So guys, E3 is coming to a close now - but who do you think "won" E3? Which E3 stole the show for you, and why?

Gonna go with Microsoft. Sony had a lot of surprises and and Nintendo gave me a few games to add to my Wii U/3DS list, but ultimately Microsoft just gave me more reason to care about the Xbox One and, really, anything Microsoft. I don't particularly hold the company in high regard, if I'm to be completely honest, but the Augmented Reality was pretty cool and the conference allowed my to once and for all say goodbye to my dying Xbox 360, giving worth back the my (and many others') 360 games and ultimately giving me a reason to use the Xbox One. Similarly, it gave me a reason to actually recommend the system, especially for 360 owners.

For Sony's, I didn't really feel more enticed to buy a PS4 after it due to a lot of the games coming out on PC, and after finding out that The Last Guardian is being finished not out of desire but because of contractual obligation, I'm more looking forward to the other projects that will be coming out from them and can wait on TLG despite having waited so long for it. It had a lot of shocks and hoorahs, but it also had a lot of "First on PS4s" and available elsewhere's that made it better for me as a general gamer than a Sony consumer. And the supposed "In memoriam" to the Vita, that. That happened. Can't say I was particularly happy.

As for Nintendo, again, it gave me some games to add to my already large "to buy" list for the Wii U and 3DS, but I'd be hard-pressed to say that its conference was on level with MS'. Its Treehouse, on the other hand, did a fantastic job of showing off several games for Nintendo's consoles, with a notable example being the previously mysterious Genei Ibun Roku #FE (SMT vs. Fire Emblem) which now has a plethora of gameplay footage on display.

Bethesda won this year's E3 with Doom, Fallout 4, and the Elder Scrolls Legends. Every other conference were either at least decent (Microsoft with its backwards compatibility), underwhelming (Nintendo, though I'm still enjoying their treehouse livestream), or downright awful (Ubisoft, trying way too hard to be edgy).

Bethesda and Microsoft are pretty close, but I think Good ol Beth took home the gold. I was already dying for FO4 and now it's even worse! But at least I'm one of the few with a non-scalper pip-boy edition to my name!

Microsoft second for pretty much their whole conference (Halo 5: Republic Commando, anyone?)

Ubisoft came in 3rd for me mostly because of Ghost Recon, Rainbow Six, and The Division (But oh god that 'chatter')

I will pick two 'winners' I suppose since there is two levels of competition - publishers and hardware developers.

Amongst the publishers who had conferences I would pick Bethesda. I feel all the conferences were reasonably good by Beth, EA and Ubi, but for me personally I am much more interested in Fallout than the games from the other publishers and while I may not buy Doom it did look like a great revival for the series. EA had a lot of poor moments to counteract the positive direction Battlefront and Need For Speed appear to have went in. One such poor moment for me was the Plants vs Zombies reveal which is just far from my type of game so it was underwhelming they spent time on it, but a much more important negative was the lack of progress in the sports games. Ubi was probably good objectively, but I struggle to hype myself up for games from Ubi anymore as E3 will make them look much better than they eventually are on release. Regardless all three still had their fair share of good reveals.

Amongst the hardware developers, for me personally Sony is a clear winner. The exclusives look amazing especially Horizon and I'm impressed with the selection of franchises they appear to have timed exclusives for as well. MS was quite good and the announcement of backwards compatibility is certainly a winner, but the new games were lacking and the most impressive ones had already been revealed to some extent beforehand. Ninty aren't really worth mentioning, the only bad conference in the entirety of E3.

tl;dr Personally - Sony & Bethesda by far. Objectively (as objective as you can be with these things) - Sony by a small amount & Bethesda tied with Ubisoft.
