There are no physical borders in most of Europe so it's even easier for us! XD
This is the border between France and the Spanish city of Llívia:

Haha, "3G".

AT&T must work there.

Actually, I think there might be an enhanced driver's license now but you have to go through extra hoops to get it and all the other non-passport options are either pricy or, from what I can tell, seem to be more for people who constantly transport goods back and forth?

Actually, I remember that just ~10 years ago, crossing the Austrian border still used to cost money. A relict of the pre-EU times, I think. I'm pretty sure it has been abolished by now.

I know it cost upwards of $100 for me to get a US passport last year. Then, I was considering work overseas but that plan fell through :/

My visit to Canada that I mentioned earlier took place back in 1992 (it was a school trip) where nobody needed a passport. Boy, how times have changed, lol

So I take it you don't need passports or anything? We used to not need passports for traveling to the US on foot or by car but now we do and it kind of sucks. :(
If you're not travelling by plane within the EU, you don't need a passport at all. My parents recently came back from a holiday in Nice, in the south of France, but they spent lots of it criss-crossing between Italy and France with no need for border control or customs or anything! Having been so used to it, it felt really weird when going through the US/Canadian border all those months ago - and especially all those probing questions! :D

I know you can get an international driver's license, but I hear it's only valid for a year.
