4th Gen Diamond / Pearl Q&A Thread

You sure are rude.

What was that for? I'm just explaining that Roar of Time and Steel-attacks are bad moves. >:(

Just don't bother getting Dialga then! Get Pearl and have some water moves, which rock (of course, YOU wouldn't think so!).

I never said Dialga wasn't good. He's Uber, after all.

And Water moves are good. Not great, but good.

You just told me that everything I said sucked. I find that pretty rude!
And dissing pretty much ALL of Dialga's moves is kinda saying flatout it isn't good!
If you can't say anything nice, just don't talk.

I said that you were wrong. Which you were. That's not rudeness, that's honesty.

Because Dialga only learns two moves in the game, amirite?

I never said Dialga wasn't good. He has great typing, 150 base SAtk, and a great movepool (with a STABed Draco Meteor among it). He's Uber for a reason.

If you can't say anything nice, just don't talk.

That's a load of crap. What is this, third grade?

Since I'm getting so many reports on this thread and this little "fight" I'm going to try to nip this in the butt before it goes any farther. <_<;;

SwampertTrainer if you can't take the fact that you might be wrong then you don't need to be posting in threads like these.
Here's the thing, Hyper Beam-type moves do suck most of the time. I mean really, so what if the base power is 150? I know of another attack that has 150 power, it's called "Blast Burn". That attack is also a Hyper Beam-type attack where you have to recharge after an attack. I'm guessing you'd also say that's an awesome attack as well and should be on all Pokemon that can have it... I beg to differ, I'd pick up on something like Flamethrower. It has better accuracy, and has 95 base power meaning you can do more in two attacks then you could with Blast Burn (where it also took two).

The point is SwampertTraine, you think you're right and you won't even listen to others, or you don't study out the attacks to make sure you got something to back your claim up with.
Was airconditioning's posts rude? Not really, all he was doing was pointing out bad attacks, and they just happened to be attacks you said were good.

So I go back to my first point, if you can't take the fact that you might be wrong then you don't need to be posting in threads like these.

I hear over Wi-Fi, all Pokemon you have are automatically set to Level 100, and most people just train their Pokemon until they have the right moves and EV's.

Is this true?

But how can you say EVERYTHING I said was wrong? I use Hyper-Beam like attacks all the time, and they never fail me. Can't you at least admit that airconditiong might ALSO be in the wrong too?

You bet. WiFi has a level scaling feature, and can make all Pokemon level 100 for the battle.

You can also scale the levels to 50, or do an open level battle.

WOOSH!

Now I don't have to go through all that pain of getting every last one of my Pokemon to lv100 =D

What I do is give them a soothe bell, and run around Hearthome with looking. ^_^

But how can you say EVERYTHING I said was wrong? I use Hyper-Beam like attacks all the time, and they never fail me. Can't you at least admit that airconditiong might ALSO be in the wrong too?

Um no. Using Hyper Beam like moves on stupid computers ingame doesn't mean crap. Play against an actual smart breathing, thinking opponent. They'll make you pay for wasting their time with Hyper Beam like moves. And no, your group of friends doesn't count.

It never failing you doesn't prove much, just that you played against computer players & rookies, amirite?

Well, sorr-y if I never have the chance to battle with a real person! It's not like my town is full of Pokemon fanatics- I'm probably the only Pokemon trainer in a 10 mile radius!

It's called Wi-Fi. Get it. Use it.

Battle on wifi..
He is right.
They are only a computer battling you.
Like they only have the level up to 60 when you go up against Cynthia and the E4.

I HAVE WiFi! I Do use it- when I'm AT THE BAGEL BAKERY!! That's the nearest hotspot that actually gives me WiFi (everywhere else says it can't find a connection, even though it IS a hotspot) and it's on the other side of town!! *fume, fume*

*Yawn*

We aren't arguing over wifi, it's the fact that you are hell bent on saying how great Hyper Beam is, when you've only used it against stupid computers. I couldn't care less if you have wifi, all this wifi talk is spam anyway, but my only concern is you saying how great Hyper Beam-like moves are, without no real proof. Ingame, with computers, yeah, it works. Badly, but still. On wifi, where it matters, it is a bad move. In every sense of the word. Just get over it. I'm going to bed. Night, AC. And the rest of ya.

the stat increasingitems arent expensive id just battle with it and walk arroud w/ it dont let it faint and dont use herbs on it theyre bitter and pokemon dont likeit and reduces it likeing you

No. :D
OHOHOHO. Bagel Bakery. We're not talking about the internet, we're talking about the router.
airconditioning and sims796 happen to be well respective members of the competetive battling community of PC. I wouldn't go around rejecting all their truthful advice. Hyperbeam and all of it's Hyperbeam forms fail. You know why? It takes up two turns, traps you on the field, and forces you to watch the opponent set up a sweep against you while you're sitting there watching those Roar of Times fail. Really, 75 power per turn isn't that great. And about Steel offense, there are so many Pokemon that resist steel, whereas there are so few types who actually take supereffective hits to a Steel attack. Even so, other moves can have more power and cover every type that steel does and more (Earthquake hits both types that Steel are Supereffective against). Steel as a defense may be nice, but Steel as an offense fails completely. Oh, and whenever a skilled battler sees someone use Hyperbeam and its variants... they laugh. :/ Just admit that you're wrong.

Sheesh. =/

-------------

Eh, Stat-boosting items are pretty pricy at $9800. :x I suggest daily massages and various nonstop battles with the Soothe Bell. :D Luxury Ball helps a lot.

Let's say I have maxed out a Weavile's Attack & Speed EV's and have gotten an Effort Ribbon.
Does it matter, now, what Pokemon I battle with it? Will it still end up with the same final stats no matter what I battle?
