I guess I'm just of the camp of letting the readers get some time to review. If you keep pumping out chapters just because you have free time, it doesn't mean that your readers have enough time to review. Besides, you should let the chapter stew for a while before posting, to make sure it's up to snuff.

Or perhaps I'm just bitter from the fact that I have two six-page reports due, I'm behind on my NaNo, and I have thirty hours to work this week. =p

Aww *pats Hanako on the back* that's the price you must pay for being one of the best reviews around in this sad excuse for a fanfiction forum. We need to find a way to make this place more lively, OTHER than shipping a whole bunch of people tired of Serebii's laginess over here.

This place is MUCH more busy than the other places I post at. Consider yourselves lucky.

Let me put it in perspective: I have two readers total, and one is reading only because we basically share a brain. We're in effect writing the same fic, but set 2000 years apart. And we had no knowledge of each other's fic when we started writing. I think that's rather creepy, but I digress.

My parents have limited my computer/video game time to two hours a day. That includes being on the computer for anything but homework (i.e. fic writing=two hours maximum per day). I'm rather unhappy, and I usually spend my time playing video games instead, so my fic feels dormant. I have great stuff lined up, but writing it means forsaking Super Mario Galaxy/Battlefield 2142/forums/internet in general. Gurgle.

Eh, I like the activity this place sees currently. I mean, when I do get on SPPf, there are so many fics with new posts to look through. If I wanted to stay on top of things and review new fics/chapters over there even half as well as I do here, it wouldn't work. Right now, I know I can lax in reviews a bit over here and not miss much.

Except, you know, your fic, Glajummy. I did promise to review a chapter a night, but I think that's going to have to change. I'm thinking of just skipping out on finding each little grammar error and just reviewing the current story as a whole. It'll take less time. I want to be caught up before you get too far.

But I guess I can just be glad that one of the essays I have to do is for a teacher who gives me good grades no matter what I do. ^^;

O_o Wow.

Fortunately, so far it's the better Sppf authors that have made the migration over here, and I like the fact that a fic here isn't bumped off the first page in a matter of a few hours...

And I didn't come here because of the lag. I made the move because Hanako reviews here exclusively, and I didn't want to lose one of my best reviewers:)

Not to mention it's my belief that PC is just a better venue. I mean, maybe it's just the fact that I dislike SPPf in general, but the last time I submitted a fic, I got a crappy review by a kid who believes that good review = saying you don't like the fic without explaining why. (Yes, yes. It's nice that you say my fic sucks. Would be nice if you could explain why other than "it rubs me the wrong way"... because, you know, "I have a gut feeling that it sucks" really doesn't help an author improve and is really terrible constructive criticism.) Alternatively, I've seen a lot of "OMG u must rite more!" reviews, although that might just be for the ones I've been linked to. I have yet to see that from PC reviewers, who are generally more intelligent and actually know how to explain things, from what I can tell.

'Course, either way, they're also better than BMGf reviewers I've seen lately/received in the past. Haha. FFNet-esque, much?

Aside from reviewers, I like the feel of the writer community here. We're actually here to help each other, rather than just reviewing for the sake of reviewing, if that makes sense. And active or not, we seem to be closer knit than a lot of other communities I've been in (except for my own, but that's because I run small-time boards).

And yes, I'm an elitist about communities, in case anyone else wanted to point that out.

As a side note, I completely failed NaNoWriMo. 20k words, a fanfiction that isn't really a fanfiction (because Pokemon don't have a particularly strong presence until the third chapter... thirty-five pages into the fic), two weeks left, and a ton of homework. Anyone else think I should dump it for the next chapter of Midsummer Knight's, or should I just stick with it, regardless of how badly I fail?

Haha, just a couple of hours ago I got a review for "Nothing, Everything", and it is here. XD The reviewer told me that he liked it but that I could do better.Okay, how? Willl reply to that after I finish this post. XD

You know what's funny, just a few days ago at Serebii the members are talking about what reviews they like best and such. Me myself I try to review to give my ophinion on the fic and try to help them if I can. I wish I can give more detailed reviews like some of the members here and at Serebii, but I am short on time. >.>

I quite like this fanfic community too and now it is starting to boom. ^^ I am trying to get active here more, but I don't really have enough time because of school, work, and "Nothing, Everything". >.>

And about your dilemma...I would say still go for it. As long as you got some words in, you didn't fail. ^^

Well, happy early Thanksgiving everyone! ^^

Heh, I saw that one... dude just joined here, too... If you don't beat me to it, I might want to try the report button out on him... Muahahahaha...

Anyway, if not for the five or six people following my fic at Sppf, I could very well leave there. The noobs (writers and reviewers) seem to be multiplying over there, especially with Sppf's former resident enforcer *coughcoughRenegadecoughcough* not coming back there anytime soon.

P.S.: Bay, think you could squeeze in a quick review for my fic before you leave?

Yeah, I did beat you to it. :P I just told him though to give a detalied one next time, because I am nice like that! XD

And sure, will try to do a quick review before I go to class today. ^^

OMGAWH! I just re-did my chapter three and I'm so proud of myself. Don't badger my on spelling/grammar because that's still being worked on.

Do whatever you like and take as long as you want! I probbaly won't have an update for a while due to mid-terms, promised reviews, catching up with friends' fics, Thanksgiving (can't miss my turkey!)

Could someone review my fanfic pleaz? I could use some help.

Someone review the edit. I'm so proud...

Okay, yeah, other than the few who are like that kid. XD

As for short reviews, even one or two paragraphs that tell the author what does and doesn't work and why fall under the good reviews category, so it's okay if you don't have time to write longer reviews as long as you get your point across clearly, am I right? :)

Thanks for the advice, by the way.

Yeah, but Jaxy, what about the short reviews that are ff.net-esque? "Good story, but there's things you can improve on" doesn't exactly work. xD I do hate those kinds of reviews, where you can just copy-and-paste them into every story and have them hold true. At least say something specific about the story you just read.

But yes, your point came across well. I feel that even though I don't have time to go through each point of the story and find every mistake, just as long as the writer knows what I liked and what I didn't is a good review. The writer knows that someone read their story and liked it enough to tell them what work and what didn't.

And don't worry, Bay. I got to that guy as well. I try to keep up on all the new posts in this section to make sure everything is in order. Except, you know, when those posts happen when I'm in school. XD

But thanks, guys, for enjoying your stay here. I know I'm doing my job if you guys are happy to be here. ^^

Aw, thanks. :) That makes me feel so good inside. And I'm glad that you're here now as well, bringing your reviewing skills with you.

I'll be less cheese-filled tomorrow.

Yeah, but Jaxy, what about the short reviews that are ff.net-esque?

One line be not a paragraph make when it comes to reviews, so those don't count. My philosophy is if you can't say enough to cover more than one sentence, then you're probably not saying anything relevant at all. Seriously, how can people just write a review that's only one line? This post is more than one line. I just can't understand what laws of physics they manipulate to achieve such a compact opinion. O_o

"We would if we could, but we can't, so we won't."

I say: Yes! That is the most awesome quote ever! Where's it from, Hanoko? I say it all the time, and I don't know where it comes from.

I think I originally got it from an episode of Full House. It just kind of stayed with me. Someone that I know in real life enjoys hearing me say it, so it's just something that stuck with me.

I thought it fit the situation. :D

*is currently checking forums while working on NaNo* It's not going well. x.x

Hanako...my Chapter 3 has been edited and no reviews have been give...I want some. Please do, your leik, da best reviewer EBUR!

Okay, Scythe-kun. I'll see what I can do.

And just to use this post as a strange reminder, here's the list of people who I need to review fics for:

Scythe-kun
TurtleKing
Glajummy
Jack-Jack
Jax Malcolm
Duncan McNeil
Hero
Bay
Saphira_Thorn
Brock_Lee
txteclipse
iLike2EatPiez
purple_drake
_One_Winged_Angel_
Pkmm Breeder Jack
Griff

...Oh yeah. I can do this. I hope some of you can figure out the nicknames I left for y'all.

I'll get to reviewing, after I email my teacher, because he's more important. ;3 *skips away*

*skips back* And no, this list isn't in order of how I'll do the reviews. It'll depend on how much time I have as to what order I'll get these done in. So don't worry, Scythe-kun, I'll get to your chapter at some point.
