Are the graphics of ruby saphire and emerald
BAD? I don't mean bad... As in not so great?
I mean compared to lg and fr
I think the graphics weren't that great...
    Sure it had weather effects
    And clouds reflections
But the overall detail to characters and buildings?
    First off everyone is fat
    Like what the hell?
Second some of the buildings and trees resemble gen 2?
This is not a bad thing... I like the building design in fr and lg
Pokémon center and mart looked awful.
Seriously... I mean it looks like crap...

    What do u think?

RSE graphics were my most favorite, to be honest, haha. Their tiles, sprites, overworlds, etc. were all pretty adorable, and they weren't too brightly-colored, either. FireRed and LeafGreen ones were good, too, but I just don't like them as much; though, others might definitely find them to be better-looking.

I thought they were great, especially for that time. As the above poster said, I thought generation III had the nicest looking almost everything.

RSE and FGLG nearly have the same graphics.

I used to think the same way too. But then I looked at the previous game, Pokémon Crystal. Only X&Y may have made a better graphic overhaul than RS. FRLG being based heavily on RS (there's still unused RS data in them) they obviously made better graphics as OW sprites were positioned so that you get a more overhead view. Only problem? We had to deal with giant heads ever since. And the rock and water landscape were pretty beautiful, to be honest.

I actually loved it a lot when the game first came out, it was a huuuuge step up from the Gen II games. I really like it, nothing bad about the graphics :)

I always liked Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald's graphics better. I think they're prettier than Fire Red and Leaf Green's. R/S/E's graphics had a certain style that FR/LG lacked.

RSE are my all time favourites for the Pokémon they introduced and the Hoenn Region. I do understand why people may dislike the graphical jump from Gen II to III, but for me they're legendary.

Since Sapphire was the second Pokemon game I ever played on a handheld, first being Pokemon Silver, I've always considered it to have gorgeous graphics. Big, big step up from generations one and two, definitely, and the battle system graphics brought the Pokemon to life. One of the best in the series, in my opinion.

I thought the R/S/E graphics were really good for it's time. imo, FR/LG had good graphics but they weren't as good as R/S/E's. There's just... a better feel to them.

Ruby and sapphire where good and also FR and LG used there engines so the graphics where about the same.

The Third gen graphics are actually my favourite. And Yes I do think that Nostalgia is involved.

But the tiles, The effects all look beautiful. But than again, Great graphics don't make a great game.

I like RSE's more, since it felt more nature-like and adventurous. FR/LG brought a more modern vibe, and it's really nice, but I still prefer RSE for said reasons.
