We have a good number of Card shops throughout Montreal and some of my friends works at one. So if I ever want a card really badly, I buy the singles and if I'm lucky, my friends will give me a good price :-P
If not, I just buy booster packs and hoping for the best :3
I buy all my individual cards (same with boosters, tins, boxes, and anything else) from the same place. I ddin't vote for booster since recently I been only buying individual cards I need for my collection. I get all of mine at Poke Order, I haven't had a bad experience with them so far.
i dont collect pokemon cards anymore. but if i still did..
BOOSTER PACKS!
i mean, come on people. you can't match the excitement of not knowing what cards your going to be getting.
buying them off ebay to me would take the fun out of collecting.
If I was going to buy pokemon cards I would always go for booster packs as Ebay is
very expevise for one card and you do not know if the card is damaged or not.
I go through online sometimes. Usually amazon. But i usually just buy singles from the card shop if they have them.
But usually i try to trade for stuff. But i did buy 2 booster boxes to get stuff i need and then trade for what i dont get and or sell it to the store for singles i want for decks.
If I'm looking for a specific rare, I'll sometimes use ebay. It's something I don't like to do often because I've heard stories of people getting fake cards (thankfully that hasn't happened to me yet). I prefer to trade though, and I hang out at a card shop regularly and I'm friendly with the owner so I get a decent exposure. That being said, I prefer to get boosters, as well as the collector tins. I play online as well, and you don't get codes for the online game via buying singles. :7:
I don't actually collect the cards enough anymore to be hunting for specific ones, so I'll just buy a couple of booster packs every once and a while if I feel like it. I'm sure if eBay had existed back when I first started collecting, though, I would've drove my parents insane asking for all the cards that I wanted on there.
Well, if I'm looking for a rare card (ex, Prime, Lx. X, EX, Legend, etc.) then I use eBay. I only buy boosters from stores in hopes of getting a rare card for a much lower price or I if I want to add to a collection. I remember one day I bought a bundle of three boosters from a store, and every booster had a Lv. X or Prime. Definitely one of my luckiest days lol
I love booster packs, and I never buy a single card that is currently in print. If it's an out of print card, then yes, I'll use ebay or another online store. I also really like to go to card shops - I live near a very quirky city, and there's a huge nerd culture there, so there are a ton of card and game stores that I love.
I always buy a box of booster packs and whatever booster decks come out with each new set, but unless I'm building a specific deck, I'd order off Troll and Toad, or something.
Booster packs 90% of the time followed by going to the Brick-and-Morter store. Then if all else falls to find a specific card in town, then I'll start searching online.
I usually will eBay cards as I am comfortable getting single cards however if I really like a set, I may just buy a booster box and then hope to pull the card(s) from it.
Pokemon cards are fairly cheap too, so it's not that expensive to grab some singles that you need.
