Well, the forum title DID say all forms of emulation, and discussing non-Pokemon emulators wasn't against the forum rules, so...

I've been really aching to play PS2 games, but I lack a console. So I was thinking; should I invest in parts for emulation, or should I buy the console and a converter box so I can connect to my computer? The console might be cheaper than a better video card, but then again I should probably upgrade my processor too. What do you guys think?

You need console and the game if you wanna play it with emulator, as it's against law to have these kinds of things on your computer if you doesn't really own 'em.
So, buy the console and games for it. :D

If your like me you want to do whatever's cheapest, so I think that if the right deal comes along, take it. whatever it may be. If they both cost the same amount then get the video card, because it will be able to play other games and, I think the games they come out with for the comps will reqire higher and higher graphics cards and such.

And it's not against the law to emulate at all?

Just saying, also, its probably better just to buy the console, PS2 is still a strong system in the gaming world, still sells a lot of games, and it's pretty cheap to get a used system, even a new one.
