Hiya~ :3 and Cloud 09, what did roaches have to do with radiation? O.o
They can withstand some of the deadliest weapons on earth, yet you can kill them with a shoe.CharMz said:Roaches aren't affected by radiation..
Meh, they're been here longer than humans and will probably outlive us all.Cloud 09 said:They can withstand some of the deadliest weapons on earth, yet you can kill them with a shoe.

That's what they have to do with radiation. The roach is also one of the hardiest insects on the planet, capable of living for a month without food and remaining alive headless for up to a week. It can also hold its breath for 45 minutes and has the ability to slow down its heart rate. Cockroaches also have a very high resistance to radiation.
What about RAID? how come that kills them?CharMz said:I guess they can only get killed by physical force....a bullet is certain to kill one as where a deadly gas might not affect it..
...poor roach. I feel sorry for them now.Simon said:That's what they have to do with radiation.
Although the radiation might not kill them, the initial heat and all the other effects of a nuclear explosion should. And there's always the unlucky roach that gets hit dead on by the nuke. That's physical force, right?

It'd be dead before it knew it though. It wouldn't even take one one millionth of a second for it to die.Simon said:That's what they have to do with radiation.

'Cause one of the chemicals in RAID (I forgot what it's called, but it starts with a "p") attack the insects' central nervous system.Cloud 09 said:What about RAID? how come that kills them?
...that's really quite unnerving, Jorfe o.oKazuhito said:It'd be dead before it knew it though. It wouldn't even take one one millionth of a second for it to die.
Is it? oO I mean...it wouldn't feel any pain, and it wouldn't even know it's dead or anything.Kylie-chan said:...that's really quite unnerving, Jorfe o.o
That pretty much applies to anything hit by a nuke...Kazuhito said:It'd be dead before it knew it though. It wouldn't even take one one millionth of a second for it to die.
I know...I'm just saying, no reason for Kylie to feel bad for it.Simon said:That pretty much applies to anything hit by a nuke...
I really don't get what's so unnerving about it.Kylie-chan said:The one millionth of a second... that's what's unnerving.
How? The time is unmeasurable to a human, you can't even think about it. I doubt there's anyone with a good grasp on it, if you think about how long one is, you've probably wasted millions of them just in that timeframe.Kylie-chan said:The one millionth of a second... that's what's unnerving.
