|~ Disease Deoxys - [T] ~| [Best Rookie 1Q '12]

Well, that was a smart move, Ness thought. Just march right up to the massive beast and attack it with an obviously ineffective attack.

It appeared Flight was thinking the same thing. "Great...great...good job," she grumbled, "Now I suggest we run!"

Ness couldn't do that. He was born and raised a fighter, and there was no way in hell he was going down running. His years of training simply would not allow him to back down.
And so he stood, defiant to the end, as the hulking monster bore down on him…

But it appeared Flight didn't want to follow her own advice: Instead she had stayed there, contemplating, until now.
"Deoxys, you freaking monster!" she cried, and leapt into the air. The metal monstrosity swung its tail round, attempting an Iron Tail, but Flight flew over it, launching her own counterattack.

Suddenly Ness remembered the bunch of other people behind their opponent. What if they saw Flight?
As if on cue, the woman that seemed to be leading them shouted, "Alright, pull him off them!" Then they pulled out… guns? They didn't have guns in Unova. Why would you need them if you had allies that could rend enemies apart in seconds?

They fired shot after deafening shot, and Ness swore his ears might burst. The beast still remained relatively undamaged, but at least it paused its attack on both parties.
It contemplated who would make a better meal… before choosing Ness and Flight.

Obviously.

The last shot erupted from the woman's gun and she shouted, "Get out of the tunnel you two!"

Not a chance, Ness thought. But the monster was getting closer…

He darted back, out of the creature's way and into the darkness.

"Alright, we get to that Aggron and take it down!" The woman said. Finally, he knew his assailant by name.

The humans and their companions dashed in closer, and Flight was frozen to the spot. Was she thinking?

Suddenly, she glanced at him, and darted forward. She was glowing purple, and sparks were flying.

Then the Emolga leaped forward and slammed her tail right into the back of the Aggron's head. It caused a shockwave, and the Aggron emitted a growl, paralysed. She did a somersault, and landed in front of it.

"I'm on your side, don't shoot!" she spoke quickly with panic in her voice, "The Aggron's stunned! Take it down!"

"What are you doing?!" Ness shouted back. Why did she continuously risk her life? Was it impossible to stay out of harm's way?

Realising the hypocrisy in that thought, he dashed forward himself, landing a fairly weak kick on the Aggron at the same time and stopping just in front of Flight.

"Believe her. She saved my life from another infected." Realising that even paralysed, the Aggron was a threat, he began to think. Who would be able to do enough damage to kill it? He looked at the small crowd in front of him… an Arcanine suddenly appeared at the end of the tunnel.

He still looked around. Hmm…

He focused on one of the humans' guns. Those Calm Minds had served him well, but now someone else needed them - or rather, something.

An aura appeared around his body slowly. Ness snapped a paw in the direction of the weapon, and the glow dissipated. It reappeared surrounding the gun.

"Now! Shoot! END IT!"

Underground tunnel

As the battle raged on outside of his shell, Dexter was still rather dizzied and knocked about by the hard impact with the Aggron, slowly starting to come around. He was being carried by Benny at this point, and only noticed this as he slowly stuck his head out of his shell, giving his head a swift shake, trying to get his bearings.

Just as he did, Blaze ran out in front of them, attacked the Aggron and promptly got knocked on his arse. He grit his teeth and looked up at Benny who was carrying him, mindful of the spikes on his back.
"A'ight, thanks for carryin' me boss, but let me down! Can't fight like this y'know!"

After a moment of confusion, Benny put down Splash, who dashed forwards, taking in a deep breath as a watery orb was created in front of his mouth, shooting it off at high speed at the Aggron, the ball of water only damaging it very faintly. He did it once more, and then a final time before clenching his fists, watching it apparently attack something on the other side of the tunnel. Were there someone else there…?

Just as he thought this, an obviously infected Emolga lept above the Aggron and slammed it in the back of its head with both electricity and psychic abilities before landing down in front of them again. Splash narrowed his eyes, halfly ready to attack and halfly ready to hear the Pokémon out. One wrong move…
"I'm on your side, don't shoot!"

At these words, Splash halted. They could deal with an Emolga if they had to, but an Aggron was something else. They had to at least take care of that one before dealing with her. He then noticed the Espeon that didn't seem infected, but also attacked the Aggron. An aura started appearing around the Pokémon, causing Splash's brows to raise. He glanced over his shoulder and saw that Carol's shotgun suddenly glowed purple.

"Now! Shoot! END IT!" the Espeon cried out. Splash turned back to the Aggron, who was turning around and ready to attack the Emolga, fury emitting from its eyes as it roared out. Having a powerful weapon is no good if you can't hit properly. And a moving target is a lot harder to hit.

"A'ight, let's finish this up! Hold still, y'big lug!" Taking in another deep breath, Splash then shot out a beam of ice, aimed straight for the feet of the Aggron, causing it's feet and parts of it's leg to freeze to the ground, holding it firmly in place. The Pokémon seemed confused and then simply enraged by this, seeming ready to try and break free by means other than pulling on his legs. Splash glanced back to Carol as he dived out of the way.

"Shoot t'f*ckin' thing! Now!"

Sebastian sighed as he sat down on one of the few cushions. The Golduck had been ready to go to sleep when one of the humans shouted and suddenly there was a whole lot of noise. Sebastian groaned and got up and walked over to the crowed clustered around the door, "What' the problem?" He muttered sleepily. One of the humans turned to him, "The infected and Nidorina are gone."

Sebastian's eyes widened, "What!?" He quickly dashed into the rain and looked around wildly. The Golduck groaned as the humans began to organize search parties, with each one making sure their guns were loaded. A human Sebastian knew as Ron was organizing them. "Alright, those two couldn't have gotten far, and not in this weather. Do not go farther than needed. If they are found, shoot the Nidorina to incapacitate her. The Raichu is to be killed. Move out!" The humans left as Sebastian went to Snype, "Hey, let's go. We need to find them before they go too far."

The pokemon were attacking the Aggron left and right. There was an infected Emolga that was telling them that she was a friend and every single pokemon in the tunnel practically screaming at the humans to shoot the Aggron. Talk about peer pressure. Benny couldn't do anything, if he so much as swung his hammer he could take out some of the others. Carol on the other hand raised her shotgun and fired out one last bullet while the two other humans used the last of their ammo. The Espeon had done something so that the bullets actually managed to pierce the Aggron's skin instead of ricocheting off.

The Aggron howled in agony as he was shot. The Aggron stumbled for a bit before he groaned and fell face first and caused the ground to shake. Benny walked up, "Is it dead?" Carol nodded, "Yeah... it's dead."

She turned to the Emolga and pointed the light at the gun right at the little pokemon. The signs of the infection were all over her body and the other two humans finished loading their guns before pointing them at the Emolga as well. "Hey! She helped us fight it!" Benny got in front of Flash. Carol sighed, "Yes, but she is infected. Her mind is free for now, but how about in a week... a few days?"

Benny shook his head, "She fought that Aggron, we need to have allies Carol." Bennny said, and surprisingly the shaky nature of his voice was gone. Carol just stared for a few seconds before she nodded, "Lower your weapons. The commander has spoken." The other humans did so and Carol began to reload hers. "We have to keep moving. You two are with us now. Have you seen the state Vermilion is in?"

Somnus
Unknown Plains

In a bright flash the group had disappeared and reappeared in a field of flowers. Somnus looked around, "This should make it easier to find him. Now, for a test." Somnus raised his hand to the ground before him and fired off a Confusion. The ground rippled with force as dirt flew up in a cloud. The cloud cleared and in the ground was a huge crater. The other infected murmured among each other. Somnus turned back to the crowd, "Master has gifted us with an increase in power. Once we find Mew, use everything you can to take him down. Just make sure not to kill him or Master will truly break you. Understood?"

The infected crowd nodded. Somnus looked around and saw Gale, "You, Scizor. Come with me. Everyone travel in twos." Somnus walked through the field as the other infected began to walk off as well.

Flight - Normal

Underground Tunnel

Flight smiled in relief as Ness joined into the fray, trying to help as well. Landing right by her side, the Espeon empowered the Humans' weapons, making them glow bright violet. The Aggron, angrier than ever, slowly fought out of the paralysis and the Emolga couldn't help stepping back a little.

"Now! Shoot! END IT!" Ness screamed, wailing for the humans to engage.

"Shoot t'f*ckin' thing! Now!" said a Turtle-like pokemon, but Flight decided not to pay attention to that right now. A woman raised her gun and fired, the bullet piercing right through the beast's armor and taking it down with one single hit. The Aggron could only groan in agony before collapsing right before them with a loud kaboom.

Flight beamed with pride, enjoying the victory and glory. When she twirled around to face the humans, she was surprised by their words.

"Hey! She helped us fight it!" Said a man. The woman then replied with a sigh, "Yes, but she is infected. Her mind is free for now, but how about in a week... a few days?"

So they know...

"Well...I'm fighting so hard right now against Deoxys' willpower...hopefully I would last longer than that." Flight bu*t in and replied before listening to what the man had to say.

"She fought that Aggron, we need to have allies Carol." he said said, making her thank him in silence. Speaking softly but shakily, he talked to his army, "Lower your weapons. The commander has spoken." The other humans did so and the woman began to reload hers, "We have to keep moving. You two are with us now. Have you seen the state Vermilion is in?"

"Good to know that I'm with you. I wouldn't want to be shot on the spot," Flight managed to smile a bit, but the grin soon turned into a frown, "No, I haven't. I'm actually here to search for a good hiding place from Deoxys...but apparently this place is way overcrowded."

Then something hit her.

"I'm also looking for a Raichu with the name Axel." Flight continued, old memories flashing before her eyes, "Do you...happen to know someone with that name?"

Snype woke up as soon as he heard that Axel had gotten away along with Number. Darn it... he warned him and he didn't listen. Now he has more trouble to deal with. He could have just stayed put... He wasn't about to see him get killed prematurely though. Snype jumped onto his feet and put the hood of his robe up to follow the group. "Darn it all... you just had to get yourself into a mess didn't you..." Snype muttered to himself. He knew he had to find Axel before the army did though. Otherwise he'd be shot on site.

"I'll go get a head start. I should be able to find them easy in the dark. It's like being in a cave after all." Snype said as he moved forward to try and run ahead of the group. "comon where are you..."

Benny looked at Carol. The police office frowned, "We have. He is infected. Did you do that?"

Benny quickly stepped between the two, "Carol, stop."

Carol holstered her shotgun. "Fine. Everyone, we're moving out. If there was an Aggron here then there's bound to be some infected on the other side as well. We could easily be surrounded so it's essential that we get to Vermilion as quick as possible. No breaks, no detours. We go straight ahead and stop for nothing, less all of us die. Move out."

Carol, the Corphish, and the humans moved forward and Benny turned to the Emolga, "Hey, you said you were fighting it. You can beat it. Come on before they leave us."

Benny ran after the departing humans.

Sebastian followed after Snype. "Don't talk. No telling where that rodent is. We can't warn him of our approach. That rodent was lying to us this entire time. Probably working for Deoxys and is already on his way to tell him our location." He muttered. More thunder streaked across the sky as the humans walked around the perimeter, trying to be as quiet as possible.

Felicie "Number" Schäfer

Cerulean Cape

The Rhydon made its way toward Number and she glared up at it, crouching slightly in a battle stance. In the corner of her eye she saw Axel dash off toward the giant monster; she gasped slightly and turned her head toward him, not expecting to see this. At least she got what she had hoped. Axel was braver than Number had thought. She had completely expected him to dash in the opposite direction. Axel released a Thundershock that hit the giant vermin's side. It didn't affect it in the slightest, but it angrily turned to him. Number knew Axel was planning something, that's why he used a useless attack. He wasn't dumb. Number ran over to the Rhydon's other side, away enough to not be in its peripheral vision.

As Axel held onto its back, he called out, "G-go on! Get him! I can't hold on forever!" Number charged toward the Rhydon and turned her body so she sailed horizontally through the air, feet-first. She unleashed one hard kick, landed on the ground and then leapt back up into the second kick of her Double Kick attack. Despite having a rock-solid body, the Rhydon cried out in pain as it was brutally hit with its weakness. It was going to be a lot tougher than this, however. After a few moments, the Rhydon continued to angrily stomp around as if it was so dumb it forgot it was in pain. Number sighed and dodged another stomp from the giant. "If you're going to fight us, at least be a bit faster!" Number taunted.

This only made the Rhydon roar even louder. Its roar sounded like a mix of anger and pain, for it was very screechy and it almost gave Number a headache. In a flash, as if answering Number's taunt, it slammed its paw on Number's stomach and pinned her down. She tried to squirm out, but it was no use. The meathead was way too strong. Number would have called out to Axel and told him to help her escape, but her pride kept her from doing so. The Rhydon leaned forward till its face was right in Number's. It opened its mouth and unleashed yet another roar as if saying Who's slow now? Number squeezed her eyes shut, and then opened them and stared up at the Rhydon as it stood straight again. "Your breath stinks," she pointed out. Snarling, the Rhydon pulled its fist back, getting ready to use Hammer Arm on Number.

"A'ight, let's finish this up! Hold still, y'big lug!" said another pokémon that Ness hadn't noticed before. It fired a beam of ice, freezing the Aggron to the floor. It growled angrily, seemingly attempting to find a way out of its situation. The pokémon that launched the attack glanced back at the human holding the weapon Ness empowered, diving away.

"Shoot t'f*ckin' thing! Now!" it yelled.

A single shot rang out across the tunnel, and the Aggron howled in pain. Ness's gamble had paid off.

The ground shook as the beast collapsed. The Aggron was dead. You didn't need a psychic to tell it was dead.

Suddenly all the guns were pointed at Flight. Of course. Attacking the Aggron just kept the humans off her for the duration of the battle.
Now it was crunch time.

"Hey! She helped us fight it!" shouted a human. Ness was surprised at this outburst - Tactically speaking, keeping Flight around was a ticking time bomb.

"Yes, but she is infected. Her mind is free for now, but how about in a week... a few days?" The person who was apparently leading the group said.
"She fought that Aggron, we need to have allies Carol." said the first human, voice no longer uncertain.
Carol just stared for a few moments, and then seemingly accepted this. "Lower your weapons. The commander has spoken." The other humans did so and Carol began to reload hers. It was still glowing ominously. "We have to keep moving. You two are with us now. Have you seen the state Vermilion is in?"

"Good to know that I'm with you. I wouldn't want to be shot on the spot," Flight said, apparently relieved, "No, I haven't. I'm actually here to search for a good hiding place from Deoxys...but apparently this place is way overcrowded."

"No kidding," Ness interrupted. He was promptly ignored.

"I'm also looking for a Raichu with the name Axel." Flight continued, "Do you...happen to know someone with that name?"

Now this was interesting. Ness had never heard anything about this Axel fellow, although that was probably because half the time Flight was unconscious and the other half they were fighting.

"We have. He is infected. Did you do that?" Carol said. Ness wasn't warming to her anytime soon, he knew that.

Then the commander fellow who saved Flight's bacon earlier stepped in again. "Carol, stop."
Move out."
The group moved forward, marching through the tunnels. The commander, Flight and Ness stayed behind.

"Hey, you said you were fighting it," the human said, "You can beat it. Come on before they leave us."

So then they, too, marched forward.

"Yeah, that's about right," Ness muttered to himself. "I saved your lives by superpowering that gun. A little appreciation would have been nice."

He sprinted forward, catching up to the group. He resumed walking pace.

"As much as I enjoy being left in complete social isolation back there, I think it's best for all of us if we get on a first-name basis with each other. I'm Ness, this is Flight, and I'm new here. I literally just arrived here in Kanto before being mobbed by infected, so I don't particularly remember what's what, but Vermillion City's the one with the port, right?"

Axel
Cerulean Cape

Clinging on for dear life, Axel whimpered to himself at his idiotic plan, still managing to swipe the Rhydon's face every now and then, only just avoiding being caught by its massive arm. A moment later, the Rhydon began staggering, and then again, crying out in pain. Number must've begun attacking it! Maybe they'd actually manage to beat it!

He came to regret that thought as the Rhydon swung its arm and slammed down on Number, keeping her pinned to the ground. Axel watched with horror over the Pokémon's shoulder. It was readying to attack her, and if it actually managed to do so, the only bits of Number left, would've been able to be scooped up with a bucket.

Axel let go of the Rhydon, moved up to its shoulder and lept off, turning in the air as he landed on all four. He had to do –something-, but what could he- At this moment, a loud crash of thunder erupted, the lightning illuminating everything in the area with a ghostly glow. Suddenly, Axel had an idea. It might not work… but it was better than running away, like always.

He raised his tail high into the air, clenching his jaw. This might even hurt him, but he didn't have a whole loft of choices left. "H-hey! Let go of her!" he called out, if anything just to stall for time. The Rhydon only seemed to halfly notice him, but it slowed him down enough for Axel to finish with his attack.
Electricity began coursing through his body, running over his fur, from his cheeks and up and down along his tail. Taking a deep breath, he shot a bolt of lightning into the skies, as high as he could.

Not even a second later, an –actual- lightning bolt erupted from the dark skies above them, crashing down against Axel, lead by the lightning he emitted. Just before it hit him, he redirected his attack to send a Thunder towards the Rhydon, the lightning bolt finally hitting him, but instead of frying him, he sent it along his stream of electricity, causing it to empower a ridiculous lot. The constant pressure from the high amount of voltage caused Axel to yell out in pain, though not as much as the Rhydon would.

The Rhydon looked up as it saw Axel in a flash of light, and in the next moment, the massive lightning bolt slammed right against the Rhydon's chest. Normally, electricity wouldn't affect him, and granted, it didn't this time. But the sheer –force- of a bolt of lightning was enough to send him backwards, raising him a few centimeters in the air before letting him crash against a tree, which swiftly buckled under his weight and fell backwards.

Axel was left panting for air, his fur singed. He shook his head a little, trying to get his bearings again as he felt like he had just been spun around a hundred times and slapped each time he made a turn. He did, however, register that Number hadn't been hit by neither the Rhydon, or the electricity, as the Rhydon had directed the high voltage directly into the ground.

"N… number, are you… o-okay…?" he panted out, wincing a little as he moved towards her, looking rather worried.

Splash
Underground Tunnel

As the massive beast fell, Splash staggered a little from the shockwave the enormous body created as it landed. Splash took a brief moment to steady himself and make sure neither him, nor anyone else were badly injured.

At the next moment however, he spun around to face the infected Emolga, ready to leap on it and pin it to the ground. Or… well, maybe something less stupid, considering he was a water type, and the Emolga was an electric one. However, he held himself back as Benny moved in front of the Pokémon. Splash looked up at him with furrowed brows, staying quiet as him and Carol bickered, his arms folding across his chest as he turned his stern stare to the Emolga. He didn't like that she came straight out of nowhere and just… helped them out like that.

He let out a huff, but shrugged his shoulders as the Emolga and the Espeon apparently joined up with them. "I s'pose since t'commander says so, we can trust 'er. I just personally wanna know why y'wanted t'spare her 'n even have her with us, when y'locked up that rodent back at Bill's place.

He looked over to Blaze who was staggering to his feet, a worried expression sliding across the Wartortle's face before he snapped his gaze back to the Emolga. "Y'know that Axel fella?" it burst out of him. He quieted down as Benny and Carol were just about to get into another miniature fight. As the other Pokémon moved on and Benny tried to encourage the Emolga, Splash stayed behind, both to make sure Blaze was alright, and to follow up along the Emolga, which was apparently named Flight, which he now knew, thanks to the Espeon, named Ness.

"Mh. 'M Splash. Good thing y'both came 'round 'n helped out when y'did. We could've taken it on, but it wouldn't've been pretty. So thanks, I guess. Just wanna let you know, 's soon 's you start attackin' any 'f us… -if- y'do," he sent a glance towards Benny, apparently contemplating whether that was truly possible or not before looking back at Flight as they walked along. "… 'M gonna beat y'down, a'ight? No hard feelings or anythin', 's just. Y'know."

After a few moments in silent walking, Splash cleared his throat, peering at Flight again. "Y'lookin' for this Axel fella, eh? Yeah, we met 'im back at Bill's House. Was with a Sableye, dunno if y'know 'im. 'Re you 'n t'Raichu close?" Splash seemed about to say something else, but left it at that, peering at Flight questioningly.

Flight - CHARGED
Underground Tunnel

Flight wished Axel's alright. That scared Raichu can't possibly survive alone out there...I really do hope he's okay.

The human commander looked at his assistant (or maybe ally. Flight wasn't sure). The police officer frowned, "We have. He is infected. Did you do that?" But the commander quickly stopped the conversation again as if he was hiding a little nasty secret. Flight frowned and eyed them suspiciously, but decided that it wasn't the best moment to ask them about it.

The female then holstered her shotgun. "Fine. Everyone, we're moving out. If there was an Aggron here then there's bound to be some infected on the other side as well. We could easily be surrounded so it's essential that we get to Vermilion as quick as possible. No breaks, no detours. We go straight ahead and stop for nothing, less all of us die. Move out."

As the others turned away though, the commander turned to Flight, "Hey, you said you were fighting it. You can beat it. Come on before they leave us."

Beat it? Beat Deoxys' virus...? They might have to power to help me...!

"Alright, I'm coming." Flight accepted the offer, giving him an enthusiastic nod. Without a word, the Emolga and the Espeon followed from behind. There was a slightly muffled voice coming from the cluster of people, and Flight glanced around in search for the speaker. Just then a Wartortle came to view, speaking with a rather...unique accent.

"Mh. 'M Splash. Good thing y'both came 'round 'n helped out when y'did. We could've taken it on, but it wouldn't've been pretty. So thanks, I guess. Just wanna let you know, 's soon 's you start attackin' any 'f us… -if- y'do," he sent a glance towards the humans before continuing, "… 'M gonna beat y'down, a'ight? No hard feelings or anythin', 's just. Y'know."

After a few moments in silent walking, the Wartortle cleared his throat, peering at Flight again. "Y'lookin' for this Axel fella, eh? Yeah, we met 'im back at Bill's House. Was with a Sableye, dunno if y'know 'im. 'Re you 'n t'Raichu close?"

It took Flight a couple of seconds to think before answering, trying not to make it overly awkward, "I uh...yeah...I'm looking for that Axel person...you can we're good friends. Do you know where he is now? I need to find him."

"I uh...yeah...I'm looking for that Axel person...you can we're good friends. Do you know where he is now? I need to find him."

Splash wasn't all too happy about walking right next to an infected, and he sure as heck didn't trust her. Regardless, she did save him. The fact that she was friends with Axel didn't make much of a difference, because either she didn't know that he was infected, or they were both working for Deoxys in some kind of elaborate plan.

He had always hated bringing bad news. Most of the time, he preferred simply dodging the subject, or letting someone else do the answering. But the way Axel had talked about this Flight, it seemed a little more than something just to be waved off. He gave a sigh, lifting a hand to rub the back of his neck.

"Normally, I'd just tell you that he'd be fine 'n all, bu'… when we encountered him, he told his friend, t'Sableye, 'bout how he had been injected with somethin' by Deoxys. 'M sorry, but… it looks like y'friend's infected. 'N lookin' at how big of a will he seemed to have, it ain't gonna take long 'fore he turns if y'ask me."

Splash paused, his lips twitching a little. He wasn't happy with the answer he'd given. It sounded way too cold. She might've just lost her best friend for all he knows. He cleared his throat and added, jabbing a thumb backwards. "We locked 'im up in one of t'pods back at Bill's House, at t'cape, t'make sure he wouldn't hurt anyone when he turned. If y'hurry back, y'may get some words with him 'fore he's infected f'real. Don't worry, tell t'rest of t'army there that Carol 'n Splash sent y', 'n y'should be good."

He lifted a hand to give Flight's back a comforting little pat, as if Axel had already died. He then walked on in silence.

Felicie "Number" Schäfer

Cerulean Cape

Number looked up at Axel as he sent a huge lightning bolt at the Rhydon. She was completely shocked at what she was seeing. Could a Pokémon really do this? She had never seen anything like it before. Maybe after this huge Infected problem ended, Number could ask Axel to teach her how. As soon as the Rhydon was launched through the air and Number was released, she quickly returned to her feet and watched it crash into a tree. The tree snapped and hit the ground with a thud, dust clouding around it. "N… number, are you… o-okay…?" Axel asked, breathing heavily and moving toward Number. "The question is, are you okay?" she replied, trying to sound as deadpan as possible to hide how worried she was. Seeing Axel so exhausted and burned out like this made Number imagine her parents…

"So uh, we're pretty far from the house now, I presume," Number said, looking in the Rhydon's general direction. She decided not to stall. "Look, I only saved you because I heard about you being captured by Deoxys at one point. I want to know more about it, and only you can inform me." Number looked straight at Axel and hoped that he got the hint. She wanted to know everything from where it was located to what colour wallpaper Deoxys had.

Thunder continued to rumble, and the rain really picked up in those short moments. Number realized that the Rhydon's appearance had practically ruined everything. The plan was to rescue Axel, get some information, then leave him. That wasn't possible now, was it? They had been delayed long enough for the army to make it to Vermillion, and Number couldn't leave Axel while he was so exhausted. The only thing to do now would be to bring Axel along until they made it near Vermillion. The problem was, it was quite far and so they had to keep moving right now. Yet, Number was exhausted. She had no idea what time it was, but she did know it was late and she wanted some sleep. Oh well, this is what you get for rescuing a captive. "Come on. You're my prisoner now, unless you decide to run away from me, too," Number said as she kept moving forward. The Rhydon huffed and tried to get up again. Number turned and glared at it, and in a flash she shot a thick, gunky purple liquid from her mouth. The liquid hit the Rhydon's face and it snarled viciously before collapsing again. Number continued walking forward without turning to check if Axel followed.

Axel
Cerulean Cape

"The question is, are you okay?" Number asked, staring Axel down, as if he had just been caught with the paw in the cookie jaw. He swallowed a little, more out of trying to get over a rather sickly feeling from pushing his body to such limits. "Y-yeah, I am, thanks.. it, uh… my trainer, Daniel, taught me how to use the environment to help me out. Heh, he was… pretty great at coming up with plans like that." He smiled a little and rubbed the back of his head as Number spoke again.

"Look, I only saved you because I heard about you being captured by Deoxys at one point. I want to know more about it, and only you can inform me."
Axel hadn't imagined she just did this out of the goodness of her heart. He might very well be infected for all she knows. Or even for all he knows, which made it much more important to find Flight and Daniel before anything happened to him.

Axel sat quietly for a few moments, still panting faintly, squinting a little as a particularly powerful shower of rain danced onto his head, causing his ears to lay back. As he was about to speak, she spoke once more, causing him to instantly shut his mouth.
"Come on. You're myprisoner now, unless you decide to run away from me, too."

"N-no no, I won't. You helped me, so of course I'll do what I can for you. B-but…" he paused, thinking about how bad this next thing he would say sounded. Taking a breath, he decided to say it anyway, following along behind her on all four, not taking much notice of the Rhydon collapsing again.

"I've… got to get to Mount Moon as soon as possible. Before you say anything, I –know- it's the base of the infected… and that it seems I'm just off to report to Deoxys o-or something, but the truth is… a couple of hours earlier, me and…" he paused, wrinkling his nose a little at the difficulty of putting a word on it.
"… One of my friends, had just beaten back an infected Typhlosion. It was a really tough battle and she almost died. I took her to a small clearing to get her some food, completely exhausted… and an infected Scizor arrived. H… he wanted to take her back to Mount Moon. I tried standing up against him, but… I'd taken too much damage in my last fight. I couldn't protect her, and she was taken away…"

He swallowed down, lowering his gaze towards the ground as the rain continued drizzling down on top of them, another crack of thunder sounding from above. "… I've got to go save her, Number. I'll… follow you along and tell you what you want to know for as long as you want, but… but please don't make it last too long. I have to go help her out. I hope you understand.."

He stepped slightly closer to her, following her just slightly behind and off to the side, glancing at her worriedly. She might just turn around and kill him off then and there. "With… with that said though, what do you want to know?"

Benny Larson
On the way to Vermillion City

Benny turned back to Espeon and nodded, "Yeah, it's the one with the port." Benny listened as Splash and the Emolga talked to each other. As soon as Splash stopped talking Benny began to speak. "Hey, your friend will be alright. I don't think I caught your name though or yours either Espeon. If you already told me I'm sorry. I'm kinda forgetful, but thanks for powering up our guns."

Carol led the group through the tunnel and thankfully there were no other infected in here. The group emerged from the other side to the night sky. It seemed that there were no infected on the other side either. Carol and the others looked around before she motioned the group forward. There was a dirt path that would lead to the main road and if they were lucky they wouldn't encounter anymore infected on the way to the city.

"Hmmph... don't tell me to be quiet..." He thought to himself. He tried to think of a way to make the situation more calming. Sure there was the risk of Axel being infected but Axel was right. It usually doesn't take this long to become infected. It's almost instant. But he was injected with something. The question is what he was injected with...

"He's confused and worried. He was willing to give us information earlier. You'd be killing a valuable source if he doesn't become infected. We all kind of slept on the job ourselves." Snype said quietly, looking for a sign of Axel. "Yes he has to be captured, but he still has his mind and soul. You won't be any better if you shoot on sight."

"Yeah, it's the one with the port," replied the apparent group commander. He and Ness listened as the turtle-like pokémon with an unusual accent chatted to Flight.

"Mh. 'M Splash." Good, now Ness knew someone else's name. "Good thing y'both came 'round 'n helped out when y'did. We could've taken it on, but it wouldn't've been pretty. So thanks, I guess. Just wanna let you know, 's soon 's you start attackin' any 'f us… -if- y'do," Splash paused and glanced at the commander before resuming. "… 'M gonna beat y'down, a'ight? No hard feelings or anythin', 's just. Y'know."

They then proceeded to talk about the Raichu, Axel. No matter how hard he tried, though, Ness just couldn't stay interested. He was constantly distracted by the tiniest little things… then it hit him. Sleep deprivation. It was what, 2 in the morning? He was tired, hungry, soaking wet after the thunderstorm and to top it all off he had a headache for some idiotic reason.

Moreover, he still needed to figure out what exactly what he was doing. His general plan up until now was to simply take shelter somewhere, but things had been getting hectic all afternoon. First he had saved Flight, which gave him an accomplice, then he was attacked by an infected thing crablike beast, then he kind of lost it for a few minutes at the Underground Path's entrance. Then he'd assisted this lot in defeating – no, killing the Aggron.

"Hey, your friend will be alright. I don't think I caught your name though or yours either Espeon. If you already told me I'm sorry. I'm kinda forgetful, but thanks for powering up our guns." It was what's-his-name, the commander, again. Ness blinked.

"You're welcome," he replied. "And it doesn't really matter if you forget my name, I'm used to it. It happens a lot in the professional battle circuit. I'm Ness, and the controversial one over there is Flight. Thanks for saving her back there, by the way. We have a... shall we say, a mutual agreement to keep each other alive. I, uh, never caught your name either. What was it?"

While they were talking, the group had arrived at the exit to the Underground Path. He noted that for the most part, the group was ignoring Ness's handiwork on the door. They probably thought it was some infected pokémon's handiwork.

<Hey, Flight,> He said telepathically to the pokémon in question, <It might be hard thanks to you being showered with all that attention, but can we try and keep the details of our meeting under wraps? If anyone finds out I saved you before you saved me, I might be in trouble.>

Deoxys
Mt. Moon

Deoxys had seen the battle. He had seen how many of his special infected had fallen. They needed to be replaced as soon as possible. He reached out to the rest of his infected and once again tapped into the minds of specific individuals. He only needed to say one thing, Come. Deoxys looked back at his latest acquisition and watched with glee as the creatures screamed and squirmed in its bonds. Yes, soon he would be under Deoxys' control as well and it would only be a matter before the others fell like dominoes. Until then, he still had to perfect his formula. The newest formula had gone... awry. This time he would not be making the same mistakes.

A strange Pokemon, even stranger than most of the Infected, walks through the caves of Mt. Moon. He has heeded the call of the Master, the mighty Deoxys, and is ready to prove his worth.
His name is Raiou.
And he is certainly not someone you'd easily miss if you passed him on a street: his left eye is missing, replaced a sickly metallic green skin tone that covers all but his tail, which is a dark orange metallic. His right eye is still intact, but still rather scary to behold: red iris with a silver, slitted pupil. The "white" of that eye is black.
He is stared at by his fellow Infected with either fear or an emotionless lack of interest. He didn't care. He liked it that way.
On his way to Deoxys, he had seen a large group of Infected led by a Hypno. Not thinking much of it, he ignored them.
Upon arriving in Deoxys' chambers, he kneels.
A vision of him joining battle against a pink, floating cat Pokemon instantly appears in his mind. Mew, eh? Sounds interesting.
Should you capture Mew for me, I will have seen your worth... And you will be that much closer to seeing your sister again...
As you wish, Master. So Raiou walks away, searching for a certain Kirlia he knows can Teleport him to his goal: Mew. So it begins: the lives of others shall be sacrificed so I can save my sister.
Plus, I love a good challenge!! Then, as he Teleports with the Kirlia, he wonders Will Mew be enough of a challenge?

Gale Witt
Unknown Plains

A bright, shining light pierced his eyes and quickly returned his vision with a large, amazing field of blooming flowers. They had been teleported to a completely new area, and he had no idea how far they were from headquarters or any other pokemon. There was a good chance Mew, the legendary pokemon, was lingering in such a place like this with no threat to attack; until now, of course.

"This should make it easier to find him. Now, for a test," the Hypno in the group raised his hand to the ground in his direction and fired off a single Confusion, ripping the dirt and flowers before him apart in great strength. A quick cloud of dirt covered the area the moment the pokemon shot its psychic power, though it cleared quite fast and left a crater in the broken ground behind. Gale was astonished by what had just happened, but he didn't show any reaction. He just wondered how the pokemon held such power. He was answered quickly. "Master has gifted us with an increase in power. Once we find Mew, use everything you can to take him down. Just make sure not to kill him or Master will truly break you. Understood?"

Well, duh. He nodded along with his infected allies, gazing to the side at the field which seemed to never end. It resembled a heaven, and immediately he got a headache looking at it. It was small, and yet he felt as if something had pricked through his head. A voice from behind snapped him back and eased his quick pain. "You, Scizor. Come with me. Everyone travel in twos," the Hypno ordered. Gale believed his leadership was out of order, but wouldn't dare speak his mind. The crowd immediately split, and Gale followed the Hypno across the plain, thinking about their glorious mission instead of the beautifully wretched place. His psychic partner had created a crater in the ground with a weak psychic attack. What power could he release with a Hyper Beam through his claw?

"...Pardon me, but where might we be heading? I don't see a very good chance of this legendary pokemon hiding within the fields," Gale said in a both low, yet friendly tone. Walking aimlessly wouldn't get the two anywhere, and he couldn't stand staring at such pretty, fine flowers any longer.

Somnus
Unknown Plains

Somnus turned to Gale and smirked, "Ah, but you forget that Mew can also hide in plain sight and yet not be seen. Legendaries have powers much greater than ours Scizor. He could be right in front of us and we wouldn't even know it." The Hypno looked around, "Just keep your eyes open. Look specifically for a shadow where there shouldn't be one and you should be good."

Somnus felt an influx of power and saw two more appear in the field. A Kirlia and a Raichu appeared in the field. Somnu called to them, "Hey, you two, fall in with us! The others have already headed out!" Suddenly off in the distance the sounds of battle rung out as psychic blasts began to stir up dust clouds.

Somnus nodded and began to run toward the battle. "Shoot off everything you have! We can't let him escape!" He shouted at the others. It took only a few minutes to arrive but already two infected were down, their skulls crushed to a paste. Other infected were shooting out a variety of attacks, most of them psychic ones.

"You idiots! Use something he isn't resistant to!" Somnus snapped as he turned to the pink creature. Mew himself looked to be very angry. He drew his hands together and formed a black sphere and flung it at a Banette and shoved the ghost-type back. So far the Legendary didn't have a scratch on him, but that would change. "Fire everything you have!"

Somnus couldn't do much here, but the others could. "Weaken him down! Get him paralyzed!" If they could do that then Somnus would have a breeze forcing the Legendary to sleep.
