I looked over at Kuroi as he mentioned his dilslike for commoners and eating with them. I smiled as noticed what Hachino-sensei was doing to Kuroi. 'So Hachino-sensei likes to play with people's minds? Very nice!'

I followed the slow moving Hachino-sensei to his place for soba noodles. I walked far from Kuroi, giving the arrognant prince his space. The black blades had come loose on my arm and I started to re-arrange them as we wallked. 'I can't stand this, nobody's talking, they're just walking in creepy silence in this creepy, gloomy village.' I fixed my blades and addressed Hachino-sensei. "If you don't mind my asking sensei, but what exactly made you the least popular Jounin in Sound?" I braced myself for an attack, 'if being late didn't cause him to attack, this will most likely do it!'

Many have said that the village in the Lightning country was just as big as that in the Leaf, yet had approximately a fifth of the population. The streets were usually empty, save for the storekeepers welcoming anyone and everyone who passed by their shops. Miharu loved to stroll about the streets, trying to meet everyone in the village. She would always greet them with a great smile on her face, and a friendly "Hello!" or "Hi there!" or some other similar sort of greeting. So practically everyone knew her. And most of the people liked her. Most

"Wait a sec..." Yukiru-sensei said, as if he just remembered something. "What's wrong?" Miharu said. She looked at her teacher semi-worriedly. He dug his hands into his pockets, seemingly searching for something. Miharu, confused, continued to look at Yukiru-sensei. Shuichi, on the other hand, was not aware of their conversation, and was walking a few meters behind him. He was playing with the hair that hung over his face. Suddenly, Yukiru-sensei's face lit up. He pulled something black out of his pocket, which looked like a money pouch.

"Ah! There it is!" Yukiru-sensei said gleefully. "What is it, Yukiru-sensei?" Miharu asked. "It's my wallet! I thought I lost it! By the way, we're going for ramen, right? Do you mind paying for me?" Miharu nearly tripped and fell after hearing his reply. My teacher... Is a cheapskate, Miharu thought to herself. Miharu chuckled for a bit, then looked back at Shuichi. Under the mat of hair that covered his face, he seemed to be smiling, laughing, almost. He pushed one side of his hair back, to reveal that he was smiling.

Finally, they arrived at the ramen stall. It was small little shop, compared to the others, that could occupy around 10 people. Yukiru-sensei, Miharu and Shu were the only customers there. Even so, the sight of people coming into their shop made the shopkeeper very happy indeed, as he and the other people who worked there smiled as they prepared the ramen.

OOC: You can control Hachino too if you want Dark Night. ^^; I'm sorry if it seems like I'm taking the liberty of doing all the Sound description's myself.

IC: Hachino-sensei glanced over his shoulder and smiled, "Well, I'm glad that it's not as obvious as I'd imagined it to be." He took a deep breath and took his time to get started with the explanation. His slow moving pace irritated me to no end, but I didn't make it clear by voicing it, I just simply kept quiet as he told his story that seemed blatantly obvious to me.

"Well, let's see, I'm not exactly a cruel and sadistic person, so that's probably one of the main motives, but then again, I'm kind of like you in a way," Hachino-sensei drawled, "I don't like long drawn out torture sessions, and it makes me worldly different from the other Jounin's and Sensei's. A black sheep you might say, but you'll see that there are actually a lot of good people in Sound," He said optimistically, "...They're just... usually the one's that get tested on." Hachino-sensei's voice kind of deflated from optimism, but he continued with even more vigor, "But don't worry, when you're your age, only the trouble maker's that get on Orochimaru-sama's nerves get tested on. The quiet ones that don't make a ruckus usually tend to be safe." Hachino-sensei shook his head and piped, "And here we are!"

I made a face at the underground apartment building. For some reason, Orochimaru liked to have the buildings underground, so that Sound would be easier to hide, and mostly, harder to find. A shinobi could pass through this area and never realize that an entire village lay beneath his feet- especially during the lock-down times, when shinobi from other countries passed through, thinking they weren't trespassing at all.

The building was clean and orderly, and smelled of nothing. My eyes automatically sealed themselves together as tightly as possible when the bright light Hachino-sensei's apartment was thrust upon my eyelids. Horrid, disgusting, vile, sensei. He pulled out three boxes of pre-made soba noodles and I could feel my face turning purple. Pre-made food. I'd eaten it before, of course, but I disliked it with a passion. The light flavors of the food seemed to be completely wasted away in those plastic bowls.

"Make yourselves comfortable, or as comfortable as you can get." He smiled cheerfully- directly at me, and I sweatdropped, wondering exactly what he had against me. I sat down on the small tatami mat surrounding the low table in the middle of the room. I wondered where Hachino-sensei slept, but decided that he probably didn't get much sleep, let alone sleep in his home, judging from the tired atmosphere he gave off.

I sat indian styled, arms folded as I followed the lines on the tatami mat with my eyes. Why bother sitting respectfully around people who wouldn't make a difference in the stature of my life? I shook my head mentally- no, that was an overly arrogant way to think, the Elder would admonish me at once for that thought, or the suggestion that nobody was good enough to try to impress. I took a deep breath and complained that these people weren't good enough to go around using good manners and that crap. I decided that I'd say I was being respectful and obliging to Hachino-sensei's "orders" to make myself comfortable, if the Elder's stupid far-vision caught me sitting like this.

I watched as Guy arrived, seeing him approach with a jumpsuit I stuck out my hand. "dont even ask" I said coldly, not even looking at him. He closed his mouth, having been about to ask me again to put it on. "like I said, it clashes with my eyes" I added, grinning. Guy chuckled shortly "well then, ill get you a black one!" he said estaticly. I twitched a bit and sighed. "look, its not any disrespect, but this is special clothing given to my by my parents" I explained, rolling back the sleeve of teh trench coat and revealing the hidden pockets within it "it holds my tools untill I need them, and my under shirt has clips on it that connect to my gloves, Im from the takamine clan which means they are skeletal and may fall appart at times, so I need these gloves to keep from losing any bones" I said. Guy looked downtrodden but nodded "if that is your decision, then so be it, but dont come begging to me for one when your normal clothes become too uncomfortable for you to continue training!" he said, putting away the jumpsuit. I sighed shortly, looking up at him adn sliding my glasses back up the bridge of my nose. "I wont, and unless you havent noticed" I said, removing the trenchcoat and dropping it on a metal bench, creating a large dent in it "my coat is weighted." Saying this brought a look of admaration across guy's face, showing how pleased he was to see that I used weights to train. He walked away to find out what was going on from some of the other shinobi, which allowed me to see the sand ninja from my squad enter....wearing a green jumpsuit. I nearly fell over from shock, not expecting HIM, the tough guy, to break under pressure.

As Shiruba began to talk, Ason looked at him like he had no idea what was going on."What is he talking about? I didn't try to keep him out of the village. Does seem like something i'd do...why didn't I do it? What exactly are you talking about, I didn't do anything of the sort. Mokutou and I were at the hot srings training. Oh and by the way, I taught myself a new technique, without your help." Tsunade had gotten sick of the arguing and stopped everyone's conversations. "OK! I have gathered you all to tell you that we are going to be having ninja from the other country's come here for the chuunin exams. Why am I telling you this? Because I do not want to repeat what happened a couple years ago, with Orichimaru." Ason suddenly became interested in what was being said. "Orichimaru? Hm, he is said to be really powerful. I'd like to test that." "Now, don't be surprised if a ninja from another country shows up. It may seem to early but the chuunin exams will be in a week. That is all." Ason returned his glare back to Shiruba. "Well, are we actually going to train for the chuunin exams, with some real training exercises? We only have a week."

XD Don't worry about it!^^

Backtracking

I relaxed yet again as Hachino-sensei only turned back and smiled. I had to admit I was glad that he wasn't one of the ones to attack, I didn't want to reveal more things than I needed. I walked slowly and steadily as I listended to Hachino-sensei's explanation. I could kinda tell, but I was bored just not having anybody talk so I just wanted to know, call me a nosey person.

As Hachino-sensei mentioned people in Sound actually being good I scoffed at that, smiling to myself. 'People actually being good?! I very highly doubt that!' Then when I heard people being tested on, my smile faded and I looked at the ground. 'People being tested on?! I'd read about it, but I didn't think that it was true. What kind of person is Orochimaru-sama anyway?!'

Present

I noticed the dirty look that Kuroi gave Hachio-sensei's home. I couldn't believe this kid, not even to show a little curtosy to our sensei. I was glad to finally see some light in this darkly gloomy place, my eyes took a little while to adjust but I liked the light. I smiled as I sat down on the tiny tatami mat and sat like Kuroi without my arms folded. I relaxed a bit and looked around the apartment, 'At least he's not a pig.' I thought as I looked around at the little things that was in Hachino-sensei's apartment.

As we were sitting on the tiny tatami mat, I couldn't help but ask Hachino-sensei if what he had said about Orochimaru-sama testing on people was true. 'I should at least find out as much about Sound as possible. Maybe I could even to talk to Hachino-sensei a little about what I wanted to do.'

Hachino-sensei looked up at me, smiling a bit. "You ask a lot of questions about Sound for a gennin who I heard knows a lot about the history." He said as he looked at me with a bit of amusement on showing on his face. My mouth was dry and it was hard for me to talk for a couple of seconds. "Huh? No, I'd just heard rumors that Orochimaru-sama had been doing that, but I didn't know that it was true untill ou mentioned it sensei." I hid my nervousness away from Hachino-sensei and Kuroi. 'Could Hachino-sensei know that I'm a Dark Ninja already?!'

The ramen stall smelt of wet noodles. A cloud of hot steam hit Miharu in the face. The sounds of clinking, splashing, and groans from one person to another filled the tiny corner stall. Shuichi's attention was passed from his hair, to the cooks, who moved as quickly as they could to make their dish. Shuichi, for the first time since he first spoke to Miharu, opened his mouth to say something.

"Why are they only making one--"
"Uh... Orange!" Miharu quickly interrupted Shuichi before he could say any more. She boldly grabbed him by his navy blue vest's sleeve, and dragged him outside the shop. Yukiru was unknowing of what was happening outside, and began to count the coins in his money pouch. He stopped for a moment, sniffed in the growing smell of miso soup ramen, and sighed with satisfaction before continuing with his 'business'.

"Never, and I mean never, say anything about the fact that they only serve miso soup ramen and nothing else." Miharu's voice sounded more strict than usual. "They take pride in their miso soup ramen." Shuichi nodded, as if he understood everything. "What would have happened if I did--"
"You wouldn't want to know..." Miharu interrupted. This sentence made Shuichi something new to think about. What did happen to the people who asked this question? Were they dropped in a tub of boiling water? Were they beaten, then tied with ramen noodles, then thrown out of the shop forever? I guess I'll never find out, Shuichi thought, while shrugging. The two then walked together into the small shop.

Inside, they found that their ramen were finished, and Yukiru already started helping himself to some of his. The two sat down on their seats, staring at the bowl of miso soup ramen in front of them. They both picked up their chopsticks, broke it, and at the same time, said, "Itadakimasu!" They used their chopsticks to pick up several strands of ramen noodles, and began to ate. Yukiru, who was sitting in the middle, with Miharu to his right and Shuichi to his left, looked at Miharu. He saw that she was left handed...

Mokutou became excited. "Great! Now Ason-kun and me can see more dark ninjas around here!" He took his Kusanagi and squeezed it with his right hand. "Ason-kun, maybe we will get to see the other ninjas." Mokutou smiled as he was ready to see the other dark ninjas, but then became depressed. "Ason-kun, will you teach me how to master the Eye Transfer Jutsu in a week? Maybe if I exert more chakra, then I might be able to learn it quicker than any ninja. Please Ason-kun, I wanna learn it starting right now." He knelt down with his head also down infront of Ason.

Taiki raised his eyebrow. "What? A guy can't like a green jumpsuit? Besides, my old clothes weren't very suited for Konoha wear. They were designed for desert travel, and let too much heat escape. Besides, I have something for you..." his hand slowly brushed against the chain. After a short mental debate of "To fire or not to fire?" he managed to temporarily stifle his desire to put a chain through Haru's gut and watch him detonate. Instead, he darted over to the discarded trenchcoat, and felt it for a moment. "Weighted? You train with weights? Jeez, no kidding. That's a bit odd, considering you don't even have the muscles necessary to move your hands... they're being controlled by chakra strings, aren't they? Kind of like Kankuro's puppets," he commented, remembering the member of the sand three who had taught him during his academy days. An interesting bloodline, he commented to himself, But I'm willing to bet that you can't do much except launch bones in terms of ninjutsu. Your clan has essentially sacrificed versatility in favor of sheer terror. Still, it's an unusual ability, being able to control chakra strings without the use of actual hands. It reminds me of those weird Dark abilities... Taiki had only vague memories of the Dark Village. His father had been one of the attacking shinobi. All he knew was that their jutsu were dependent on the ability to send chakra through the brain, thus amplifying their mental powers to extreme levels. The so-called "light seal", as his father had called the jutsu that had been their demise, was in fact a mind-numbing jutsu that reflected their own brainwaves back at them, effectively sealing their ninjutsu. At least, he reminded himself, that was what they said. Whether it's true or not depends on whether it was too great a secret to keep. Shaking his head to break himself out of his thoughtful moment, he reached into the coat quickly- nothing but bones. "I guess you don't have much taste in weaponry huh?" he joked, tossing one to his new partner. It wouldn't hurt to at least have a little fun, after all. Anyway, the sand and the leaf were allies, and it was time that he started exemplifying it.

At least, a little. he thought to himself as he remembered his earlier theft of the wallets of the wall-guards. Not even Guy-sensei had noticed. Perhaps he was becoming a better pickpocket then a chain-gunner.

Tsunade's voice broke through his thoughts. "Shinobi of the leaf, I have called you here to say..."

A mischevious voice in Taiki's head whispered, Oh boy, a speech. She loves hearing herself talk. Are all Konoha shinobi this wrapped up in themselves?

I looked over at him. "bones are more versitile than you know" I said, a few bones coming out of one of my weapon packs, attatching themselves to the ends of my gloves like claws "they can be formed into different weapons, such as these claws, swords, kunai, shuriken, cages, or even" I said, pulling my scyth from my back "a replica of this" I said "which reminds me, you deal with chain weapons, corect?" I said, pulling out a long chain connected to a weight at one end and a scyth at the other "im a master with a scyth, but a chain scyth is a much different tool..Im actually lucky to have no hands" I chuckled, handing it to him "maybe you'd have better use of it, and if you got a black suit instaid, it would heat much quicker" I added as an afterthought, pulling my trenchcoat back on, strapping my scyth to my back again.

OOC: Could've sworn I'd posted... o o;; Anyway, this is kind of crap, I know, but do let it pass. >.<

IC:My gaze turned sharply towards Hiryuku-san, and Hachino-sensei placed three bowls on the table, each with their own pair of plain wooden chopsticks. I swiveled my food around in the bowl, tapping my chopsticks on the edge of the plastic bowl to break the rather unsettling silence. Hachino-sensei sighed and murmured, "Itadakimasu." He took his time to respond to Hiryuku-san's invading question, and when he finally decided to answer, he only said, "I wouldn't tell you that, even if I knew." Hachino-sensei gave her a wry, kind of apologetic smile, but I scoffed, and ate my soba noodles grudgingly. How absolutely and utterly rude of her to ask a question that was obviously something not to be spoken of in Sound. She was surely not a native. If her attitude and her attire didn't give it away, it was the way she spoke.

As if I were a snake compared to the rest of Sound. I almost laughed at her, but my face remained as stony as ever. I ate my soba noodles in silence, my eyes surveying Hachino-sensei's clean apartment, which had a smell of… medicines, underlying the smell of utterly nothing. It was simplistic enough, and I finished half- exactly, half, of my soba noodles before putting my chopsticks down, Hachino-sensei with his two chopsticks hanging from his mouth lazily while he dug around for something in a trunk that seemed to be used as an end table.

I folded my arms again, and Hachino-sensei rolled his eyes. I didn't like Hachino-sensei. Hachino-sensei didn't like Kira's. It all worked out for me.

Hachino-sensei placed steaming bowls of soba noodles in front of Kuroi and myself. He took the remaining bowl for himself and sat down cross-legged like Kuroi and I. I looked down at it and smelled it. It smelt almost the way that my mom used to cook it, it brought back good, but sad memories.

I knew that Hachino-sensei wouldn't answer my question. No one seemed to want to answer any of my questions. 'Maybe I should just shut up, I can find out things on my own. Besides, my questions have probably already given me away.' I looked down at my forehead protector that was on my arm. To everyone else, it was a regular Sound forehead protector, but to me, it was the one I'd received from the Dark Village Acedemy. I didn't want to wear anything from Sound, even though it's where my family came from, it still doesn't mean that I had to like it.

We sat in silence most of the time, eating our steaming soba noodles. I couldn't stand the silence, back in Dark, my family and I were always talking to each other or someone else, there was hardly any silence, that was how we liked it. I looked at Kuroi as he folded his arms and just sat there with exactly half of the soba noodles eaten. "Hachino-sensei?" I asked as he was searching through a chest, "I'd heard that the chuunin exams are comeing up soon, are we going?"

Kuroi blinked. Chuunin Exams. A smirk broke onto his unfeeling face and his respect for Hachino-sensei was practically reset. Suddenly, the soba noodle's bland taste wasn't burning his tastebuds, suddenly, Kuroi didn't mind that Hiryuku-san wasn't exactly his first choice for a teammate, in fact, probably his last. And suddenly, Hachino-sensei seemed to become as emotionless as Kuroi, as he chewed -slowly- on his soba noodles. Standing up, Kuroi couldn't sit still, and suddenly wanted to train- train like there was no tomorrow. Hachino-sensei, however, had a different idea.

"Sit down Kuroi." He said firmly, and Kuroi reluctantly sat down, and he continued, "I don't believe that you two are ready for this exam." Kuroi tapped his fingernail against the sleek metal forehead protector, with the symbol for Sound etched into it, as Hachino-sensei blabbered on, "But. I'm certainly not going to be the first Jounin to tell Orochimaru-sama no, so I want you two to be careful- very, very careful. There are lot's of genin with ten times as much experience as you. I won't lie and tell you I'm not worried, and I won't tell you that I have full-confidence in your skills- because I don't." Kuroi's eye narrowed, "But try your best and don't feel ashamed to..." He stared pointedly at Kuroi, "Back out."

Both of Kuroi's eyes narrowed, and his respect for his sensei dropped back to the depths of the earth. Kira's. Never. Backed down.

"Well isn't that great. Why us?"

"It's an honor, isn't it, Tsuyoi?"

"All I can say is don't get yourself stabbed by a pencil during the written test. That'd be a retarded way to go!"

I could hear Kikari-sensei's laughter ringing in my ears and I opened my eyes, noticing Tsuyoi lounging on the end of my bed (so thats what the weight next to my feet was,) Hayaii sitting next to my bed and Kikari-sensei sitting on a stool with her legs crossed, one over the other.

"Shioko-san!" Hayaii smiled and I blinked, my eyes focusing and noticing that he looked rather relieved to see me awake. It made me smile, and he let out a breath he seemed to have been holding for a long time, "Are you alright?"

"LEAVE!"

I was quiet and then nodded, "Yeah, I'm alright. I must've gotten dizzy from the cold." I sat up with Hayaii's help and Tsuyoi was toying with his kunai, seemingly deep in thought as Kikari-sensei informed me that we'd been chosen for the Chuunin Exam. I frowned and wondered what Ongi-sama would say to this, but I didn't voice my concern. Hayaii commented on the obvious to Tsuyoi: I was awake. Tsuyoi simply glanced at me, most of the malice and hatred no longer in his green eyes, but he said nothing. Hayaii grinned and said, "What was that move you used on me? That was amazing, I felt like my leg had vanished- Actually, I was... kind of afraid it'd have to be amputated, but after you were knocked out my leg felt better, so I guessed it was some technique or something."

My hands trembled at the barrage of questions and Kikari-sensei interuppted me, "Taijutsu at a well-aimed angle, nothing more Hayaii. Hikaei, do you think you're ready for this? We can reject the offer if you feel like it." Kikari-sensei looked utterly serious, and Tsuyoi's eyes flashed warningly at me, as if daring me to reject. I glanced at each person on my team: Hayaii, who looked genuinely concerned and who I knew would accept my decision, Kikari-sensei, who looked bored with the idea, and Tsuyoi. Who looked positively frightening, his eyes staring straight at me.

"I-I d-don't really have a p-p-preference." I mumbled, and Tsuyoi stood up abruptly, lifting the weight on the end of the bed I was on, and he announced, "It's decided then. We'll go. When are we leaving?"

Kikari-sensei smiled and said, "Tomorrow. We are rather far from Konohagakure." Hayaii stood up as well, and put his hand on my shoulder, "Don't let Tsuyoi bully you into it," Tsuyoi's glare snapped towards me and Hayaii, "are you sure?" I blinked and nodded, giving Hayaii a reassuring smile, and attempting to do the same for Tsuyoi. Tsuyoi's eyes just narrowed even more and he shoved his hands into his pockets, looking anywhere but at me.

"Time for some more training then? Think you're up to it Hikaei?" Kikari-sensei asked, and I nodded, reaching to pull the arm bands on my forearms up higher, but when I felt soft skin and flesh, I froze, and looked down wildly. My tattoo's were completely exposed, and I snatched my arm bands away from Hayaii, who was holding them out to me. "Please don't remove these again." I mumbled, and I rushed out of the side room after Kikari-sensei.

Tsuyoi was already on the training grounds when I finished pulling on my arm bands. I stood where I was and he simply waited for Kikari-sensei to tell us to begin, looking again, anywhere but at me.

"Go ahead." It was instantaneous. I closed my eyes and took a breath to prepare myself to use my taijutsu, but I made a mistake- I thought close-range attacks were my talent, but it seemed as if standing 7 feet away from Tsuyoi- seemingly just close enough, for him to run up as fast as he could go, was a bad idea. His strength was immense- and I decided that Hayaii was a quick attacker, a long range person, and Tsuyoi, a strong and heavy attacker who was at least twice as slow as Hayaii. I slammed into the ground, and saw Hayaii slap his forehead. Tsuyoi seemed surprised that I'd been so easily taken down, as he muttered a quick, "Sorry," and helped me up.

But I was good at taking any opening my opponents would give me, and I took his hand, seeing him falter at how easily I'd accepted his gesture when he'd originally been so mean, but I stabbed at his other arm, with my free hand, disabling his limbs using the hand I grasped tightly and making it seem as if I was his acrobatic partner. But my angle was bad, due to having to hold him in place and prevent him from adding to the pulsing bruise on my stomach, and his arm grabbed my shoulder, his expression far from friendly, making me freeze.

"Some kind of technique." He smirked and pushed me with all his might to my left, and Hayaii easily caught me before I slammed into the wall, "We're done." Tsuyoi announced, knowing that had Hayaii not caught me, I would've been out of action for at least until the Chuunin Exam was over, "The girl can't hold her ground against a scary opponent Kikari-sensei." He folded his arms and Hayaii sighed, patting me on the head and saying apologetically, "You did well. I can't beat Tsuyoi in anything but speed and smarts, so don't worry about it."

Kikari-sensei shrugged, "I know. Hikaei." She glanced at me, "What's your name?"

I tightened my grip on Hayaii's chinese shirt, and he blinked, "Shioko Hikaei, right?"

Kikari-sensei stared at me and for the longest moment I was quiet before I nodded. Tsuyoi's scornful voice bit at me when he snapped, "Like we'd believe you after you had to think about it for that long." Kikari-sensei glanced at Tsuyoi and silenced him with a look, before nodding and saying, "When you're ready, you'll tell us who you are, won't you?" I would never be ready, but I nodded, and Hayaii stared at me uneasily. I avoided his gaze and stood up again.

"Hayaii, Tsuyoi, your turn. Hikaei, fix Tsuyoi's limbs." Kikari-sensei pointed at each of us, giving us directions, and I immediately held my chakra encased hand over each of the places I'd disabled him. Tsuyoi was ignoring me to the fullest, and smirking at Hayaii, who was smiling pleasantly. I wanted out of the way, and when I was done, Tsuyoi moved me aside stepping forward, Hayaii's smile turning sly when Hayaii took a step back in turn. "Begin." Kikari-sensei said with a yawn.

I looked up at Kuroi as he stood up, I knew the information of the chuunin exams had gotten him excited. I had to admit that they got me excited as well, but I wouldn't show it. I was going to be advanced to the Chuunin level in Dark when the other villages attacked. The only reason I was really excited was becuase we would go to Konoha, and meet other shinobi, mostly, Dark Ninja.

I dropped my wooden chopsticks into my bowl of soba noodles. I looked with an incredulous look at Hichino-sensei. "What?!! Not go to the Chuunin exams?!" Right now I was extremely furious, but I wouldn't let anything slip about why I really wanted to go, just becuase of anger. "Why not?! You haven't even seen us in real action yet. We're a lot better than we look!" I didn't care that I was speaking for Kuroi as well, I just wanted to convince Hachino-sensei to let us go. "You should at least give us the chance to be able to go. I don't know where you grew up, but I was taught not to back down, ever! I was so furious and I couldn't understand that Hachino-sensei wouldn't let us go to the Chuunin exams. 'Stupid sensei! You don't what you're doing. You're ruining my chance to see the other Dark Ninja!'

((Sorry for the bad post, but I nearly broke one of my fingers today and don't feel like straining it while typing a lot.))

"Don't play dumb, Ason. I can tell the difference between chakras, and I recognized yours as clear as day. You put a barrier up around the village after you know I left." Shiruba heard the insulting comment about real training exercises, and decided that he would stop trying to impress them and just train them for the exams. After all, this would be a brutal time in their lives.

"First off, we will begin with some of the basics, such as water walking and climbing trees with chakra. However, I shall modify it so can convert your stamina into more chakra." Shiruba clapped his hands together, focusing his chakra into them. They glowed blue, and he put one on each of the genin's shoulders. Within a few seconds, nearly all of their chakra had been drained and they were left to rely on stamina alone.

"Now for the first training session. We will travel back out to the hot springs, and I will fight both of you on the water. I have left you with enough chakra to support you on the water, and that is all. If you try a jutsu, you will lose the ability to stand on the water and fall in. Seeing as it's the hot springs, falling in is the last thing you'd want to do. Now then, the goal is to beat me in hand-to-hand combat and make ME fall in. Trust me when I say I will last long enough to raise your chakra levels by a considerable amount." Shiruba knew that this was a good training routine, as he had practiced it numerous times with his sensei. Granted, he had all of his chakra at the time, but it wore out in half an hour.

Shiruba didn't bother repeating himself, and immediately took off towards the hot springs again.

OOC:That is ok you don't have to post too much. Just try your best. I'm like really sick and am trying to concentrate on what i'm doing.

IC: Ason raised his eye brow's to show that he looked a bit interested. "Now that's what I call training, I need to practice my upper body strength.Ok, lets go!" Ason closed his eyes and thought.I am getting way to nice." As Ason opened his eyes, he noticed that both Shiruba and Mokutou had left. "Jerks." He then jumped out of the room to the hot springs. "Hm, this may be hard for me, I always fixate on using my telekinetic powers that I barely try hand to hand. Wait, if I use my Lexon technique, I can pretend to be standing on water. Then I can use my Matria technique to slow down Shiruba's attacks. But that would force me to use too much chakra and I would fall into the water. Well, I guess I have to fallow the rules." After a few minutes, Ason and the others had arrived at the hot springs. "Ok, lets do this!" Said Ason while walking onto the water. "Lets see if he is worthy to be called my sensei."

"A little too quickly. Hmm, this reminds me of Grandpa's weapon. And the metal forged into it seems to be fairly pure. Thanks!" Taiki grinned, tossing the scythe-ended chain up and down. "Oh, and one other thing- I was lying earlier. My chain really is weakest at that link. Maybe not quite as weak as you thought, but still breakable. It was a mistake on the part of the guy who forged it. Dad nearly impaled him when he found out that his oldest son had been given a weapon with a weak point. Oh, and thanks for the clothing advice, but I'll stick with this for a while." he lowered his voice to an undertone, "At least, long enough to get the full benefit of training with weighted clothing. These things are about as heavy as your coat!" he muttered, pointing to the weights now strapped to his legs.

"Konoha shinobi... blah-blah-blah... danger... blah-blah-blah... all available hands...." Tsunade droned.

"Jeez, can she just cut to the chase? It's like we're listening to a friggin' oration here!" Taiki growled, before Guy thwacked the back of his head, forcing him to rub the hurt area. "What the heck was that for?" he demanded angrily.

"Show some respect and listen! Tsunade is the leader of Konoha, and you are bound to obey her orders!" the older shinobi hissed.

"Yeah, until I get back to sand..." Taiki muttered.

"What was that?"

"I said, um, there nothing in my hand! See? SEE?"

"Fine, fine, but keep it quiet! She's almost ready to finish briefing us."

Miharu turned to her right to find Yukiru-sensei looking at her with interest. Her mouth was filled with noodles, which went down to her bowl. She quickly pulled the noodles into her mouth, with the aid of her chopsticks. When about five centimeters of the noodles were left sticking out, she sucked it all in in one big slurp. Miharu blushed for a bit, then looked at Yukiru-sensei slightly confused, as if to say, 'Is there anything wrong?' Yukiru-sensei shook his head in an apologetic way, and turned towards his noodles. Miharu shrugged, then continued to eat aswell.

---

"Aah... That was good." Yukiru-sensei said, patting his full stomach. Miharu nodded in agreement. Shuichi started to play with his hair again, and gave a slight nod. "Now... Who's paying for me?" Miharu nearly fell off her seat. Shuichi made an inaudible sigh, then looked directly at Miharu. She, once again, nearly fell of her chair. What!?! They both want me to pay for them!? I can't believe those two... Miharu sighed. She fished out her money pouch out of her pocket, and placed the sufficient amount of money on the table. Those who worked in the shop smiled, and bowed politely at her. The shop owner, an aged woman with pink-ish hair, wearing a bleached, white apron quickly grabbed the money off the table. The team then walked away from the shop, and onto the main road of the village.

"Hey, I have an idea..." Yukiru-sensei said, rubbing his chin with his forefinger and thumb. "Why don't we have a training session?" Miharu and Shuichi stopped moving, and looked at Yukiru-sensei, who walked a few steps, stopped, then turned around to look at his students.

"Are you serious?" Miharu asked.
"Of course. You two against me." Yukiru said, nodding his head slightly.
"That sounds fair." Shuichi said, seemingly agreeing to the idea.
"Well, yeah, but where?"
"Hmm... There's a clearing behind the school. We could battle there."

The two students looked at each other. They seemed to be communicating with their eyes, changing their look at each other every now and then. Yukiru-sensei inserted his hands into his pockets, and waited for a reply. He waited for the two to finish their inaudible conversation. Miharu and Shuichi both nodded, then looked at Yukiru-sensei.

"Well?"
"We'll do it." The two students said in unity.

Shiruba studied both of the genin while they all stood on the steaming hot water of the springs. Normally he learned an opponent's techniques at a distance first, but that was not an option due to the fact that they both lacked the chakra needed to support themselves AND use their techniques at the same time. Forgetting about examining them, he stretched his arms and legs, then raised his left arm in the air.

"Ready, set...Go." Shiruba brought his arm down swiftly, and stood still as he waited for the first attack. This would, no doubt, reveal to him how his team fought. Would it be a group attack, or simple one-on-one combat? A group attack was always the best bet when possible, but did THEY know that?

((Simple combat rule/refresher course: No auto-hits.))

"Crud, Mokutou can't see unless I use eye transfer. But then we both would fall into the water. We have to work as a team though. Lets see, I have five kunai, four shuriken, a couple of soldier pills, and twelve needles." Ason began to get very doubtful. "OK!" Ason ran toward Shiruba. "While I distract Shiruba, Mokutou can be able to attack him with ease." Ason took out three needles and put them between his fingers. Ason then jumped into the air and threw the three needles at shiruba. While still in the air, Ason then fallowed up with a kick. "Go Mokutou!" Ason yelled.
