    They should create an event Stantler
    It would have a different sprite, with use of red and green colors, and a red nose(similar to the Notched Ear Pichu)
    Its ID would be 12025, OT Santa, SANTA, ST NICK, or something of the sort
    It would have special event moves wish, present, and maybe metronome(just cause I like that move)
    Its encounter thing would be like Midnight encounter, December 25, 2009
    Thoughts, anyone?

    That's the downside to the whole political correctness idea.
    People would bring this up, it'd be on the news and stuff I'm guessing

    ALSO, anyone who celebrates different holidays post your event ideas
     
    Lanturn or Ampharos for Diwali? With Flash and any other light based moves.

    i like the idea. maybe even a jirachi christmas tree star. or a valentine's day luvdisc.
     
    Moved to Pokemon General because this isn't specific to HG/SS at all. (Nor can it happen in HG/SS now anyways, if it did we'd know already thanks to the hackers). But I see potential for this thread to discuss this and perhaps the viability of holiday event Pokemon, etc... so continue unless a mod in this section doesn't like it. =P
     
    As cute as that sounds, it would just end up rotting in my pc box. Plus something like that would probably be at one of those event store gatherings. Which I would not attend... seeing as I don't for any of those things. Either that or you'd get it over wifi, which I don't have. :)

    Haha, but don't most events end up doing that?

    And since this thread is doing better than I thought, I'll posy my other event idea.
    It's a Pikachu, OT ASH
    But this Pikachu has equal stats to mew or celebi(all 100s)
    I think this would be a good idea because of how iconic Pikachu is, but it is just too weak to use in any form of battling
    Thoughts?

    Exactly. Thats why I'm never able to get them. Thus my hate for them lives on. :(
     
    I like this idea but it's unlikely happening.

    Or maybe an idea for Easter Bunny? xD

    It'd be a nice touch, but I'm going to say that it can't happen, mainly because of two things. Firstly, what somebody said before, the sprites would already have to be in the game prior to the event. Unless they've planned this from two years ago or whenever Diamond and Pearl first came out, this would be a problem. The other thing is that because of political correctness, if Christmas had a giveaway Pokémon then every other religion and their pet dog would want a giveaway on their holidays as well, meaning it'd ruin the whole "woah it's an event" feel.
     
    I don't see this ever happening, the only holiday Nintendo would do an event for is Tanabata and they have.
     
    I get the idea that the sprite would have to already be built into the game, but what about some type of jirachi type thing?(from seperate system)
    Maybe it could transfer the data onto the game, but not be part of the pokedex?

    I was just about to say that, but I love the idea :D Maybe someone can make a hack, (like Enhanced Platinum Version) and include them :)
     
    lol, I like all the idea's I'm hearing. And technically they could still happen because Nintendo could issue some update to the game over the WFC but will they? No, obviously they arent intelligent enough, I mean they're charging more for they're hand held than for their console.
     
    Besides the whole political correctedness thing, I think this would be a really good idea! =D
    Personally, I lurve stantler, and having one that knew wish would be cool xD
    ...of course, delibird should get a Christmas thing too then...
