Are you doing your A levels right now, yeah? You're an year older than me, and I've just started them so I'm guessing that's what you're doing. Though, why are you staying on for another three years? Even with failing your exams, A levels only take two years to complete because our GCSEs, which are also two years, and A levels are the four years of high school which American students undergo. o.o
I'd like to go to university in America and I've already contacted some people about doing so. I've been in contact with a few colleges too and I have everything I'd need to go there. I just need to do well in all my exams and I'll be all set. Starting thinking about university this early, while indeed it is early, is good as I've got some time to think things through and organise everything in advance.
I did quite well for my GCSEs, I got the highest computer science grade in the entire school so I'm pretty proud of that. Other stuff... I could have done better on, but overall I did better than most of my friends. But even if I did bad, I'd go to the presentation evening. When you're older you may be disappointed that you didn't go to something that outlined your future your career.
How'd this randomly go from graduating school to Christmas? XD
Oh, I see. Now I understand what you're doing! I didn't get any Ds, but my friend got... five, I think, and he's still doing well for himself. He went straight into employment and he's on day release to study car mechanics. That sucks about the coursework though. I was afraid my art teacher was going to lose all mine, as he nearly lost my sketchbook in Year 9. But he didn't, so that was good.I only got 3 C grades for GCSE. I needed 5 to do my A levels. All my others were D grades. I did get a U in business studies as my teacher lost my coursework at the last minute and I had no idea till I got the results back.
I past English literature, ICT, and maths. I am redoing Science and English language and also doing a diploma in Business. That will give me up to 5 more GCSE grades. I should pass this year then move onto A levels next year. All of my friends did better than me. I am the only one that is behind them.
It's not about quantity .. as much as quality ..Also, Nica, this is a better subject as our posts seem to have more content in them than yours. D:

So you're retaking Year 11 GCSE year, so you're with students that are younger than you, right? I think I understand what you're doing, anyway. But good luck. A levels are quite hard. x_x

My business teacher even said I had gotten all my coursework handed in on my report. The report was given to me just after I had finished my test. So I have no idea how she lost it after that.
I am still with students the same age as me. Just doing the same as the year bellow. But next year I will be with the students that are a year younger than me. If I was with the younger students I would be embarrassed. I am only one year ahead of my sister now. She takes the micky out of me quite regularly because of it.
I've kinda "graduated" from my high school now, I guess. The system is different to America, but I've finished the compulsory education students have to undertake. I have to get my certificates for my exams presented to me yet though, even though I'm now at a higher high school (XD) and I finished the said education last May. The presentation evening was supposed to be in November, but the school e-mailed around saying that they didn't think they'd have all the certificates in on time because there was a technical computer issue with the... computer science results. XD;
I'm surprised, seeing as you had a report that you had all your coursework on, that you didn't get some credit for it. I mean, yes, if you lose your coursework, tough, but if the teacher look the blame there should be something that you can get partial credit for to help your grade. If it really isn't your fault, then you couldn't help that your teacher lost it if you handed it it.My business teacher even said I had gotten all my coursework handed in on my report. Oh, sorry. Whenever I read high school I make an automatic assumption. I apologise. How many years is compulsory for you then? Up to year 12?I don't live in America... ^^;;
I live in Australia and just finished year 12. =D
Next year I'll be doing study, which I guess means preparation for Uni, since I wasn't good enough to get into Uni.
Actually no, I just couldn't be bothered doing the test that gets you into uni. ;x

I may not be quite a year 12 yet, but i thought i was cumpulsory to stay in school 'till the end of year 12. Well, if you're kinda... not academically gifted you could leave before your GCSE exams start.
Not too sure though.

And for those curious, compulsory education ends in Australia when your 14 years and 9 months old, though most just go to finish year 10.
In the UK, compulsory education ends at the end of Year 11. Your GCSEs begin at the start of Year 10 and carry through for two years, then you have the choice to study AS and A2 levels at years 12 and 13 after which you either leave education and get a job or apply to university.

That's earlier than here in New Zealand. Here it's only when you're 16 that you can drop out of school and go get a job or something elsewhere with only high school education.
I'm surprised that you're allowed to drop out of school before you finish your GCSEs. If you could, then there'd be no point of forcing students to go to school for, in your case, 11 years if you weren't to get anything out of it. Most jobs require you to show your qualifications, and GCSEs are the basic minimum. Note you need to have A levels or a diploma of some sort such as a course that gives the same qualifications as A levels to apply to university.Well, I don't technically live in the UK. Although close. Over here you have to start studying for GCSE at year 11, and keep doing so 'till year 12 obviously. Then, as i previously explained, you can leave before or after the GCSE exams at least. But I would presume that these people that drop put early don't plan on going to university.
