4th Gen Early Game Pokemon

I just hope they don't add any Bidoofs and its nerves of steel.

ME neither, Bidoof is just simply easy to trade with DPPt. I wouldn't appreciate seeing it in the remake, at least not so common either. Plus, I wouldn't like to see it early without obtaining the National Dex either.

I mean, why else didn't they allow Hoenn natives to trade over to FRLG right away, because then it won't really be like what the originals were like.
Because that time, their goal was to stay as true to the originals as possible, and we don't know if that's going to be the case this time (but from what I've seen, it's not).

Yeah, it removes the authenticity of the remake like you said before.

I didn't mind the Gen. II early pokemon. They weren't so bad.

I hope they just have the originals as last time. I had fun catching Caterpie and as it evolved into Butterfree, it was one of my primary starters. As well as Pidgey, when it evolved into Pidgeot it was really awesome. I also temporarily use Hoothoot so I can get Noctowl, it really comes in handy.

Actually, I doubt they'll change much of the Pokémon encounters, because in a recent blog from last week [/a thread was made with this blog here as well] One of the workder on the game said they are trying to keep the game more to it's original counterpart for the old Gold and Silver fans.

For the person who said no Bidoof, I agree. I really don't want to see Bidoof. I despise Bidoof. I refuse to use it. Same goes for Zigzagoon. I actually liked the early game Pokemon. It kind of made sense to see some Kanto Pokemon early because New Bark Town is right near Kanto. It's just a Surf away. Besides, Pokemon like Poliwag, Slowpoke, Eevee, and Oddish evolve into Johto Pokemon. Though, I wish I didn't have to trade Poliwhirl to make it evolve. I rather just have it evolve by giving it the King's Rock. With all the Kanto Pokes at the beginning, it allows me to focus on my starter and get it to evolve before catching a 2nd Pokemon. So far (in Silver), I have Ampharos, Poliwhirl (evolves into Politoed), Sudowoodo, Eevee (soon to be Espeon or Umbreon), Quilava, and Farfetch'd. 3 of them are Kanto Pokemon, however, 2 of them can evolve into Johto Pokemon.

Pokemon I wouldn't mind seeing early: Aipom, Teddiursa, Sneasel, Smoochum, Elekid, Magby, Misdreavous, Murkrow, Houndour...

Houndour for one definitely needs to show up earlier because I don't know why it was placed in the Kanto to begin with.

^Agreed.

Some of those may be version exclusives though.

I remember Teddiursa was exclusive to Gold.

Agreed. If anything, they should put it in Burnt Tower or at least where you were able to catch Vulpix in Silver. I really want to use Houndour in Johto instead of going to Kanto and have all my Pokemon way stronger than it.

Yeah, Gligar and Houndour definitely needs to make an earlier appearance if anything were to be changed with their location of encounter. For one, they are both two Pokémon that I actually like too.

I hope they do keep it ornate and similar to the originals, but i would like some new things aswell
One of the game developers (or something along the lines) has mentioned in an interview about adding "action" type features to the games

Did they specify on the word "action" and features in relation to one another?

Though, yeah if they keep the Pokémon encounters to how it was in teh original, I wouldn't mind at all, as it would be like playing GSC all over again, which is what I want it to feel like. Though, I can't help but hope they put Houndour in its rightful region. Why would they even think of making it so late in the game, and in another region for that matter?

It says "action element" to be precise
i can't help wonder what that would be though :S
like sliding your stylus across the screen to throw your pokeball or direct your move? god knows.

Hearing the word element reminds me, that what you heard I believe was not referring to the remake, but to another game...

Anyway, there are a lot of things that can change, early Pokémon encountering has a chance.

Can't we get Togekiss really early with the Togepi egg Oak gives us?

What about Natu and Smeargle? Were they catchable early on since they are in the Ruins of Alph?

And what possibilities will the Odd Egg give us? Perhaps a shiny Tyrogue will help vs. Whitney. xD

And Oblivious Slowpoke would help against Attract. :P

Didn't Togekiss evolve with a Shiny Stone? They could always leave the Shiny Stone after the Elite Four so that way it'll stay a Togetic, but only until after the Elite.

I guess... but that would kind of suck. xD

I forget... can you get Slowpoke in the Slowpoke Well? Or are there only Zubat? O_O
