  • How much have you improved since your first Pokémon fanfic? In which ways did you improve the most? Do you still retain some of your early weaknesses?

I'm still writing my first fic, but yeah, I've improved. My dialogue has gotten a lot better mainly, but I'm really just all-around more skilled. I still struggle with engaging the reader though, I think. I tend to get wordy.

Do you like crossovers? What is it about crossovers that you like/dislike? What fandoms were in your favourite?

I sure hope I do, seeing as I'm writing one. I like crossovers for the same reasons I like good fanfiction: the story is compelling and the elements work well together. If the author is just smashing their two favorite things in the whole wide world together for their own kicks, though, I'm usually turned off instantaneously.

And is my crossover the only one in existence that doesn't focus on trans-dimensional portals, magic, or the like? I just placed pokémon into the world of the R-Type games as though they had always been a part of it, and the whole thing went *click.* I mean frell, it was almost too perfect.

Kind of odd, seeing as R-Type is a scrolling shooter and pokémon is...well, pokémon.

  • I do avoid it if I can. Realistically, though, all it needs is a decent explanation that's worked well into the storyline without being totally in-your-face.

woah, lol I still have the feeling up upside-downness (yes I just said that), from the rides we had in our city's fair. Was fun.

  • Always been there bugs me, for some reason. :/

Mmm. What about fandoms in which it'd make complete and total sense, like DC comics in which Batman and Superman decide to team up, but it's totally cool because they could exist in the same universe -- just in completely different cities? Or, alternatively, there's the Hitchhiker's Guide and Doctor Who example.

I don't know. My point is it might actually be natural in some cases for fandoms to match up like that, but I was wondering if you felt the same way when that sort of thing happened.

I've already reported the post guys, so let's hope there is a quick response :S

I'd hope a ban from this would ensue too.

EDIT: Thanks to whoever got it.

Oh, yes. I like to think I've improved in absolutely every possible way, since if I haven't that makes me... quite bad, to say the least.

My general writing style has definitely improved the most, even though it's still not the best.

Do you like crossovers? What is it about crossovers that you like/dislike? What fandoms were in your favourite?
I've actually never read a crossover. Usually I'm only familiar with one of the fandoms involved or the fandoms seem like they would be a terrible idea for mixing together in any way. I don't dislike them in principle, though; if I saw a crossover that could actually make sense that seemed to be well done, I would read it.

...and then I've written one. xP Pokémon/The Matrix, which I swear makes more sense than it sounds; it's about how the real world is a virtual reality and we are all really Pokémon that are being held in special Pokéballs to produce energy for the humans of the Pokémon world. And the main characters wear cool shades because it lets them see people inside the virtual reality as the Pokémon they really are. Granted, it was cracky humor fic, but it had the advantage of being a purely conceptual crossover, drawing from world concepts from both canons but not involving the characters from either. Although it followed a rough parody of the plot of The Matrix.

Let's just say, someone posted a rather short "fic" that needed immediate deletion...

Sorry. I was sleeping. Wouldn't have slept so long if I didn't stay up all night playing the Sims.

And since the last time I tried to post, a database error appeared, I'll try again. And I'm not going to completely answer the question, because I really want to get back to the Sims.

Do you like crossovers? What is it about crossovers that you like/dislike? What fandoms were in your favourite?
I like crossovers when they are fully thought out. Don't just slap two fandoms together and think it'll work out without any effort to make it work. Think things through.

And for the love of everything, if a character is transported from one world to the other, then they aren't going to be happy about things, unless that fits their character. Some might actually want to screw the fun happy adventure and go home.

That said, I do have a crossover that I want to write. The main canon is Kingdom Hearts, which is fun, because it's the canon that allows for crossovers! I'm crossing it with Ender's Game, so it's just going to be lots of fun yaoi goodness.

It's no worries Asty, while the other super mods might not touch fic related reports, such as them being short etc, (assuming your guy's system is similar to ours), in this case it was a little more obvious in what had to be done.

    Oh, for the love of--

Naturally, when I have to go to work, I miss the porn.

I shouldn't be imagining Andy prancing around in a frilly princess dress, proclaiming himself to be the eighth Princess of Heart. Yet, I am.

  • It wasn't porn, though, it was just like two or three sentences of an attempt at writing, if what Reign was talking about is the Dark Wars story (or something like that).

Oh, that one, yeah, I saw. I just thought there was something in the FFL, considering Feign's post seemed out of the blue. O_o
