Digital vs Physical

Physical as a form of memento. Especially since there are very little products that in my eyes were worth buying. With one exception - modern games based on multiplayer. Those are pretty much rigged to a steam account.

I prefer digital even though I know it's simply smarter to go physical in almost every case. :( I know I don't really own the game when I buy digitally, I know my licence can be revoked when the store closes, I know it usually comes with DRM, but... man, is it convenient. I hate getting up and messing around with discs and cartridges, especially as someone who moves between houses a lot these days.

In terms of game ownership I have about 90% ownership on the Physical copy side, with the remaining 10% on indie game digital purchases.

I just have this fear of something going wrong with digital ownership in the sense of corruption or inaccessibility that I would have to rely on Physical copies...

I know this thread is for videogames, however I am going to talk about DVDs/Bluerays (since the topic of ownership is up) I only stick with Physical copies.. While having services like Prime, Crave and Netflix are nice... It isn't nice if there is an internet outage or something...

I've traditionally been a physical copy gal, but I won't deny that it's been super nice having digital copies of Hollow Knight and Stardew Valley. Makes me wish I had digital vs physical copies of Sword and FE3H.

I try to go for Physical, but these days a lot of the games I bought and/or plan to buy are digital. I've had issues with digital before. If that day comes where all my games will be digital, heck...they need to build bigger hard drives.

Physical so then no matter what happens to my pc or console or if my account get hack my games won't get stolen or I don't have to buy them again..That was the case with my brother he lost his Xbox it got busted...one of his drunken drink buddies hit the tv stand and bump the Xbox and down it went on the hard ground...couldn't turn it on so he bought a new one and log in under the same account for Xbox..and bam games were lost due to game sharing and the games being one license on some. With physical, you owe the game and the license I had two Xboxes and the same game worked on both..just gotta download updates to play online which always suck or you have to have the internet to finish downloading them...which is a huge scam...in my opinion..but you gotta make sure you read all the details on the back of the game case before buying. For me I can let my friends borrow the games and return them later or sell them and make a profit. So physical for me.
