In regards to writing fiction --only fiction, would you rather lose your creativity or your grammar skills? Assuming they were of equal value and it only applies to fiction writing.

Hmm...

Without creativity, I wouldn't be writing fiction.

Without grammar, I wouldn't be writing.

The answer is obvious!

Grammar!

Also, my friend's trying to write 1 000 000 words. Over a span of about 20 months, meaning one NaNoWriMo (or more) every month of the year.

ZAP, KAPOW, SHAZAM!

Holy damn. I leave for, what, a month, and I come back and don't recognise half you people? XD

I'd lose the grammar. It's the pride of my life, grammar and spelling, but I think of it like this.

If I lost my creativity, I'd be churning out these 'perfect' stories, with no mistakes, all fine, but they'd be so damn boring nobody would read them.

On the other hand, if I gave up grammar, I'd still have interesting stories, and I could always get a beta reader. There are no beta readers for creativity.

Good to see y'all. *resubscribes*

Hmmm a bit of a stupid question, as it probably comes more for preference than any sort of story element (seeing as it would all be read at the time anyway), but I was wondering what order I should have for the 'present' portion of my fic. That is to say, there will be two settings in the scene. One will be of Ash and the bad guys (enter plot elements that would explain the reasoning for the capture). The other scene is his friends wondering where he is, with an [inevitable] encounter with Team Rocket, then they head forth etc.

So far I've been writing it with Ash's friends as beginning off the present timeline. In my previous chapter, I ended on Ash being captured. The subsequent chapter being in the past again.

Any thoughts?
To avoid cunfusion, I'd suggest you have Ash's friends wondering where he is first, then flashback to where he's being captured. So and so. Don't take my word for it though, I just got back from somewhere and I'm tired as heck. :/

Total profile revamp X_x

Did get a few sentences done :S
Ya, know the rate at which you change themes, in comparison to FFL regulars, is astounding. XD

Welcome back. :3

Yeah I figured that would be the best order of things. XD

As for my theme, do you mean to say that it hasn't been changed in a while compared to others, or the other way around?

The other way round. XD
From my observations, most people here don't change themes that often. Apart from Bay and some people like Whisper. XD

Oh, ah XD

And I thought I was one of the few who doesn't change their theme that often.

Bold topic:

You know you're writing is bad when...

When your professor asks you to visit after class pointing several grammatical and word choice errors, and asking if you're an ESL student because of your name...

Yeah... that happened to me... I know I've always had a word choice problem, but I was kind of surprised he said that. X_x

Well I did do the essay like the day before it was due (I do that), so that probably didn't help matters, nor did properly proof reading it as I should have done, as instead of the aforementioned bold topic about reading it as I go. Though I still passed the paper. XD (does the appropriate "fml" usually follow this sort of thing? Then again, I did more or less bring it upon myself X_x)

I was just sitting here thinking that it's about time for the lounge to do something absolutely bonkers. You know, crazy-as-frell. Like we could all roleplay as each other or something. We should take this s*** to the friggin' moon.

First off, though, bold topics. Mmm.

I'd rather lose my grammar skills, honestly. Your grammar could be a steaming pile of Muk and you can still have a good story.

And Asty, the Chronicles need a [Pokémon] tag. Sorry to bother you.

You have no idea how much that sentence made me want to make a World Ends With You reference. Anyway, back to training Totodiles! : D

You fail at spelling your name... :3

Was a joke btw.

Also, I see Inane bold topics and sentences that show insanity are beginning to creep back in to lounge vocabulary. Could this be the start of a new Insane FFL episode?

Well, I'm back now, so that possibility just increased exponentially.

YOU KNOW YOUR WRITING IS BAD WHEN YOU USE "VIBRISSA" TO DESCRIBE HAIR. HUMAN HAIR. ... I haven't actually done this yet, but I do know I've had my fair share of "purple prose" in the past. >: I love the color purple, but not in my writing.

Let's see what this badass mother can do. *refers to FFL*
(~Kallen Kozuki - Code Geass)

Anyway, kickstarting the madness.

Oh and,
What fandoms do you want to/have write/written on besides Pokemon?

What fandoms do you want to/have write/written on besides Pokemon?

I tried Digimon once, but the story was not developed enough and is now boiling in my brain until I've got something good and interesting to put in it.

^ Same as my Darker Than Black fic. :/
Ideas aren't fully developed.

I have written in Fruits Basket, Harry Potter and Naruto, but those fics were when I was, like, thirteen and were absolutely terrible. As such, they have been erased from existence and I've never been as glad. There's no particular fandom that I want to write in right now, though I do have a bit of a Harry Potter plot bunny in mind. Unfortunately, I'm too busy with my current fic to do anything about it so the poor bunny is probably going to starve to death.

If I knew a bit more on the Mass Effect universe, I might try that. Though idk how much of a background I'd want to provide to bring my readers up to date on what was going on. However, the game's prologue, might just do just as well.

I'm planning out a big Sonic novel since last year... it starts off like the really old games do.

Oh, and the order is really screwed up. (first adaption is SegaSonic The Hedgehog, then Sonic 2 {GG}, then Sonic 1 {both versions combined}, then Sonic 2-4, followed up by... I dunno. XD {and I'll figure out a place for Sonic Cd [That game is too awesome to be left out}})

Nope, Pocket Monsters is the only fandom as of right now that I am totally obsessed with. I like other fandoms (Digmon, Avatar, etc) I just don't have an interest in writing about them.

Hellsing, Batman, and Good Omens. The first I tried as a cross-over with Pokémon, the next I tried and barely got to work, and the third I want to write 'bout.
