Perhaps the team's name won't be tied to the name of the games or the legend's typings. Rocket and Flare had little to nothing to do with their respective generations' names.

When it comes to my thoughts about what the name of the evil team could be, here are my thoughts. (Note: both are outer space themed):

Team Asteroid
Team Black Hole

I think Team Quasar would sound cooler than Black Hole (which sounds kind of lame for an evil team tbh). Maybe Team Meteor?
If it's tied to fate and destiny like I'm expecting they could be called Team Fate or Team Destiny (or two teams with those names).

I dunno whether or not this has been already said, but I think there'd be just one evil theme with the plan to cause a solar eclipse . ( Çause a Lunar eclipse wouldn't do much damage, right?)

Really think the "evil team plotting to destroy x" thing is played out, but it's Pokemon, so they'll do it.


I'd love the one evil theme suggestion. I'd love for both games to tie together with one storyline, but two different ways of getting there. But then it would feel like you're forced into buying two games, and a lot of people would be unhappy with that.

I hope they aim for something other than take over the world (Rocket, Plasma's true goal) or try to destory it to remake it (Magma, Aqua, Galactic, Flare).

You know what? I would like a heroic team for once, you know, they could
treat PC as a rival or as a kid who should stay in Pokémon training and leave world
saving to adults. You could still have members of the team challenging you for some
random reason (such as to kill time, or to test you skills) so the gameplay wouldn't
be affected.
If GF is going to run evil team again, they might as well make them humorous, I
liked team Aqua in ORAS quite a bit for that reason, and it doesn't come off as jarring as very serious team that gets defeated by a fresh trainer anyway.

I don't really care about Evil Teams anymore, they are barely a threat since they overuse weak common pokemons.

True. I would prefer a real good - like, very good - rival better than a evil team.

Seeing as this region will be placed in Spain or Italy, both have had religious strife. It is quite possible our region's teams will be two different religion extremist groups who constantly go at ends with each other, both of them wanting control of the government. Alternatively, we might get a team who wants to keep control of the government while the revolutionary one will fail to take it over in Sun, and take it over in Moon.

I think we'll get southern France if we're sticking to Europe, not that France didn't have it's own religious wars in the past. I wouldn't mind seeing another team try to take over the central authority of the region. N (briefly) became that according to Ghetsis in BW.

I have no geographic degree, but I'm pretty sure France doesn't have any tropical/semitropical-ish areas like one of the towns in the concept-art. Spain or Italy would make sense in my opinion tbh.

I thiink some of the most southern coastal areas are sub-tropical, I'm checking. Also, remember that GF changes up the climate somewhat. Central Kyushu has no desert like Hoenn, the islands north of Hokkaido aren't tropical, Central New York city is not a desert, the area north of Paris is not a desert.

Anyway, I'm hoping for like a Team mineral, and they specialise in Rock/Metal/Ground/Ice pokes.

Witari is right, though. DPP had themes revolving around space-time, so Team Galactic made sense in that regard. But the games' titles have nothing to do with that. So I'm not gonna throw my money on dual teams or space-related ones just yet.

I was hoping for a Team Lunar to counteract with Team Flare, but unless it's confirmed that they will return I won't be partial to any one name or ideology over another at this point. Although, I always thought it would be cool to have a game where there was a focus on art museums, and the evil team operated by stealing the art and selling it.
