The choir gets to wear a nice black dress with a pearl necklace for proper uniform. We have to wear a boring white buttoned shirt, black palazzo pants, and a hideous and a choker of a bow tie :< I don't mind dressing like a guy, but the bow tie really does it for me. At least we don't have to wear a cummerbund.

Even in middle school band we had to wear a nice white shirt, black pants/skirt (girls got to pick :>), and then a bow tie and a cummerbund. At least we got to pick what to wear rather than wear the same thing. /is the black sheep in a herd of white sheep

Three more quotes/summaries/paraphrases from Pygmalion and then I have to find at least two more sources plus get 35 more notes done.

34. I never knew of any baccalaureate happening at my school. Of course, the band and choir rarely did joint performances because the largest public facility in town was and still is the high school gymnasium, which, if arranged right, barely had enough room for the junior/senior bands and choirs while still having enough room for any sort of crowd.

That and the logistics of having both groups perform at the same time would've been a problem because half of the choir members were also band members.

The band had formal wear for its sole uniform, while the choir had purple and white robes and still had to wear formal wear underneath it. The band instructors were much more flexible than the choir instructor on whether girls needed to wear a dress, though.

35.

Middle School it looked like we all worked at this one grocery store we have around here. xDD;

My High School was an arts school, so the arts were pretty important. Choir and Band only really had the baccalaureate and graduation as a joint performance, but the band also had the pep rallies and our Principal supported us (if she didn't we probably wouldn't have been able to have a trip with only a concert making it school related, haha).

My school emphasizes Catholicism (no, really), but we still don't play any religious songs in band. Except for the occasional Christmas music. And the only class where we really talk about religion is Religion class itself. And even that isn't all about Christianity. Heck, next year we're required to do World Religion/Commitment.

My first one was just a generic public high school. Second was... crappier generic public high school. Senior year high school? It was nicer. A looot nicer. More emphasis on extra-currics and whatnot. But still, generic high shool.

39. There's jokes about my hometown that people in surrounding towns have. Some of them are nice, some not so nice. Most of them pertain to the town's recently acquired reputation of being inhabited by the wealthy. One such example:

"You know you've entered *insert name of my hometown here* because the houses double in size."

Kinda a lame joke, haha.
