    Well, which is it? For me, I put it after. It's a habit. :)

    Also some people don't even use * so tell us what you do use if you don't.

    ... Yeah, before for me. After seems more like an add-on rather than a correction-- okay this is confusing me. :[ But yeah, before.

    Befere. It looks nicer than after.

    *Before.

    On MSN, yes. On forums, no I just go back and edit my post.

    I put it in before, it looks weird after imo.

    Exactly as he says. I only do it on msn, only if the mistake is pretty obvious. Otherwise i leave it seeing as the other person should have some sense and understand >_>

    Before, because in my opinion you're making it aware that you're correcting something before you actually correct it. o_o; Sorta like speech marks. :D

    On IM, I put two asterisks after anything I have to correct. I've actually never seen anyone do it before the word until today. o_o;

    I only use it when I'm on instant messenger. If I'm not, then I simply go back and edit my post. I wouldn't see the use in editing to put an asterisk before/after it when I can use the same amount of time and fix the entire word. When I am on instant messenger, I put the asterisk before the word. It just looks nicer that way, and I don't know why.

    On MSN, almost always, unless I spelt it incorrectly but you can still tell what the word is. On Forums, no, I just go back and edit my posts x3

    After. Before just looks ridiculous to me.

    on IM chats, it's usually after the corrected word...

    in the forums themselves, I just edit it without acknowledging it. XP

    I usually put one asterisk before the word. But, if I'm feeling silly, I'll say something like:

    "I mean photosynthesis. I'm such a dillhead. *shot*"

    Yea, I've got that habit from one of my friends over three years ago and I still do it in AIM's and Emails

    Sometimes I do, sometimes I don't. I put the * before my correction when I do use it.

    Blegh, I tend to make typos while correcting my topos, sooo...
