When you are using Bebe's PC there is an option to Mark the pokemon with a shape.
I use it when breeding to keep track of different generations.

Does anyone else use it? For what?

No, I really keep my pokedex simple... just team members and catch some pokemon I come across and like :) So no need to mark them

I use it to mark Pokemon when breeding (only if it requires several pokes, though. I can usually keep track if its a small number). I also use it to mark EV'd Pokemon.

You can use that feature to mark your EV Pokemon. I don't use it, because I don't bother with in-game training. I use Shoddy for that. XD

Yeah I mark my Pokemon. I usually mark my shinies and other important Pokemon.

My shinies have their own box... I usually mark pokemon who's being EV trained, as well as my more favorite ones, so I can find them easier. Oh, and my HM slaves, for the same reason.

I actually mark as many pokemon as I can.. Which really defeats the purpose of the mark but I like to do it anyways.

    In the 3rd gen, I usually marked all 4 shapes for my party members and favorites. Ev trained pokemon were marked with first 3. IV bred babies were marked with the heart. Clones were marked with the square. Wild/caught pokemon were marked with the circle. Pokemon from different save files and good friends had their own combination of marks too. I don't know how I even remembered them all. XD;

For 4th gen, my "marking system" remained mostly the same. The only difference is that my chained shinies are marked in the order I catch them so I don't mix them up. Everything from trades are left unmarked. No love for them. =P

Meh I might do start to o it to tell the difference between to EV'd pokemon of the same species, but even then I nickname them

This belongs better in Pokémon General because it can apply to Gen III as well, so I'll move it there.

    *moves*

I don't mark my Pokémon, although it would help when breeding to keep track of the best babies. I just can't be bothered. x_x

I see it as useless... Well, I do use it sometimes. For breeding and stuff and to tell the EV'd from the non-EV'd. I don't trust in-game training anyway...

Almost all my shiny Pokemon get a mark, that's the only thing I use marks on

I mark my Pocket Monsters based in the areas they've received effort values. Really effective.

I marked ONE pokémon, and that was Umbreon... purely because I had 6 Eevee's in my team, and I wanted to check which one I had been trying to make happier at night to evolve it. It evolved, but I kept the mark.

I marked the ones I liked best with a heart x3

And I marked the HM-slaves with a dot or a square... and the pokémon on my current team with the other of those two markings. This was in Ruby version.

I don't really train my Pokémon (other than getting them to Lv100) or do any breeding except to get lower stages of rare Pokémon that I evolved, so I don't really use the marks. My brother did, though, for whatever reason...
