Fortunately, so far it's the better Sppf authors that have made the migration over here, and I like the fact that a fic here isn't bumped off the first page in a matter of a few hours...
Not to mention it's my belief that PC is just a better venue. I mean, maybe it's just the fact that I dislike SPPf in general, but the last time I submitted a fic, I got a crappy review by a kid who believes that good review = saying you don't like the fic without explaining
why. (Yes, yes. It's nice that you say my fic sucks. Would be nice if you could explain
why other than "it rubs me the wrong way"... because, you know, "I have a gut feeling that it sucks" really doesn't help an author improve and is really terrible constructive criticism.) Alternatively, I've seen a lot of "OMG u must rite more!" reviews, although that might just be for the ones I've been linked to. I have yet to see that from PC reviewers, who are generally more intelligent and actually know how to explain things, from what I can tell.
'Course, either way, they're also better than BMGf reviewers I've seen lately/received in the past. Haha. FFNet-esque, much?
Aside from reviewers, I like the feel of the writer community here. We're actually here to help each other, rather than just reviewing for the sake of reviewing, if that makes sense. And active or not, we seem to be closer knit than a lot of other communities I've been in
(except for my own, but that's because I run small-time boards).
And yes, I'm an elitist about communities, in case anyone else wanted to point that out.
As a side note, I completely failed NaNoWriMo. 20k words, a fanfiction that isn't really a fanfiction (because Pokemon don't have a particularly strong presence until the third chapter... thirty-five pages into the fic), two weeks left, and a ton of homework. Anyone else think I should dump it for the next chapter of Midsummer Knight's, or should I just stick with it, regardless of how badly I fail?
