Do you use legendaries? How do you feel about them?

Do you battle them against other human players, and put them on your custom trainer card and try hard to get the most valuable in your top six Pokémon team?

Or do you only use them mainly in-game because there at least it feels alright with the storyline, and because they are, after all, useful power-packages in-game?

I have an opinion, but I would love to hear yours first ^^

Well, I have no problem in people using legendaries, although I'd rather they didn't. Some of them can just be too... 'uber' is the right word here.

They should be used in their own environment.

That's kind of where I'm coming from. It's like everybody has them, so they aren't really "rare legendaries". If all pokémon suddenly would go real, like, Dialga, Deoxys and Arceus would be the most common ones in peoples teams... Did Gamefreak mean for us to use them this much? They are, after all, the strongest ones, and they can be obtained in one way or another.

Obviously using ubers = no (unless it's in the "uber" metagame...), but I have no problem with legendaries. I hate how many new ones were put into D/P, but oh well. Still, many are weak, like Registeel and Entei.

If Pokemon suddenly go real we're pretty much screwed. Haha, but seriously if that were to happen, you'd know why they were legendaries (being one of a kind) and why they're considered close to gods.

The only reason there's so many of those guys prancing around versus player is because of the countless parallel game worlds where each of those legendaries reside (or are placed in the case of event Pokemon) for each player. And the player, for reasons of their own, just use them in-game and/or versus player.

As for me, I have nothing against them but don't use legendaries. I have my favs and they are placed in my "team box" as mascots but I prefer playing through the game with my starter and the guys I caught and decided to add to my party.

Even I have Them In mY Own Box I Prefer Playing With The Wild Pokemon..

I do use them and the only legendaries I dont like using are ones I hate.

No I have no wi-fi but I battle my best friend with them. Custom trainer card.... depends.
Its okay to have a valuable pokemon on my team.

Yes, of course I use them in-game.

Anti-popculture: Yes, I have to remind myself there's a difference between all legendaries and the ubers sometimes... And there's far too many of them these days. The elves and regis made my eyes go darker... ^^

Isaac Gravity: Haha, well I more, like, meant if they would go real like *POP* right now since many people have them on their teams. And I also always have a "team box" like that ^^^

Chonlel48: I feel the same. My mind wants me to refer from using Mewtwo and Groudon (etc) in my standard team^^ I felt a little sting, in Ruby when I realized I would be mad not to replace my Claydol with the uber when facing elite4.

If the Pokémon is there for you to catch and train, regardless of whether it's legendary or not, then why waste it? The only real trouble is that people whine and complain if you're using a legendary Pokémon and they aren't. It's not like they're invincible. They have weaknesses, just like anything else. Just because they're stronger doesn't mean they are omnipotent.

Some people are just too attached to their tiers, in my opinion.

I don't use Ubers as I've never ventured into the uber metagame, but the non-uber legends are some of my favorite pokes to use...jirachi being one of my favs, I like having a base 100 in all my stats...:P

I saw a Palkia survive a Dragon claw from my adamant Salamence with 405 attack. Tiers are very important.

wow and how would u liek it if u spent a hard time Ev training a good OU team and then someone ignores the teir and u come face to face with an Aruesces....well thats not fun..its just not fair even if it weren't Ev'ed the Areces could still pummel over all that hard work....

No, tiers are important. you obviously don't understand them or something, because you start to get mad when things that are fast in OUs turn incredibly slow in uber play.

And seriously, good luck taking out Arceus with Beautifly. They're good as trophies (ubers), but not much else except play in the uber metagame. Seriously, pokemon would be ruined if they took out the uber tier, ruined...

Also, it ticks me off that you can use BL pokemon in UU play. the entire point of BL is to keep pokemon too powerful for UUs out of UUs.

But seriously, you have to group pokemon by strangth and ban stuff or everybody would use darkrai to throw everything to sleep and then a SD groudon to blast through the strongest OU physical walls.

I don't use them against other people at all, and expect others to not use them. I use them to battle the elite 4 when I am leveling up my team, Kyogre can 1 hit KO all of them by itself.

As far as wasting them goes, you can get pretty much anything you want for them over the GTS.

There are far to many legendaries, especially in D/P, what did they add, like 12 in those games, I thoght the 7 in R/S/E were too many

    Remember the R/B/Y?
There were Mew, Mewtwo and the three birds. Those were the times when the gamemakers didn't regard legendary uber-pokémon in the same way as we do now. Finding one of the birds was almost exiting, when the "legendary trio"-thing was "new". You know, R/B/Y is the only game who's story doesn't include mighty legendaries from native legends clashing toghether. (G/S/C has Lugia and Ho-oh, right?) Those were the times before religion entered pokémon world ^^ (though it can be argued, since Mew was said to be the ancestor of all pokés)

I was even fine with the Lugia - Ho-oh thing, it was just one extra, and back then I legends anyway, so the more the merrier, then the dogs were cool, because you had to bump into them by chance, then it was fun to try and track them down (still haven't caught Entei). But then it started to go all version exclusive, so they had to have twice as many, and now I just want them to go away, especially Rayquaza, I hate Rayquaza.
