As I was changing my avatar, I suddenly thought to myself: how exactly do inanimate object mons mate?

So yeah, basically, how do you think inanimate object mons reproduce? Do they even have genitals? I know this is a silly question but I'm somehow wondering how Dhelmise mates...

I think the fact that you can leave two very different species together with the possibility of an egg appearing in a matter of minutes proves that reproduction isn't like anything that happens on Earth. If Pokemon can create fire, lightning, plants, etc., surely they're capable of coming together to create an egg.

If a mommy Pokemon and a daddy Pokemon loves each other, and they are in the same egg group, and are different gender, then an egg will pop out after taking a few steps. :)

My personal headcanon for your icon, Dhelmise, is that when it feels the need to reproduce--it diligently gathers seaweed from varying places including its own body, then bundles it up somewhere safe in a place where there's high spiritual energy, like a sunken ship (that's why they tend to nest there) and hope something is reborn from it.

I had this thought when I bred a Spiritomb. Had to sit there for a couple minutes trying to figure out in what possible way that thing could produce and egg, and with what. I don't think we were meant to think about these things lol.
