Death!?

Hmm...I just realized...if I didn't believe in God, there would be no point in living.

So your on the earth for 75 years, and then your done...so what? your dead, never coming back, never feeling anything, you don't even KNOW your dead!

Christians never die...

I'm not Christian though :P... I'm Katolikas.

I dunno... I see many points to being alive and I'm not that religious myself. =\ (I'm kinda... "finding myself" or something. I don't believe in the religion I was born into, but until I learn more about other religions, I don't want to label myself an atheist either.) I like to think that everyone chooses their own reason to live, and when that doesn't work out or something, you either choose something else to live for and move on with your life, or you end up choosing to end it right there without trying again. @_@

*wonders slightly if that made sense* x.o;;
My religious beliefs are odd. Its like the addon to Christianity (SP?). Science over ruling stuff (Old Testament) and Jesus being married and having living descendants at the present day.

I'm alot of things (okay that's a lie) I'm Catholic... What a fun 2000 year old religion -_- I blame the Romans :P

What happen to that religion you made up yourself? *Wait I think of have you confused with someone else..XD*

I've never been very fond of the catholic religion...I've always felt that they didn't take life after death seriously enough...you WILL be judged, no matter how good or high up you are...

=\ Hmm... I'm not familiar with many other branches of Christianity, since I've been going to Catholic churches/schools since I was born, but Catholicism does say that everyone is judged, but in a more positive way that that sounds. x_X I wouldn't want to live under a religion in which you know that once you die, you'll be subjected to judgement or something like that... maybe Catholicism just sugar-coats it or something by dwelling more so on heaven and that instead of the in-between.

._. Gah, religion sort of fascinates me at times, but only when I don't have to play an active role in it, lol.

Ain`t they them Sprinkle that Water on my head people? Also they scare me o_O They Mary Worshippers.

Catholicism is an amazing religion. They are blind to all races and sexes and that is an amazing feat no other religion has yet to accomplish. Do you attend mass regularly or are you nonorthodox?

That may be offensive to other Catholics, even though it was only an opinion. But no, I believe they dunk their children to baptise them. In the Methodist branch they sprinkle water for baptism. I may be wrong though about the Catholicism way. Baptists also dunk their children for baptism.

I read something in the Bible in the Revelations chapter, and my church said (christian church) that Catholics are very likely to go to h*ll. Oo;; They say Christians don't worship God in a "good" way. I heard they have drinking parties O_O;;

*dies*

=\ My brother wasn't "dunked," and we're Roman-Catholic, so... maybe only certain churches do that, or maybe a different type of Catholic. I dunno. :\

We're kind of getting off topic here. @_@;

I wasn't "dunked" either. Maybe some branches of Christianity do that, not all. LOL Lets drown the baby. That'll teach 'em to worship God.

Drinking parties o_O I think some Catholics may drink real wine with communion, but that's the extent of it... I seriously doubt they have drinking parties.

I, for one, have nothing against Catholics even though some of their practices are different than mine since I'm a protestant. There should be less rivalries between the two divisions, different as they may be...I think 500 years of this is long enough.

I doubt a devout Catholic will be sent to ****...the big debate between Catholics and Protestants is about the free choice in baptism. Catholics believe that children, no matter how young, will be sent to **** if they die without being baptized, and thus baptize them shortly after birth, believing that it will save the child for the rest of their life, while Protestants believe that children are exempt from the judgement of God until they lose their innocence to sin at the age of accountability, which is generally around 13. They believe that if a child is baptized without the child's full understanding and consent to the decision, it is invalid. Other differences include the Catholic's beliefs of transubstantiation, pergatory, prayers to the saints and to the virgin Mary, while Protestants do not do or believe these things. Although I strongly lean toward the Protestant view, I still do not think of Catholics as lesser Christians and less deserving of heaven than Protestants (some Protestants think that, but only stuck-up ones)...I would suppose that if a Catholic is faithful to the standard that God holds us all to all their lives, they will gain acceptance into heaven with any other Christian.

I am by no means intending to quash anyone's beliefs, and am merely stating the facts of the opposing viewpoints. I by no means consider one group better than another. If anyone wants me to go into greater detail of why these divisions occur or why I have a certain viewpoint than simply ask, and I will explain all within the grasp of my knowledge on the subject. I am merely attempting to clear up confusion.

I'm afraid of death, because I'm afraid of the unknown. No one really knows what happens. I'd like to hope that some thinking, feeling part of me will go on...but I really think it'll just be *poof*, nothingness. I don't really believe in eternal anything...it's impossible to be happy or in pain forever, anyway. You'd get used to it before long, and lapse into boredom.

LOL, yeah, Cartoon...I'm technically a Catholic myself, and while most of the little traditions are pretty bizarre...I can confidently tell you that there are no Church-sanctioned drinking parties. xD

The whole deal with the Catholic saints and whatnot is that there's a hope that the saints can intercede for you with the divine...they're not being worshipped or anything.

Catholicism as a whole is rather different from the fundamentalist Christian denominations in that it's not like you can go "OMGz I ACEPTT JESUZ CHRITS AS MY SAIVOR!!11!!!11 OMGz NOW IM GOIN 2 HEVEN!!! KTHXBYE"...you're supposedly judged by your moral character and by how much good you've actually done...and then, yeah, you should believe in god and all that.

I guess I'm being a bit hypocritical, 'defending' Catholicism and all when I'm bordering on Atheist at times, but I have this overwhelming drive to be as objective as possible. ^_^;; Oh well.

I disagree. Without the candy-coated promise of an afterlife, there's all the more reason to live. This is your one shot, so you'd better enjoy it, sort of thing.

I'm not like that...most protestants also believe that once you're baptized and accept Jesus as your savior, you have to adhear to the moral and character codes of the Bible. Baptism isn't a free ticket in the least...that's what judgement is for, but those who keep faith all their lives and try their hardest to live a righteous life will not be condemned. I believe that as much as any Catholic, but I, as a protestant, merely believe that there are some differences in the correct way to get there. I know some people that think baptism is a "get out of **** free card" with no strings attached but they're horribly mistaken. Baptism is symbolic of one's pledge to live a righteous life from then until death (and might I add this doesn't mean one has to be perfect...I'm far from perfect but I really do try to be like I'm supposed to be.)

What's the sect where your forced to go to church on Holiday's and Consendata days?

Catholic Baptism does the little cross on the head first with Holy water, then puts the baby in the holy bowl of toilet water

Oh I just wanted to say, I'm not dissing catholics, I'm just saying something I heard @@; Sorry if it sounds discriminating. >_<;;

Electro-Volumnity Shocks would probably be the most Quick, Painful Death.. Drowning also.

I'm still giving my self to the earth when I die.. With a Funeral Pyre.

I doubt drowning would be a quick, easy death...five minutes without oxygen; that's the most horrible, painful death I could ever imagine. If I can barely hold my breath for a minute, imagine what it would be like for five...I wouldn't mind dying slowly, as long as it wasn't painful...
