Forgot to give an honorable mention to the Team Plasma battle theme, I used to let those grunt battles go on for ages just to listen to the music lol xD

Primal Dialga battle music from PMD: Explorers of the Sky. It's such a desperate and sad sounding battle song.

For me Hoenn had by far the best variety of music, many of my favourites are from the Ruby, Sapphire & Emerald games. However if I had to pick one as a favourite it would probably be the Gym Leader Theme.



Really love that theme and can't wait to hear this one in the remakes!

Hoenn was the first region I played and has most of my favorite tunes, most memorably the Mount Pyre exterior one and the one in the underwater caves that really helped create just the right atmosphere. The legendary battle music in Black is also a favorite to the point where I kinda want the catch to drag on just a little bit.

I used to love the Goldenrod theme from Gold and Silver. But I remember hearing this briefly as I played through the game. But stopping to actually listen makes it so much better.

When it comes to the music in Pokemon games, I have one answer for favorite tracks. My answer happens to be the battle music, all of it. When it came to the Super Music Collections for the main games, I mainly bought battle music.
