Sometimes I wonder what kind of members go to Other Writing... it kind of scares me... >>

But yeah... a full day and still no reviews in my revised story... or at least cmoments...

and the even scarier part is MOTM got no one from Pokemon fanfic, as all 3 of the awards went to Other Writing writers... so if they don't comment or fix stories there, how do they know whose writings are good anyway? O.o; scares me like that. I checked there today and saw a story with 10+ comments so I went in, and I know that it can't be good without reading it (it's one of "those" types of fanfics)... very scary place o.o; or maybe the sane people are all in the poetry section which I didn't check.

Thanks for the compliment, "the-high-staff-with-the-most-name-changes-that-I-can't-remember-your-name-ever," I guess ^^;; I do go on MSN, just that you're on the opposite side of the globe so of course it "seems" that I hardly go on

Make a post in the Academy, then I'll know when is it time to review your story ^^;

(be sure to post a link to your story though so I don't have to hunt for it >>)

Umm... Frosty, his story is relative to a spam post.

I'm making a story called "The Sick Latios"

Thanks, all. :) :rises from dead:

Fwee, welcome back, Act!

If it's pok?morphs you're after, I'm afraid good 'fics are hard to find. I've only ever read two, really, both of which you're familiar with (Ice and Both and Neither). However, if you're feeling adventurous, Pink Parka Girl runs a C2 dedicated to high-quality morph 'fic. I picked two titles at random out of there, and one was quite good and the other rather meh, so you'll have to make the call yourself on what it's got in there. Probably your best bet, though.

C2s scare me. Someone put Sincerely, Feebas into a general C2 called 'Ultimate Randomness'. Basically, it's for fics that are 'about nothing'. I've sort of steered away from them since then. The PKMN section over at FFnet is pretty n00by as of late. I don't really hae the initiative to work up a fanbase there anymore. /random

Ah, yes, FF.net... that place where two people have put my one-shots on author alerts (seriously, guys, wtf?!).

Meh, I looked through the rest of the C2, and for the most part, it's pretty junky. Better than average, but overall meh. I'm afraid you're looking for a very rare thing in good morph stuff.

C2 doesn't provide quality control, but just stories with a similar theme... having a fancy name for a group with something in common doesn't really say that it's going to be good.

Heh, you have no idea how many reviews I've gotten for one-shots asking "Please update soon!" or "Are you going to continue this??"...

Thinking is for schoolwork -.-' Whenever I look at that 'fix this sentence' I have to think of my English teacher and flinch. ::shudder::: **** that woman.

I've also found that everyone who has me on alert has never reviewed a fic of mine.

When I look at my stats, most of the C2s my stories are in are for authors who's favorite stories list reach its maximum. One I'm in is called Randomness of Random Randomness. o.o And Genre Lake for fics that just don't seem to have a specific genre I guess.

Oh, you mean like a radio drama? I could possibly pull that off. Problem is, I just don't feel like doing one of those.

Heh heh.... I never even read Shakespeare.

So what if you suck, recruit someone. May not be an easy task, finding someone willing to do something that's completely volunteer work, but that's why you gotta make an effort. That's what I intend to do. One place I'd recommend is searching around Deviant Art, since several of the people there are extremely good manga artists. It really helps to know that an artist you spot isn't busy with their own projects (several Deviants are working on some kind of series), and it also helps if you know they have an interest in Pokemon. Make sure to be on the look-out for such artists. And if you don't intend to recruit, just practice, you may hone your own skills over time. The same applies to Flash movies just as much as manga.

In any case, make sure you have your story in its final draft before you try drawing anything (posting the script as a fanfic's a good way to get comments, like what I'm doing right now). Typing words is very, very easy, but drawing isn't something you'd want to redo if you were to change your mind on anything. With that in mind, you may not want to recruit an illustrater until after you get the story finalized. You wouldn't want to put your artist on hold for an indefinite amount of time, now would you? Follow these tips, and you may be able to produce something pretty good.
Alright, I finally got myself together and signed up on DeviantArt. Before I go and get myself in trouble (like at vgmusic :( ) for demanding, do you have any advice for something polite to say?

well no idea what happened lately but PC "died" for a night or two, and things keep going screwy (guess the censor list got reset or something)

Hopefully fanfic forum will regain its activity when everything settles ^^; I'll keep up with doing weekly saturday review (or try in vain, at least)

Alright, I have a question...

I'm working on 'Miscon...', and Gina is trying for a corphish. Now, there is a big ordeal leading up to the actual appearance of the corphish, and at this point the chapter is already 5 pages-- 3000 words.

I was thinking about not writing out the entire battle, but summarizing it instead for the reader's sake. I usually go with my intuition (if I'm bored writing something, it will be bored to read), but here I'm not sure.

Is it cheating to not flesh out the whole battle? Does the reader like to see every little thing like that?

::confuzzeration::

That's one problem... writing out a battle takes absolutely forever -_-; Of course you can do that. You are the writer, afterall, and you have ultimate control over what goes in the story, and how.

Heh, the longest chapter I've ever written was like... seventeen or eighteen pages. x3 That's not THAT long, unless it's really boring.

I try not to go too long, beause my writing is very heavily narration based-- no nifty dialogue to get the pages to fly by-- and I have this fear of boring the reader, even if I don't find it boring.

I think the most I've done is 11 Word pages at 12 pt. TNR, no double-space. Wahoo, specifics.

Sorry that I am so inactive lately, but Riviera is a bit too much fun, a bit too addicting, and Fia/Cierra in Riviera are a bit too cute ^^

<3

Maybe after I beat the game a couple thousand times, I'll come back to review a lot again, but until then... <3
