*thinking* These are items in the game. Shelf08 is a shelf, poster is posters. These are *guessing* underground items. Play with it to find out. *thinks about a gym statue in the water in Lake Verity*

They don't have to be underground base items, they could be building items :/

@Heatran and whoever replyed: you are looking at a ds 3d file there. The names are internal names for the nodes/geometry data/textures/materials and whatsever. There is no actual use in them exept for the engine to identify the objects and combine them in the right way

i've known about this for quite awhile. i don't know how to modify them to make them do anything. at the places where it lists objects, that is just the objects on maps, modifying them dosn't do anything but make it crash.

i was looking at shinygold on advancemap and i found d/p tilesets? is this right?
And they loaded on advancemap so will we be able to use that to hack d/p?

Zel imported some DP tiles into Pokemon ShinyGold, so no.

Damn... But is it then like, Blocks in the other games? Like which kind of objekt there are atthe map? Map_2_4 And all those things is it then what there is at the map 2_4?

We're all using HEX but maybe Nintendo used a completely different computer language? I don't know much about this but i am realising we arent finding much with HEX editors.

Well, Nintendo most likely would have worked with Binary. But like Hex>Dec, we can easily convert it Bin>Hex, and it's hex editing again.
It's not that we can't find anything, it's that it's a 'little' harder to "decode" than previous games, because of 3D structure of maps.

ok, i get it now. One question, if the buildings and objects are 3D, how are you going to do it? Because the map and the object placements are comepletely different, you can tell because if you WtW the gatehouse that's to the left of Jubilife, the buildings and textures are gone but the "heightmap" isnt (the people are still there too)

I'm not entirely sure what you mean, but as someone who's spent too much time time in front of the computer trying to hack the maps, i can pretty much tell you how their made. First off, it's all 3D, i know, it sucks. It is, for some odd reason, fully 3D (from what i've seen). I don't know about the indoors, but i think it's just somewhat un3D, 3D. We'll edit them the same way the edit maps and objects in pc games, with 3D modling programs, and extreme difficulty.

You dont understand, there's two different things to edit for one map. Theres the terrain file and the object placement file. Try using WtW over the gatehouse, the houses arent modeled to the ground because in place of them is different objects when you do this. It's hard to explain without a video or something, you also have the people/event placement, barriers (as in if its water/wall/walkable) and weather effects!! Also, its all just one big map, if you WtW and run upwards from Jubilife you will eventually appear near snowpoint.

People have made tools for hacking full 3D games before, this is just another project that's following a long line of others. :/

Very True Heatran,
Guys, I bet you can remember Mario 64 right, people said that game was impossible to hack...and then "Toads Tools" a 3d level and graphics editor came out.
And I'm sure you guy's know of Dragonball z Budokai or Grand theft auto, for the PS2 and PSP, well those graphics can be hacked also, and look how complex the system and the games are.

This is just a small mountain that guys like us WILL overcome.
It May require a lot of Co-operation and Dedicated researchers for the Program.
Things like this take long.

I've been in a lots of different forms of hacking and I've learned that the longer you spend on creating something, the more amazing it will be.

I believe all of us together will be able to create a whole range of DP Hacking programs.

I know that the objects are seperate from the terrain and placement, i don't believe that this game uses movement premissions, it's just elevated parts of the ground/objects. What is WtW?

Just to note, I've contacted the creators of Lunar IPS.

Maybe we can work together on a patching and patch making program.

sweetness. For you people who can't wait for the programs, too bad. WE HAVE A DEADLINE! they will be out by april 27th, we don't know exactly when, but it will be out by then

600th REPLY, because gabe_k took the 600th post!

Anyway, DP is considered one of the hardest things to hack now, but I wonder... is it stable like Ruby or Firered, or like Emerald. 1 little mistake and the game dies.
And on the binary theory, isn't it kinda harder to get the correct 8 numbers like 00101102*?
I say HEX is easier, especially if you have Romtext. It translated HEX to English. I even have this thing memorized: 00 - spacebar.
Anyway, that's my theory, even if t don't make sense.

00101102* -It's a joke. There are no 2's in binary. I made my own version- I know.

WtW is probably "Walk thru Walls."
I don't know anything about mapping but I can tell you're getting somewhere with it. You're doing well.
