Let's say I have a lvl 99 pokemon that only needs 500 exp. to reach lvl 100. If I win a battle and gain 1000 exp. will my pokemon grow to 100?

Yes, the extra exp. just won't count because everything stops at 100

Im only just getting into HP calculations, so you may want someone to back this up.
For HP Ice jolteon will need:
Odd SpAtt (You'll Possibly be going for 31 anyway)
Odd SpDef
Odd Attack
Odd Defense
Even Speed
Even HP

HP Grass:
Odd SpDef
Odd Speed
Odd Attack
Even HP
Even SpAtt
Even Defense

HP Electric:
Odd SpAtt
Odd SpDef
Odd Defense
Even Attack
Even HP
Even Speed

I cannot yet work out power, but those IVs should give the required types

The only way to increase your chances of finding Shinies is with the Pokeradar. There should be an explanation of how to use it in the FAQ.

ok so i havent had pearl for very long, and was wondering... can i get pokemon like charmander or eevee BEFORE i get the national dex? because I have vaporeon and it's my favorite pokemon, and I want to restart my game... so If i restart it is it possible to trade with someone or do I have to wait to get the national dex?

you can trade with somebody who has the national dex. it won't register in your pokedex but you can still trade post national dex pokemon

Ok, I didn't get results with Gofre's IV advice so time for another question.

I will be creating a UU team soon.
What pokemon/strats should I be aware of?
What are common counters and standard movesets/pokemon.
Where can I find moveset help, besides this site and smogon.
Its more like multible questions rather than one.​

Shiny pokemon are completely random: every time you encounter a poke, there is a 1 in 8192 chance it will be shiny. The only real technique to finding them is using the pokeradar, which is detailed in the FAQ sticky. But other than that it's pure luck.

But he's more 'pimp mo-fo' than 'quaker'.
