I want my license too... a little. I don't really care. Obviously if I wanted it that bad I would've gotten my permit on my birthday and not a month and 4 days after it. And the only real reason I went to the DMV that day was cuz my dad was off and he wanted me to get my permit. Plus if I was in a rush like almost every other 16 year old I would've started classes as soon as I could rather than waiting until the summer when I actually have time. It's not like I'm gonna have a car to drive anyway...

I most definitely don't want a Blue ringtone... I depise that song! And now that you mentioned it yesterday it's like it's haunting me or something! Anyways, my cell is evil and doesn't take ringtones... nor would my mom want me to get any anyways. Since it was originally her phone and she's paying for it all...

I could go get my permit but I'm to lazy to read that little book for the test. XD
I'm like that too! I was too lazy to read the book... so I didn't really! I skimmed it. When I went to take the test I took forever... it took me around a half hour! I don't really know why either... I guess I was scared I would fail and my dad would be mad at me! I don't know! But I only got one wrong... some sign that I had never seen before, ever...

I want to drive but that test bugs me, I hate reading a lot of stuff and reading a book that is SOOOOOOOOOOOO boring and then taking a test after reading does not sound good to me.

See I'm not even that big on driving. My friend has her birthday in September and already has her car all set to drive when she gets her permit on her birthday. I just don't care. I don't trust most of my class driving either. I've seen a lot of people in my grade driving when they probably aren't the most responsible people to be driving a car. And yeah, the book is boring... I haven't read it yet either. I'll have to once I take driver's ed this summer though. Not only do you take the test... but you have to pay for the test. It went up from $6 to $18 in CT too... and that's only for the permit...

That song is so annoying! I think at one point I may have liked it... but it was so over played and it's so repetitive that I just can't stand it!

LOL, I am still too young to start getting my permit, but I plan to start getting at it when I turn 16. So, you have to read some book? Ugh, I only like reading when the books have a plot and fictional characters, and that has neither of those. =P Ah well, like they say, all great things take patience.

Driving... eww...

reasons not to drive:

a) you may die because you suck at driving

b) you may die because many people who suck at driving drive

c) cost of insurance for 16 year old male in Canada: average of 5000 canadian per year or higher, or 3800 american very roughly (sorry don't know what's the updated transfer rate)

d) oil price = AAAAAHHHH!!!!!

e) taking the test cost money

f) driving lessons = "how come I have to attend these boring stuff, when I could have logged on to PC and chat, or even better, invade a friend's house to play their FFX?"

I am scared to drive. I drove around the block once, it's takes a lot of hand/eye coodination, which I don't have.

LOL, I remember this one time where I had a nightmare where I took my mom's car and went driving in it (I am still unaware of why, but you know how dreams work). oO I can't remember where I took it, but all I know is that I was scared to death. Anyways, I just want it so that I don't have to put up with my parents complaining when I want a drive to the store to get something, and because I don't like walking to school and home. =P

ARE YOU SERIOUS? *Cracks up* that is the EXACT SAME REASON I havent got MY permit yet! I was old enough like a year ago but I just cant be botherd to read that stupid, boring little book! XD, im so lazy XD.

Wow...I wish I had the option to take it but be too lazy to...my parents don't think I'm responsible so they won't let me take the drivers' test o_O;;

They don't think your responsible enough? Most of the people I know that do drive aren't responsible at all! They don't care about school or anything and then they go around driving. That's one reason why I don't want to drive... especially to school! My dad wanted me to get my permit, not me! I mean, I want it so I can say I have it and all but it's not like I plan to use it...

I can't say that I trust many teen drivers myself...they do have the highest crash rate of any age group, but that's mainly because they don't see driving as a responsibility like they should...some of the teens I know who can drive just like to get liquored up and cruise around at 80 MPH or more...but I just don't see why my parents don't think I should be allowed to drive right now, I'd probably be the most cautious driver on the road =/ Insurance prices might factor in too...I don't have a job so I could never pay the rates they charge for 16-year-olds...

I don't trust teen drivers either... most of them at least. I used to have to walk home from school everyday before I got a job so I've seen it all! The 80 MPH down a school zone right after school, not stopping or even slowing down at stop signs, and they most definitely don't yeild to pedestrians. I crossed at a crosswalk and nobody ever stopped for me... ever! Occasionally I'll get a nice person to let me go but I usually have to wait forever. And a lot of teens do drink and get high and stuff and then go and drive. That scares me too. I'm not saying all teens drive like that cuz I know I won't but a lot of them do. Especially around here. And yeah, insurance is expensive too... I have a job but that doesn't mean I have the money. But even if I do end up getting my license, it doesn't mean I'll have a car to drive and the only place I'm going to drive to is dance anyway...

I know what you mean about teen drivers never letting pedestrians across...I get driven home every day by my mom and she's usually the only one who ever stops to let kids across the street. Our school is on the edge of town so everyone who walks home usually has a long way to go, so the least anyone could do is let them on the correct side of the street, but nobody ever does that, and I'd be scared to be a pedestrian anyway because I'd likely be run over in the middle of the crosswalk by some idiot who was in a hurry. I wouldn't have anywhere to drive either, maybe to school and back...I suppose my two motivations are that I want to feel as adult as everyone else and have a car, and I want to be able to drive friends around if ever they need a lift...no one's ever said anything bad about me for not having a car, but I expect someone will sooner or later...
