I haven't really been that into either anime or manga for years, but I was into manga for longer. I have a fair number of some series... Of course, I haven't read some of them. I have 10 volumes of Dragon Knights, but I've only read 9. Probably because I kept planning to reread the others so I could figure out what the hell was going on. For those of you who don't know, Dragon Knights is more complicated than the United States tax code.

I have never really enjoyed reading Manga. Read a couple but i guess it just doesn't do it for me. I'd much rather read a novel.

    So Anime gets my vote.

I was into anime first but I have to say I enjoy reading manga a lot more. A cover more ground in less time than the anime, also there are no pointless fillers to waste my time

Whichever one is better. Sometimes the manga is better, sometimes the anime is better. It depends on the series. Sometimes they both have their strong and/or weak points.

Usually I like anime over manga; I have no idea why, since I love to read. I guess it has to do with the confusing way japanese manga is read, from right to left...or something like that.

I used to prefer watching anime for any series. But, I like reading the manga these days. But, both have their strong and weak points.

If a manga has an anime version I prefer that simply on the fact that I find colorful moving pictures with music and sounds to be better at holding my attention (and sometimes easier to follow what's going on) than panels of drawings. I'll still read it, though, 'cause it definitely has its own appeal and often manga series don't have an anime. One thing that bugs me is that sometimes an anime will just get cut off or end in the middle of the story, not like go on hiatus for the manga to get further, but just end. :/

Most of the time, when I want to get into a series, there's already an anime adaptation of it, so why not? Anime these days is rather quick with the soft-subbing while manga does not have that convenience and can be quite some while before it is accessible in English. Additionally, I can just sit back and watch anime, while manga requires turning pages and such. Also, any manga that doesn't have an anime adaptation and I'm interested in reading usually has nobody translating it or slow/bad translations, so that demoralizes reading manga for me even more.

I don't judge by "So and so is better in the manga" or "So and so was changed from the manga", I just do what's easier for me. Which is watch anime.

Anime. I used to buy manga once a month from the local anime store, but I stopped doing it because it's just an expensive hobby. Not to mention, the store closed down a while ago, so that's that.

Manga is really not my thing anyway. I still have quite a handful of manga I have not read yet (they are still sealed in plastic) and I'm the kind of person who likes multitasking and if you read manga, you know you have to hold it with two hands unless your binding is loose (sometimes you can hold it with one hand, but your hand gets tired).

As with anime, I can have my Windows Media Player window open and watch an anime while having another window open so I can look at things on the Internet. Or if it's breakfast, lunch, or dinner time, I can go into another room and eat while watching anime. If I was eating food and reading manga, it would get all dirty and I hate that because I like having my books in good condition (which is why I don't like reading manga in public either because people come up to you and ask you if they can read it after you're done like you are their personal library and then they don't take good care of it because it's not theirs).

Anyway, if I were to read something, I would rather sit and read a good length novel than a graphic novel. Besides, if I'm reading an action manga, I might as well just watch the anime and see the animation. It's just more appealing to me.

I usually prefer anime. Not that I hate manga, but moving pictures is better than pictures alone. Although sometimes the mange is usually better than the anime. Then I read the manga.

Almost all animes are adapted from a manga or novel, so the original story lies there. If I didn't like the anime, I'll try the manga. And if the anime ended, leaving many chapters from the manga, I will continue the story by reading it from the manga or novel.

I prefer anime. I don't know why but I never really liked reading manga. I prefer watching the action than reading it. I like reading normal books, but for some reason I just can't stand to read even one chapter of manga :/

A while ago I preferred manga because the source material is usually better (just like a book is usually superior to its movie format) and it was faster for me to read manga than watch anime because I was in control of how quickly I moved through the series and there's often less filler.

Buuuut lately I prefer anime because I can multitask while watching it and it holds my attention better. That and I can't afford the hobby of collecting manga anymore. xD; I could in high school but now that I'm more into video games, most of my spare money goes toward that rather than anime/manga so dropping $12 on a single book (let alone all the series I used to follow) just won't work for me anymore. (And I hate reading manga on a screen so. Oh well.)

It matters if I read the manga first or watched the anime first. If I read the manga I would usually check out the anime, but if I watched the anime first I usually don't check the manga. (Except on one occasion when the Sailor Moon manga was good...)
Also, I sometimes have some time to read some light novels - and they can be better than both the anime and manga. I think it's because I like reading :)

I'm almost exclusively an anime watcher for the colors, music, animation, sheer availability and convenience of being able to sit and watch. I used to purchase manga back in Asia where it was slightly less costly to buy a volume; now I don't have that benefit. Otherwise, reading a manga online is a pain on the eyes, it's occasionally difficult to tell what's going on in each panels, and text boxes can be convoluted to read.

Both equally. Manga has some things that Anime doesn't have and Anime has some things that Manga doesn't have.

The only thing that I like about manga more, is that they're usually longer than the anime. Or if the anime is a long one, like Bleach, then the manga has no fillers.
