honestly i gathered that too

i can't imagine a world where i didn't have free reign to swear outside of the corporate realm - it's such an 'nz' thing but by 'nz' they mean 'white nz' lmao
as i have a couple of chinese friends that are uh.... not as entitled to that freedom as i am lmao
 
i don't think my parents have ever heard me swear.
nor have any kids. i'm usually very good at not letting it slip

I curse way more than I should in front of everyone that I know.

I'm actually way more polite on PC and at work than I am otherwise, and even in front of coworker guy friends I curse way more there now than I used to.

We get so used to joking around that I said "bitch what the fUCK?" to one of them right as a customer walked up, and I felt part of my soul die, because I am polite customer service staff, and for a moment I wondered if I'd still have a job. I also once dropped someone's pizza and went "Shit!" out of frustration, and apologized so much. The lady was like "It's okay, I understand", but still y'all. Still.

Fam sometimes calls me out if I'm too bad, but in general, I started doing that years ago in front of them, and can't be bothered to stop now. :x

This is fairly interesting to me because in China a loooooot of Chinese kids swear in English or Chinese. I feel like I'm in a constant battle with the system trying to teach these kids what is and isn't acceptable language. Like when it is in English I can tell them these words are not acceptable in a classroom setting and the reaction can be anywhere from finding it funny (usually the demon children but that's not the usual reaction) to it just completely going over their heads and not understanding this culturally because I doubt the Chinese teachers are telling them off if they throw in a 'shit' or a 'what the fuck' every now and then considering how regular this kind of thing happens. Also when they swear in Chinese my teaching assistant pretty much never has a reaction to it, so to me that makes it seem like saying something like 傻屄/傻逼 (stupid ****) in a classroom is not as big a deal to them. The assistant most of the time unsure why I am making a point of why that isn't acceptable language in a classroom too when it happens and I have to address it.
 
Oh I swear a lot lmao. Thankfully I've never slipped while working with children but there've been some close calls.

Something I did though very recently was swear very loudly down the phone while talking to the welfare department. Not at them, my cat tried to make a run for it for some reason and we have indoor cats. So in the middle of an otherwise (surprisingly) productive conversation this poor woman suddenly had the sound of numerous expletives exploding in her ear while I hobbled around to round the damn animal up.
 
After I saw Iron Man 3 in theaters with my parents I said something to the lines of "I knew she was going to come back and kick his ass" and my parents literally braked in the middle of the road and glared at me. I lost my Nintendo for two weeks. ^^;

More recently though I said shit in from of my dad and he lost it. Thankfully he's not the type to ground me nowadays.
