Hi.

Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooo. I ran ccleaner and had forgotten that it would remove my theme, totally forgotten which one it was.

It was just a simple light one with blue accents, anybody know which one it was?

Previous conversation was too edgy for me.

Watched a lot of random stuff today. Picked a movie without looking on demand. First was a Jamie Foxx movie called "Breakin' All the Rules", which I watched the first 30 minutes of with my brother. Not bad. Not funny, either...though I couldn't tell when it was trying to be. Other than the dog pee.

After that, watched Meet the Croods. Really good movie, right there. Other than being incredibly creative and not hitting the "modern cavemen" cliches (but still being about modern cavemen), it just hit all the familial points that I liked. And I love me some family-centric media.

And now, Yamada's First Time, or B Gata H Kei. Made me realize some things about Dubs and Subs that I hadn't been able to put into words before, and the relatability of one over the other. I'll go over them the next time the topic comes up. But this show is definitely a dub > sub show. The English voices and dialogue is way more natural and the voices less annoying. And then there's that small sex god that follows the story around to lighten it up because sex is a thing, basically to the effect of Babbit from Kodocha trying the make the story more lighthearted when it got too real (And oh did that show get real). Both are unnecessary, really, though I'm slightly more lenient with this thing because I'm 50% sure it's my love Laura Bailey. Generally I can tell, even if she disguises her voice, and here I'm pretty sure, but she has pretty short lines.

B Gata H Kei is fantastic, well the manga was. I seem to recall enjoying the manga quite a bit more than the toon this time.

Found my theme, splendid.

Ah, styles. Really should get to changing mine, sometime. Been on Dawn of Champions practically since I rejoined.

Also, just finished episode 2. Found out in the credits that the annoying sex god Babbit thing isn't voiced by Laura Bailey. And that this show doesn't know how to shut up and let a joke sink in. Someone always has to chime in.

Funny that you bring that up, because I yesterday I was looking for anime in my library that had cohesive openings, ones where the animation and audio work so well together that when you think of the song, you think not just of the animation, but the anime, too. Rinbu Revolution is an incredibly cohesive (and well done opening).

A lot of older anime had really cohesive openings, actually. They weren't infected by the "slow panning still shot" or "characters standing still and waiting for song to end" trends that you see a more lately. Not so much that it's a problem, though.

Yeah, now anime openings are often 90 second adverts for a band. Not awful in a lot of cases but it was certainly better when openings were really a part of the show. Would be amazing if having songs written specifically for the show came back into fashion.

One of the many things better about toons back then.

Only saw the Donald Duck one, myself. It was pretty entertaining (and REALLY good quality for the 40s)

@Laptrap - Strangely, I agree with you 100%. Don't think that's allowed. Slightly scared that the universe is imploding or something. Gonna sleep with one eye open tonight, just in case.
