Have you ever used/planned to use real life names of friends or family for characters in your fic?

Actually, I was going to start writing a "real" story "based" on some... "events" that "happened" in someone's "life" and I "was" going to use their "names". But, alas, I have no motivation to do so.

Ehehe...in my very first fic, written together with my best friend, we were the main characters. -_- I haven't taken a real name in a long time now, though.

Why have so many people been posting short, not so great fics lately? They hurt my eyes. (I may be exaggerating, I didn't count how many people posted such fics.)

I was going to say something rude, snarky, and sarcastic, but I decided to be nice. For now, that is.

O.O

Wow. xD Being the main characters? Sounds like a trip!

There are few valid excuses for being out of the loop, and fortunately, eye surgery is one of them. I'll explain each of those questionable areas for you and others who are just coming in:

Rick Rolling: Jax rickrolled us by posting part of the forbidden lyrics, I tried countering by posting a rickroll link addressed to her and disguised as an online course for shipping.

Rayquaza Tribe: A scourge on the forum, don't read it.

ONIONS: A terribly evil antagonist who was created by Silver and is now part of the orgy.

Cage: Asty sent Silver there for some reason.

Any more questions?

btw, get well soon!

Haha, that makes more sense. Thanks for the clear up. :)

Anyways, woot thought of an idea for this month's prompt and I already planned out what's going to happen. The only thing is I don't like the title. At the moment it's called Hounds of Goldenrod and the one shot is going to be a Mightyena who was in a pack called that, but then will run away after he witnesses the killing of a trainer and two Pokemon (one of the rules of the pack is actually to not kill any living being). So yeah, I feel it's a bit too generic. Um...does anyone have a better title? XD

I don't know Bay, I actually like the title, along with the plot.

I'm with Gummy on this one. Not a great title, but it would work just fine IMO. And the plot sounds good for sure.

And why is everyone ragging on Rayquaza Tribe? I thoroughly enjoyed that particular piece of literary fiction. It's refreshing style of non-conformity to the standard fiction rules was really a breath of fresh air.

What? Don't believe me? -_-

Kind of. The closest I think I've ever gotten was having Rosencrantz and Guildenstern tell Viola that the only reason why they're in Montague House is to "pick up chicks."

Otherwise, my characters tend to be fairly pretentious and/or not at all with pop culture. Because for some reason I just end up creating geek characters.

Unfortunately, I used to do that all the time, when I wrote OT stories involving my Mary Sues. *facepalm* One of them was even actually a self-insert.

Can I?

The plot's definitely got potential, and I think the title could work as it is.

If you'd still like a suggestion, maybe the name of the main Mightyena?

I no longer have my eye patch, so I am no longer a stalker and won't be using pirate talk for awhile... y'all.

All the time. I try to avoid using them in narration, but as far as speech, anything goes.

I use the first names of some of my friends but use different last names. Some of my characters have the last names of professors I've had at college 0_O Then again, I keep my identity on PC/Sppf separate from my RL identity, so I doubt any of my RL friends will get the references, especially since they're not into Pokemon, lol

Just make her happy. :D

Oh, and if I wasn't in this cage, I'd hug mommy for locking that idiotic story. I just saw that it was locked and I did a huge dance. Like, every dance I know...even a bad imitation of soulja boy. So yeah, I can't stress it enough. Thank you!!

Just make her happy. :D

HOW DAER U
she can be both our moms since were lyk bro n sis yo ):

You people better have fun this weekend, I am on BRB. and:

When it comes to reality in fanfics, such as attitude, are your characters ever too blunt with any other characters?

Yay, answering my own question :D But, when it comes to attitudes and what not, hey, this is one of my favorite overall TV moments. Do you see him being blunt with the three year old? In answer to my own question, no, I will never make my characters blunt. My god, I might even add some narcissistic sarcasm for some hilarity.

Don't even get me started.

Most of you read it. "There are plenty of fish in the sea."

Why did I choose this line? I have no idea. What was I smoking when I wrote that? Dunno. I was on the bus, so the idiot fumes must've got to me. I don't intend on doing that again.

As for anything else, I'd say some are elaborate...like Yellow in face Down. But of course, she trusts Green. But I don't recall having anyone be blunt. Wait...e1337. Heh heh.

Dragonair DIED.

Blunt and bold.

EDIT: I think we scared away Burnt Flower. :< Which is a great feat for us. I mean, we scared away the Mistress of Horror.

Haha, yeah I wanted to post before, but then I got very confused with all the references of onions and Rick Astley. XD

But hey, this seems like a very fun place, so hello to everyone! :D

Now I'll answer one of the questions:

Have you ever used/planned to use real life names of friends or family for characters in your fic?

I almost ALWAYS use the real names of my friends and acquaintances and then I proceed to twist the heck out of their personalities, but the characters are not them in any way. For example, my friend Agnes is a fervent vegetarian; in my one-shot Contaminated Freedom, the Agnes in my fic was a cannibal. XD

Yeah. I do that a lot actually.
Whenever I make an OC, I usually use a close friend of mine's name and even sometimes a similiar appearence...
It makes it a lot easier for me to work with sometimes, like I really know the character already...and stuff.
But other times I just randomly think up random annoying eleven year old redheads.

It better not be my name.

Silver? O.O

I just proofread a college graduate's essay. :/ I must be either really smart, or he's just really dumb. xD

It could be, ;D

Hey, I don't mind being in Fast Times. Just as long as I end up with Wally or Silver. ;D

Or both.
Probably both.

Probably so. -.-

I had something typed here, but I forgot what is was. D: Stupid computer!

Not really. Most of the times my characters are either sarcastic or joking around.

And Lash, love that video. XD

As for the title...I'll probably stick to Hounds of Goldenrod. Speaking of that fic, I"m actually almost done with it. ^^ Trying to finish it as much as possible before realitives come tomrrow. :X

Hounds of Goldenrod.
I like it. I would stick with it.

Happy 4th of July to all of those in the U.S. For those who are in the U.K., sorry.

I am writing my fic and came accross a problem. In a scene when the boy is eating a graonala bar, I was trying to describe it. I wrote a sintence and it sounds fuuny, but does it make since

The soft chewy granola crunched in between his teeth
