I'm getting a new laptop at the end of January. My dad's giving me £200 towards in and I'm going to use some of the money I got for Christmas for my purchase.

Same here! New laptop at the end of January from dad. xDD; Only difference is I'm paying for none of it and my dad, all of it. =x ;o; :P
 
My dad calls me a loser for hanging out with online friends. He claims you guys aren't "real friends"

It makes me laugh, because I truly lack interest in people I know IRL. :\ :P

Well, that's true, but you get to make the choice if you want to hang around with us or not, right?

People IRL are boring, well, in my opinion. XD

It's much harder for people like us to make RL interesting for oneself, I suppose. That may or may not change when we move more into the workforce though. xD;

Maybe it's because when we make friends in real life, they'll probably be the same as us and have similiar interests. While others from PC live in different parts of the world, they have different ways of living, personalities, traits, etc. People like that interest me because I want to get to know them, while the friends I'm around with, I see everyday and do the same things. It's a good thing to have a friend that shares the same traits with you, but, I guess that could get a little boring for me later on. XD

Really? I find I have nothing important in common with people I know IRL. o_o;

But it's true the variety online is larger, people posting from all over the world and all.
 
My dad always say i should go out and talk to friends but i find it alot more fun on the computer talk to other people. My freinds ae ok it is just that i dont find the things they talk about interesting.
 
My mum accepts that I can have online friends more now, and not just offline ones. I thinks it's got something to do with being sent things from people. Before, however, she used to think they weren't real friends and couldn't be trusted. I'm glad her opinion has changed as it means I can get closer to the friends I actually have.
 
I've never been sent anything from an online friend. I think you should change that, Matty. XD

I'll wait to give you my address til I get back to school. It's more fun getting mail at college. No one ever sends me anything. ;_;
