So, imagine you had the chance to go to one of two worlds. If you choose to go to the fantasy world, you will gain magic powers. If you choose the futuristic world, you will become the captain of a spaceship. (You can decide for yourself what magic, and what ship you would gain.)

    Which would you choose?

Is there a choice to stay back in my dimension? I'm totally ok being on earth.

Anyway, I would probably chose Future. Lower death rate is all I want.

Fantasy world sounds pretty fun in my opinion. Have my own magic fight the evil witch and monsters so I would choose fantasy world. Spaceship sounds boring in my opinion.

The thing I want more than anything in the world is some sort of magical power. Telekinesis would be so awesome, best combat magic ever - I've spent a lot of time watching Buffy/Angel/Charmed/Harry Potter and thinking about this very thing. Definitely the fantasy world.

However it would have to be just like the modern world except some people have magic. I don't want to go to one of those fantasy worlds like LOTR where you trek through forests in olden-time clothing. I hate those fantasy worlds :P

It's a really tough call, but I think I'd go to the fantasy world. Magic has always fascinated me. I'd probably have to get used to less sophisticated technology, knowing me, but I like magic enough to adjust to it.

If I had things my way, I'd go to a world that has both! /biased because she writes a series about that

    Magic!
As much as I love Sciencey stuff, having magic lets you break all the rules, so magic it is.

I would remain on Earth and become fabulously wealthy by selling off my opportunity to the highest bidder.

Probably the fantasy world, something with an Eragon-style magic language system. Preferably not in medieval stasis, maybe a world where most people don't acknowledge magic, and that has progressed more or less like ours has right up to the equivalent of 2100 AD.

Fantasy, as much as space intriguies me, I'd love to learn magic. I'd be like Voldemort Harry Potter. All evil nice and then maybe be a peacemaker overlord.

    Fantasy.

I can do whatever I want!
Captain of a spaceship? Sounds boring to me.

    Whichever was more peaceful.

I don't want to go to a fantasy world where there are dragons terrorizing the countryside and I don't want to fly in a spaceship is I have space pirates chasing me all the time. But if it were a blind choice I'd probably go with the future since I could enjoy modern - or I guess futuristic - comforts.

Being completely in charge of a massive spaceship sounds really daunting, to be honest. As long as the fantasy world isn't overrun by a massive dragon or LOTR style villains, I'd probably choose fantasy world hands down. As much as you can choose your type of spacecraft, there's just so much more choice of magic than there is of the former; telekinesis, pyromania, flying. SO. MANY. OPTIONS!

^ Well, if you were to go to say... EVE Online, they fly spaceships the size of planets solo, so there doesn't necessarily have to be a crew if you don't want it.

I get paid in perks to bump threads! >:)

Congrats, this is the new Poll of the Week!

    *stickies!*

    I think I'd end up in the futuristic world. I'd love magic, and actually quivered on this for a while before deciding, but I think I like technology more. I imagine in the distant future, technology will be so advanced that it'll seem like magic (in the media) is to us right now. Show a smartphone or tablet to someone who lived a few hundred years ago and they'd say it was magic. So I'll head to the future. :> I just hope I don't actually have to captain a ship. If I do, it'd be a broken one that's always on the ground so I can just laze about in a city. xD;

I can't stand technology (to a certain point) so it's the fantasy world for me, I want some Magic Powers
