Previous conversation was too edgy for me.
Watched a lot of random stuff today. Picked a movie without looking on demand. First was a Jamie Foxx movie called "Breakin' All the Rules", which I watched the first 30 minutes of with my brother. Not bad. Not funny, either...though I couldn't tell when it was trying to be. Other than the dog pee.
After that, watched Meet the Croods. Really good movie, right there. Other than being incredibly creative and not hitting the "modern cavemen" cliches (but still being about modern cavemen), it just hit all the familial points that I liked. And I love me some family-centric media.
And now, Yamada's First Time, or B Gata H Kei. Made me realize some things about Dubs and Subs that I hadn't been able to put into words before, and the relatability of one over the other. I'll go over them the next time the topic comes up. But this show is definitely a dub > sub show. The English voices and dialogue is way more natural and the voices less annoying. And then there's that small sex god that follows the story around to lighten it up because sex is a thing, basically to the effect of Babbit from Kodocha trying the make the story more lighthearted when it got too real (And oh did that show get real). Both are unnecessary, really, though I'm slightly more lenient with this thing because I'm 50% sure it's my love Laura Bailey. Generally I can tell, even if she disguises her voice, and here I'm pretty sure, but she has pretty short lines.
