy of the book I saw.

You know the greatest thing about Twilight? Robert Pattinson. He's the guy who plays Edward in the movies and if you see any interviews with him or whatever, it becomes instantly clear that he absolutely despises the franchise. He must be a PR disaster but it's so, so funny. My roommates and I have started watching the Twilight movies with the director's commentary since he's in some of them and the whole time he makes fun of it, ruins the mood, and just cannot take it seriously. It's so funny and whether you like the series or not (and especially if you don't), it's worth watching that way just for him. :P

Tooons of young girls. :/ I've only met one or two people who really liked the books but they do exist.

Wow I might have to watch that, it would be funny. I dont mind Twilight. I read all the books. I think the movies are bad, though. I didnt see Breaking Dawn Part 1 though.

Since Hunger Games ain't an anime, the only other things that would convince me to see it would be copious amounts of car chases and/or gun fights. Somehow, based on the description, I don't think these elements would be present in the movie, either.

I always said Twilight was one of the dumbest things ever made, and I've never seen it. Then the first movie was on one day and I watched it; and I was right, it was stupid. :\ The Hunger Games looks kind of interesting. I didn't even know it was a book until after I saw the movie trailer. D; Don't really know if I want to see it, though.
