There are tons of good Normal types in GSC. The ones that come to mind are Blissey and Miltank (both VERY good), but there are also ones like Granbull, Ursaring, Stantler, and Girafarig (pretty strong, too).

Good Fire types include Houndoom and of course Typhlosion, Ho-oh and Entei. An okay one is Magcargo.

thanks
now I will set up the utimate TEAM

wait...are there any gyms that Cyndaquill is weak aganist

Cyndaquil is the best starter to choose, but Chikorita is the best if you want a challenge. Totodile is in the middle.

And if you need help with finding other good Pokemon types, just ask!~ ^_^

Good Electric types: Mareep, Pichu, Elekid, Chinchou.

Good Ice types: Sneasel, Smoochum/Jynx, Swinub (all are found late in the game though... in the Ice Cave).

thanks

Probably Clair's and Misty's gym? Clair's Pokemon know water moves, but by that time, you can use an Ice Type Pokemon from Ice Cave to defeat her Dragon types. Or you can teach an Ice Move to a water Pokemon (hint Red Gyarados hint). Same goes for Misty. Cyndaquil is a good starter if you want to get through the game easily. Cyndaquil's fire moves are really good for Jasmine's gym. If you don't start off with Cyndaquil, you can teach Ampharos Fire Punch.

By the time you get to Clair or Misty you will have a good team already to take on the Dragon and Water types. Kingdra is hard no matter who you choose...

When I get the game, I'm going to make a Normal and Grass team. Only Chikorita, Furret, Miltank, and Bellossom before the Elite Four. Maybe Mareep, too. Normal + Grass = my favorites. <33

So Cyndaquil is the best starter!
Good, cause I've always chosen Cyndaquil.

I like to get a mareep normally and train it up to Ampharos, and that helps me with Clair..
and Kristy Haruka, I see you found an avatar, it's pretty :P [off topic-ish]

And thanks! :)

Twilight there are way too many... xD

If early Game Pokemon equals gyms 1-3: Pidgey, Sentret, Jigglypuff, Spearow, Mareep, Goldeen, Tentacool, Magikarp, Onix, Geodude, Sandshrew, Bellsprout, Gastly, Rattata, Ekans, Hoppip, Wooper, Zubat, Ledyba, Spinarak, Hoothoot, Poliwag, Psyduck (ilex forest), Oddish, Drowsee, Snubbull, Caterpie, Metapod, Butterfree, Nidoran (male and female), Paras, Machop (in-game trade), Ditto, Exeggcute, Sunkern, Weedle, Kakuna, Beedrill, Pineco, Dunsparce...

Edit: I just noticed you edited it to make it 1-4. Okay, then. Meowth, Miltank, Eevee, Sudowoodo, Tauros (you can go to Olivine City before even battling Morty, btw)...Koffing, Unown...I might add more later.

Thank you
Early game pokemon might have some Sinnoh pokemon

That could be a possibility, but I wouldn't like that to happen. This is a remake and if it had the Sinnoh pokemon early in the game it would not bring back the nostalgic feel. I would leave the Sinnoh pokemon for after the Elite Four.

Gligar was on that route that went all the way down from Blackthorn City to New Bark Town.

I hope he's catchable earlier this time round, I want a Gliscor and I like to train my Pokemon from low levels early in the game.

Yeah, the early Pokémon you can catch before the 4th Gym are pretty good, I would only add in more Johto types to it. Nothing needs to be really changed other than that, because those Pokémon when they later evolve can be pretty strong on any in-game team.

Also, Gilgar was only able to be caught in Gold and was found on Route 45.

The early pokemon probably won't be changed that much. G/S/C really weren't that hard to beat, I mean, they had the lowest lvls of E4 pokemon.

THey did have the lowest level Elites. Anyway, yeah I doubt it'll change much either, if anything they'll remove or add in a few here and there.

All of the early Johto pokemon were a total bore fest. Rattata, Pidgey, Sentret, Hoot-Hoot, Geodude, Gastly (at night)...when most of these were also the main focus in the last game, that's bad news. :/
This is why I want 3/4th gens so badly pre-nat dex in this game. Most of the pokemon are either Kanto natives or boring. The good ones aren't available until far into the game. Abysmally low wild pokemon levels don't help either. The other two generations widened the spectrum a little, by adding a little more variety without putting in too many early-game ubers.

Furret > Linoone though. Trufax.

Even if a lot of people may not fancy the earlier Pokémon from the originals, if they add in the newer Gen Pokémon to this remake, then it'll kind of defeat the purpose of it being a remake. I mean, why else didn't they allow Hoenn natives to trade over to FRLG right away, because then it won't really be like what the originals were like.
