    Behold. My beautiful delibird.

Except it's not actually good. On a team where I'm using stuff like Scizor and Alakazam, I figured why not try something out a little fun?

What's the best moveset you could think of for Delibird in Pokemon Crystal?

I placed Attract on it hoping it could potentially stall out the A.I sometimes by giving them a 50% chance of attacking.

I'd like to continue using this thing. I just need help with a moveset that can otherwise help with it's stats being on par with a first stage early route normal type.

I'm not sure you're gonna be able to make a much better moveset than that. Toxic is always good, but you don't get that until pretty late in the game. Could always try Mud Slap and/or Double Team if you feel like doing accuracy/evasion stuff. Not much else of interest in its movepool, not with those base stats anyway.

Hm. Receives Toxic in Fuchsia Gym and Double Team in Celadon. Not those. Curse in Celadon Mansion. Nope.

Would say Return or Headbutt over Present. Obtains both easily enough in Goldenrod. For comparison:
    • Headbutt: 70 power + flinch chance
    • Return: 102 power at maximum friendship.
    • Present: 40% 40 power, 30% 80 power, 10% 120 power, 20% heal target. Averages 65 power when it deals damage. Drops to 52 power when you factor in the heal.

Might go with Headbutt, personally. Layers Attract with flinch chances. Potentially brings down something strong. Avoids fiddling with friendship, as a bonus.

Check Hidden Power too, when you get it. Believes you can find one at the Lake of Rage behind Cut.

@Devalue I didn't know that about present. Fascinating. I thought it was a 50 base power move with the chance to heal the opponent. Based off pure assumption. I was going to delete the move.

Debating Blizzard or Icy Wind. Also the 5500 coins could go to fire blast for Typlosion.

    How is Delibird doing:

Went through the Rocket Underground and Ice Path. It's fine against NPC's if it has a type advantage. I don't notice the lack of attack stats that much. The frail defense stats rear it's head in if it gets hit back. Usually takes 1/3rd of total HP on a hit.

The make or break will be Claire's Gym. I don't expect it to 1v1 Kingdra, but if it can help clear some of the gym trainers that would be nice.
